However, Mosley is going to be problems for Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO’s) in the first three rounds of the fight on May 7th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mosley has got to put his punches together and not just go looking for one big punch if he wants to come out on top against Pacquiao.

Mosely’s trainer Naazim Richardson realizes this as well, saying in an article at the Manila Bulletin: “It will take more than one punch, like Mosley’s crack against [Floyd] Mayweather to beat Pacquiao. It will take sustained firepower to hurt and drop him. We plan to put pressure on him.” The question is whether Mosley has the stamina needed to land enough punches to get Pacquiao out of there.

It might take the kind of performance that Mosley put in with his first win over Oscar De La Hoya in June 2000 for Mosley to beat Pacquiao. But I don’t think that Mosley exists anymore. Back then Mosley was able to fight hard for 12 rounds without fading. Now, Mosley is in effect a three round fighter. Sure, he can keep fighting after three rounds, but throws few punches and looks sloppy and tired. Pacquiao is going to eat Mosley up if he runs out of gas early. It’ll be sickening how one-sided the fight will end up if Mosley can’t fight beyond the three rounds without gassing. Mosley has the size and power going for him, but what good will it be if he’s too tired to use it?
