Pacquiao-Mosley: If Shane beats Manny, Mayweather will be next

By Allen Hmiel: Photo credit Tom Casino/Showtime – Sugar Shane Mosley will redeem himself in a big way on May 7th when he pummels the smaller Manny Pacquiao into submission and regains the prestige he lost in losing to the great Floyd Mayweather. Mosley has had a lot of thinking to do career wise and look deep into his soul to see why he lost so bad to Floyd. Their fight was an embarrassment to Mosley and he realizes now much to late, that he was unprepared for the superior quickness and elusiveness of the better prepared Floyd Mayweather. Now Mosley is learning to fight again like he used to, and being better prepared and will have a much easier time finding and defeating the overrated Manny Pacquiao in their upcoming epic battle in May.
This Mosley fight will expose Manny Pacquiao as the over achiever he has become and set little Manny back into boxing reality as a great fighter whose time as a welterweight is over. Mosley will regain his pride and image as one of the best fighters in the world with this stunning upset over his smaller opponent Pacquiao. Ability and styles are what makes great fights and this upcoming battle between Mosley and Pacquiao will be a great example of how the style of Shane Mosley will finally stop the Pacquiao express through the lighter weight classes. Mosley will defeat Manny and then plan on how to defeat the Floyd Mayweather who embarrassed and outclassed him in their lopsided fight. Shane has redemption on his mind and it starts with beating Manny Pacquiao.

In the last 3 years, Pacquiao still has 3x more fights then Mayweather. Remember, Pacquiao was still in the lower weight division , but was very active, fight twice a year or really close to. Mayweather on the other hand has 2 fights. One with a lightweight when Mayweather is on top of the WW division. Who is over-hyped and overrated? Pacquiao who is fighting bigger opponents or Mayweather who is fighting smaller ones? Mayweather would never give up 17 pounds to an opponent no matter how slow that opponent may be. NEVER!!

Since Pacquiao became a light weight he has never been in with a really tough opponent who can flat out hit hard and still has the reflexes to move around and come back and attack again. Look at who Manny has faced recently Diaz the worst of the leight champion-Margarito a slow plodder-Clottey a scared tentative fighter-Cotto a battered shell of his normal self-Hatton an overrated over-hyped under-skilled boxer and a weight drained Oscar De La Hoya. Now he is fighting 39 years old Mosley. Great legacy!

Who has Mayweather fought in the last two years that actually is different? Problem with Mayweather fans is whatever Mayweather does is okay, but let a midget actually do it better and it’s all wrong. I never saw Mayweather fight Margarito, Cotto and Clottey, did you? It’s not the midget’s fault if ODH chose not to rehydrate, ODH thought his size alone would win the fight for him, stupid mistake on ODH’s side. lol@article if you believe that why not put your money where your article is and back shane you should get good odds, and that about him fighting all night long, well from what ive seen he blowsa after a couple of rnds, and if he fought floyd again the outcome would be exactly the same, shane as great as he is, and still is, hasnt got the stamina he once had, he has a chance against pacman but it diminishes the longer the fight goes on…

Margarito was mentally pysch during his fight with Mosley. That’s why he lost that fight and FMMJ knows that well. FMMJ had to ask Berto to back out in his upcoming fight with Mosley. Berto didn’t even bother asking Mosley for a fight after he gets back from Haiti, because if he did he might end up undoing what Mayweather have done.Or shall I say Berto might end up knocking out Mr. Mosley. Now it is up for Pac-man to show the world how FMMJ was picking his opponent by undoing what he had accomplished. Watch this fight as Mosley will quit on his stool in 7th round.

Since Mayweather has been back, he has fought one WW. In the same time span, Pacquiao is working on his third. 3x more then what Mayweather has produced for his fans. Only shows how much Mayweather cares about his fans, like his record ZERO! And you are calling us Pacquiao fans CLOWNS.. hahahahaha!

Mayweather is the best DEFENSIVE fighter in the world. I think his earlier years were waaaay better than his recent years. His fights lately have been BORING as F. That’s why the Pac fight would be sooo dope to watch. The best offensive fighter against the best defensive fighter.

Why is it when anybody says anything about Manny p they are an automatic PAC hater ? Is that the only defense you can come up with for your fighter ? I agree the guy is an awesome offensive fighter but you can’t ignore the facts ,! He only fights destroyed,drained,or aged fighters,for me that doesn’t define a an all-time great ! Totally agree with you. Just like you I’m not even a Pac fan but I think his fights are impressive. This guy is a MIDGET and his killing his bigger opponents. Look at the Marg fight. Marg had like 20 lbs on him during fight night. As far as coming off a loss and what not in some aspect I do agree with that but these are professional athletes. Boxers are supposed to learn from their losses that’s what makes some of them great. Look at Pac his had 2 losses in his career.
@boxingfan; I know the name of the game is called prizefighting, I just wished Manny’s recent wins were put in proper perspective. It’s like everyone he’s faced recently are elevated to beast status though it’s just the opposite when Manny faced them. Manny gets more credit for beating shot fighters and gets G O A T status by beating them. Manny is a exciting Boxer to watch but is not a great pugilist. Being exciting and being considered greatest of all time are two different things.,I wouldn’t pay to see Mayweather fight Cotto, Margo or Clottey- especially coming off losses and beatdowns.

No question it will be a challenge for pac may 7…people say shane looked old and tired against mayweather truth is mayweather made shane look bad with superior footwork,quickness,and defense..put that together with a great ability to adapt to what’s going on in the ring and forget it mosley didn’t stand a chance..both pac and mosley mack plenty of mistakes in the ring..finally pac will fight some body who has the ability to take advantage of his mistakes..but will shane have enough in the tank to do so? Its an interesting fight, risky for pac..but not overly..I think manny wins it but will struggle and get hurt a couple times in the fight.
@Sean I said I do agree that some of his opponents are handpicked at times. I’m merely saying that he doesn’t complain he just gets in te ring and does what he does. Pac would be a dummy to complain to Bob Arum. Arum has made him into an iconic star. That’s why Pac had no say on his opponents. I should start by saying I do agree mosley will win the fight. But I also think the article makes one huge oversight in terms of pacquiao’s power too. Clottey said after his fight with him that the biggest mistake margarito could make would be to think pacquiao’s not powerful enough to hurt him and he was dead right. Shame also has to be cautious not to get tagged as pacquiao has serious power. Saying that, Shane is going to be very tough to beat as he won’t be overtrained like he was for mayweather and has a huge reach advantage – he only had a slim reach advantage over margarito and look what he did to him. If he gets his stamina and gameplan right he’ll knock him out.

The best thing that could happen for boxing would be for Shane Mosley to win by knock out! Right now Pac has the promoter that is pulling all the strings in all of Pacs fights. If Pacquiao was exposed it would mean “Pac-mania” would be over, and we get back to real boxing with competitive match ups instead of these over priced exibitions!

Mosley was defeated by Cotto 4 years ago when he still young and strong,and Pacquiao HAMMERED Cotto all 12 rounds, but this is boxing anything could happen, But I don’t think so.
May 7th’s fight should be named “juicefest 2011″!!
