Olubamiwo wants Tyson Fury fight
By Sean McDaniel: Hard hitting heavyweight Larry Olubamiwo (10-1, 9 KO’s), the current BBBofC Southern Area heavyweight champion, is interested in taking on the highly hyped Tyson Fury (13-0, 9 KO’s).
Speaking with Hackney Gazette, Olubamiwo said “Tyson Fury is someone who is definitely on my radar. I’m ranked number one challenger for his English title. He took a lot of stick after that first [John] McDermott fight, but in the second bout he showed a lot of heart and I admire him for doing that and I admire his ambition. He wants to win titles at a young age.”
The 6’4″ 260+ Olubamiwo has recorded five 1st round and two 2nd round knockouts in the nine knockouts that he has on his record. He can clearly punches. However, Olubamiwo also can be out-boxed, because he’s not very fast. A fight between Fury and Olubamiwo would be a big test for Fury to see if he’s as good as some people think he is. If Olubamiwo lands cleanly, he would likely knock Fury out. This is why it’s unlikely Fury’s management would be willing to put him in with a big puncher like Olubamiwo

i think tysons a little bit special. hes got the POTENTIAL. key word. Not the ability at the moment. But if he can reach his potential then he can go far. the mind set for tyson is to throw a lot of punch that arent nessecarilly massive knock out shots…BUT Manny Steward doesnt train people he doesn’t think have what it takes
The War Machine will crush the overrated, underskilled, big mouthed Fury.
Thats a fight i’d really like to see but I think Fury would win on points. Olubamiwo has great power early in a fight but I don’t think he has much after say 3 rounds.
I have a feeling McDermott may actually beat him
and i say codswallop.. fury has a iron jaw and he would have to take severe punishment none stop for a good few rounds to be knocked out. if he keeps his distance and works off of plenty of jabs and rip in those body shots it would be an easy night for fury as larry has a very big middfrift
larry may be looking past big john a very dangerous thing to do in boxing no more so then in the hw division big john to win on points imo as long as it goes past 3
