Wach stops Haggler in three

By Jim Dower: Unbeaten heavyweight project Mariusz Wach (24-0, 12 KO’s) scored a third round knockout on Saturday night against Jonathan Haggler (23-4, 18 KO’s) in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Essex County College, in Newark, New Jersey. The 6’8″ Wach had too much size and power for the 38-year-old Haggler.

In the third round, Wach hurt Haggler with a hard right hand. The 31-year-old Wach, sensing blood, opened up with a flurry of big power shots, knocking him down with a nice right hand to the head. The fight was then halted by referee Sparkle Lee. In winning the fight, Wach captures the little known vacant WBC Baltic heavyweight title.
