Cleverly TKO’s Kuziemski in 4th round

By Joe Gorman: In the biggest fight of the 25-year-old’s career, newly crowned WBO light heavyweight world champion Nathan cleverly (22-0, 11KO’s) stopped the light-hitting challenger Aleksy Kuziemski (21-3 5KO’s) in the 4th round due to a cut under the left eye of the polish contender.

Cleverly came into this fight in the best shape of his career looking powerful, athletic and sharp. From the start of round one, Cleverly showed his dominance with his ring general-ship standing in the centre of the ring pleasing the crowed landing with really eye-catching combination’s.

By the end of the second round, you could tell Cleverly was too much for the former European champion as Kuziemski’s face was cut by his left eye.

In the third round, Cleverly showed his inexperience by not going to the body as much as he should of and getting caught by silly shots but over all he showed he was to much for this European standard fighter.

In what the most exiting fight of the card in the 02 arena so far, Cleverly says he wants to be fighting the top contenders in the division now and then hopefully move on to unify the light heavyweight division.

THAT FIGHT SHOWED LAST NIGHT, THAT CLEVERLY IS A MANUFACTURED FIGHTER, THAT LIGHT-PUNCHING POLE WHO CAME IN AT 3 DAYS NOTICED ROCKED HIM WITH A RIGHT HAND, HE BETTER STAY AWAY FROM THE TOP LIGHT HEAVIES.

First time watching the kid fight. I wasn’t overly impressed with him…he’s a little too green right now. He got away with alot of holding throughout the fight and he’s not a big puncher but has a great motor and puts together good combos’s. I wouldn’t be in a rush to step up his competition just yet though because of his flaws which almost cost him in the second round. If he were facing a top tier opposition he wouldn’t fair to well right now..give him about 2 years he should be okay but I wouldn’t rush him into anything big right now.
