Mosley: Margarito landed the most shots ever on Pacquiao

By Chris Williams: Looking to show boxing fans that he does stand a chance against Manny Pacquiao next month on May 7th, 39-year-old Shane Mosley pointed out today in conference call to the media that Pacquiao just finished getting hit the most times he’d ever been hit in a fight in his last bout against Antonio Margarito last November.
Mosley uses this argument to show that he does have the hand speed to land shots against Pacquiao next month. Mosley, in contrast, easily defeated an arguably younger and better version of Margarito two years ago in 2009, stopping him in the 9th round in a one-sided fight. At no time in the fight was Mosley hurt. Pacquiao was hurt by Margarito in the 6th and almost knocked down.
Mosley said this in the conference call today:”I see in the Margarito fight that Margarito landed the most punches ever on Manny Pacquiao. So if Margarito is fast enough to land punches on Manny Pacquiao than I know I am fast enough to land punches on Manny Pacquiao.”
Mosley is correct. It isn’t going to be hard for him to land shots against Pacquiao, because is going to be there to be hit in this fight. The real question for Mosley is whether he can stand up to Pacquiao’s shots for 12 rounds without being stopped or badly hurt to the point where it shuts Mosley’s offense down like it was in his last two fights against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sergio Mora. Mosley went into shut down mode early in those fights and didn’t look good at all.

Shane will try to hold onto Pac, the same way he did Margarito.
Shane doesn’t understand you can hit Manny now with a sledgehammer and it won’t hurt him. This fight will prove Manny is on something because there is no way he should be able to handle a flush shot from Mosley using 8oz gloves. No matter what Shane hits him with it won’t hurt because Paq is numb to all pain. May the best cheater win!

All I know is that Manny is not Floyd and this fight will show the difference between the two. Mosley no matter how old should fare better against Manny than he did against Floyd.
Yessss it is what we have always said, Mosley has no chance because of one factor, he is too old to fight toe to toe for the full 12 rounds with a man with enhanced physical condition. Skill wise, you have to measure it in the first few rounds, he will dominate packman.
@ do not forget: How is mosley slicker than floyd when he got murdered by floyd? just because he landed one real good shot, doesnt make take away that floyd out boxed him for the rest of the fight

Its funny, Pacnuts are counting Mosley out because of the following:
1) He will gas out
2) He is too old
3) He can’t pull the trigger
4) His legs are gone

manny is a natural light weight but dominates welterweigths
for martinez to be as great as pacquiao he must climb up to heavy weights and dominate there, he must fight haye and the C. brothers.

Margarito landed shots without effect….and still lost every round…Mannys training is borrowed from martial arts of tolerating pain…mind over matter…remember Mannys stick training on his abdomen…and remember all Mannys opponents are way larger…go figure….aloha
Pacquiao is ducking SERGIO MARTINEZ!. Sergio Maravilla Martinez would conquered Pacquiao on the inside and on the outside. Martinez is way too much faster than Pac.

Unless there is injury or sickness involved boxing never lies. When Deyla hoya and Mosely fought,albeit years ago they were pretty evenly matched.Cotto and Mosely were also evenly matched.Manny Pacquiao will walk thru Mosely the same way he did Oscar and Cotto.To expect anything else is to be a damn fool.The Margarito fight has nothing to do with this fight.Margarito was busted out on live TV with loaded gloves and he crumbled.

@King Yaka, it will be gin getting interedting aound round 4. By then, Pacquioao would have felt Mosley’s punches and vice versa. Somebody is going to panic! If Pacquiao takes too many to the gut, and one or two to the chops and becomes defensive, we will crown a “NEW WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD”!
Pacquiao believes his own fraudulent hype. He has no idea that he has never fast a fast opponent before.

But the punches didn’t mount to much. It was Margs face that looked like pounded meat. His eyes were nearly closed and suffered a broken orbital. Mosley has never fought a south paw so he beaten badly. Mosley has a slim to none chance on winning this fight and slim just left town.
Manny will have to be able to box. Be patient. Use the ring. If he tries to bang with Mosely within the first 4 rounds it could get ugly. Manny can take a punch but if Mosley finds a home for his left hook or straight right dont be surprised if the judges start to head for the exit before the decision is read. Your not going to knock Mosley out with one punch. Im betting that because Floyd made it look easy, the Manny camp thinks they can do the same. Wrong. This will be the fight where we see Manny at full steam mentally and physically. Or this could be the fight where Manny takes too much punishment and gets stopped for trying to be brave. Either way this should be a good entertaining fight.
