Roy Jones Jr. could be facing Denis Lebedev next
By Dan Ambrose: 42-year-old Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 40 KO’s) could be facing Russian cruiserweight contender Denis Lebedev (21-1, 16 KO’s) next in May in what could be yet another knockout loss for Jones. Things haven’t been going very good for Jones as of late with Jones having lost three out of his last five bouts, including his last two. If Jones does end up taking on Lebedev, Jones would be facing arguably the best fighter in the cruiserweight division bar none.
Jones is reportedly working on putting together the fight with the hard hitting 31-year-old southpaw Lebedev in a fight that will be, if it can be successfully put together, taking place in Lebedev’s home country of Russia. The money potential for this fight must be good for Jones to be willing to risk what would appear to be an almost certain brutal knockout loss. It’s hard to see Jones making it through four rounds under Lebedev’s powerful onslaught. Jones is a light heavyweight and would be moving up in weight to take one one of the hardest punchers in the entire cruiserweight division. Given Jones’ history of suffering knockout losses when facing hard punches, this fight probably won’t take long for Lebedev to win unless Jones runs or suddenly gets younger.

Mud dogg
He is officially done, as a competitive fighter anyway and anyone who holds a recent win over him will be remembered for beating a shot Roy Jones. He does have a great legacy but will also be remembered for going on too long and losing to nobodies i.e Danny Green.
Knock it on the head roy or you will end up punch drunk like that fat c@nt ricky hatton and thats for the one leg one arm one ear and one foot and a bad eye x ageing war hero that fought for his country .
Didnt I read That RJJ had a balance problem? How are you gonna fight with that? Could he pass any kind of physical? Maybe if Dr. feelgood checked him out.
Roy must like to fight ,or like Ali cannot let go of the great glory days.Remember when Roy beat John ruiz.,then Haye had him ,and stopped him late knocking him down a couple times.Do you think ruiz would have lasted 3 rounds with Wlad?
Roy must call it a day even Mike T did the same.
I agree with everyone who tells Roy he has done it all and should step down. However.. Anyone who says he is ruining his legacy obviously is a new fan.. Ray Robinson (considered the best P4P fighter of all time) and Ali (considered the greatest heavy of all time) both went out in similar fashions losing to people they’d usually own in there primes, and no one in todays world says they ruined there legacy!! Roy IS a LEGEND!! and ALWAYS will be a LEGEND! And I believe boxing owes him and I will always support him till he is officially done!
Not 1 single person gives a fat rats ass about who Roy is fighting both Jones and Holyfield need to stop before they are killed in the ring. I say sit the hell down and enjoy your money, you had a good run but it’s over now.
When you’re shot, you’re shot
We’ve seen all we’re going to see from Roy Jones. Anything more will only damage his lagacy further.
He needs to lose the slick, laid back style and just go all out holding his hands up. The man knows a lot about boxing but he isnt using the knowledge.
roy jones jr better come out swinging like a caged lion with nothing to lose… hell,.. he even has an hbo gig, how embarrassing if he loses,.. again… i’ll still be cheering for him tho, go roy !!!
Roy is already damaged – why is he still hanging around??? One of the biggest tragedies in boxing history – maybe the greatest natural talent of all time wastes his health and legacy. It´s just sad.
lebedev is tough cookie. RJ is going to get baked. Good paycheck for RJ, but he should hang it up.
LEBEDEV MAY DAMAGE THIS ARROGANT INFANTILE CLOWN PERMANENTLY, AND MOST PEOPLE WOULD´NT CRY TEARS OVER THAT. HE HAS TURN OUT TO BE A TACKY EGOIST WHO MAY COMPLETELY DESTROYED HIS LEGACY.
hahahahahahah
@ Roy jones. Please retire!!
Take away his license or at least make him change his name.
