Mosley’s loss to Mayweather should help Shane beat Pacquiao on 5/7

Shane Mosley took a whipping against Floyd Mayweather during their fight a good whipping against a much faster quicker supreme boxer. Mosley had no answer or game plan designed for the stunning quickness and defense of the world’s greatest fighter Floyd Mayweather. Unable to mount an attack against the elusive Mayweather during the fight, Shane had to resort to hanging on to survive the 12 rounds. But in losing to the faster Mayweather it enable Shane Mosley to learn how to win against Manny Pacquiao.
Where Mayweather was elusive and hard to hit, Pacquiao will come right at Mosley with both fists flailing from all angles. Shane will find it easy to hit Manny with solid punches and will have to hit hard and often. Pacquiao has never been in a fight with a great puncher like Mosley and is in for a rude awakening as Mosley will stand and throw with Manny.
Shane learned the hard way in losing the lopsided decision against Mayweather and his new fight plan for Pacquiao will enable Shane to utilize his power more and stop the bull rushes from Manny. Where Mayweather was hard to find and hit, Shane will find Manny right in front of him all night waiting to be hit. This fight will surprise the fans as Pacquiao has never been hit before like Shane is prepared to hit. Finding Pacquiao won’t be hard and Shane should have it much easier hitting and beating on Manny than he did on the shifty elusive Mayweather.
An embarrassing loss to Mayweather should enable Mosley to gain the knowledge to beat the oncoming Pacquiao. Mosley didn’t lose his punch or power against Mayweather, he just lost how to land his punches. This fight will be a different story as Shane will be prepared by the astute Naazim Richardson to hit hard and straight at the charging in, easy to hit Manny Pacquiao. Watch and see what happens.

Also let me point out that you are using the term “destroyed” in the literal sense, but perhaps @Bri was using it in a figurative sense. Maybe he means their confidence was destroyed (and to go up against a pound for pound kingpin like Pac with damaged confidence is a clear path to “destruction”…)
If the term is used figuratively, then Mosley, Hatton (who was undefeated at the time…), Margarito, DLH, and Cotto were all destroyed – figuratively… the only recent opponent who wasn’t destroyed (figuratively) prior to facing Pac was Clottey (although he was coming off of a VERY close decision loss to Cotto)…

It is what it is. Pac has been facing people who were beaten pretty thoroughly recently (they were still good fighters and were still bigger and potentially stronger than Pac – but they were thoroughly beaten prior to fighting Pac… @Bri has a point).
About Hatton, do you want to say that Pac “destroyed” Hatton? He was certainly unblemished in that fight also (after only 2 rounds of fighting…).
I think that you are incorrectly assuming that @Bri was talking about Mayweather being the one who “destroyed” the opponents (and thus, you are making the claim that Floydiots are making excuses, when in fact this has very little to do with Floyd, but moreso to do with the recent records of Pac’s recent opponents Pac…).
This article is based on nothing but wishful thinking! How could Mosley’s loss to Mayweather help him against Pacquiao whose style is very different from Mayweather? Can’t see any logic at all.
What showtime say’s Mosley going to do sounds good on paper. The more likely scenario is that when the punches fly Mosley will get hurt early and try to survive as he did with Mayweather. This fight wouldn’t even be happening if Mayweather had decided to fight Manny. Mayweather is the ducker here, let’s not forget it. So for now, you get a has-been, once great fighter sent out on his shield.

Mosley learned nothing from the Floyd fight other than he is a worn-down, should-ve already retired, clinging only to past glory, has-been. Why didn’t you mention anything about his last fight, with Sergio Mora where he looked like an old man.
Pacquiao will surely retire him, permanently (aka Oscar, Hatton, etc.

You missed the point…
Hatton was “destroyed” by Floyd (Floyd landed 39% vs Hattons 17%, outlanded him by 48 power shots at 39%, was only hit 63 times – 5 times per round, knocked Hatton down 2x and knocked him out late in the fight…. I’d call that destruction…

My belief is, boxing is like a game of chess. If your’e on offensive move and your offense is good, your’e at advantage.
Pacquiao is the best offensive fighter on this planet, his stamina is second to none. He is a fast southpaw power puncher who throws up to 6 combinations with a high connect rate. He is very accurate with his punches and they come from differnt angles that no boxer can see.

Floyd has ducked a bunch of fighters. Kostya Zhou, Miguel Cotto. These are guys he didn’t want to face and still doesn’t want to.

Manny Pacquiao is a street fighter turned into a boxer. Freddie Roach saw Pacmans raw instincts, which is his speed and power and made him into a complete fighter. Pacquiaos work rate is as good as Mayweathers, it’s just that Pacquiaos unbelievable stamina is second to none. As for Mayweather, it’s genetically in his genes as a good boxer but no punching power. Even Mayweather senior is aware that his lil Floyd’s shoulder roll technique won’t work against a southpaw power puncher with speed, combination and footwork.
If I’m a trainer, I would take a boxer with an inborn punching power with less skills than a skilled boxer with soft hands. If a complete fighter meets a skilled boxer in the ring, in my humble opinion someone as good as Pacquiao’s offensive fighting style against Mayweather’s shoulder roll defensive style, I would bet everything I have for Pacquiao.

Im just mad that old man Mosley is the first AA fighter that Manny has faced. I see Manny is really juicing the easy money fights. Manny will be the first to stop Shane. Wish they could have chose Berto or Marquez. With Mannys drawing power he could fight anyone and draw atleast one million viewers. Smart for the future. Bad for boxing fooling the people with one sided fights. Hope Mosley can atleast make it interesting.

i doubt pac will come straight at mosely if he does theres real danger of pac getting knocked out if mosely lands the shots he landed on floyd pac will be starched cus he wont no how to hang on and tie up like floyd. pac will be on his bike for the first half of the fight using angles coming in to wear mosely down roach said it himself.

All these Pac haters contradict everything they say. They call Manny a shrimp and a midget that gets hand picked fighters for hid wins. WTF I didnt know a midget or shrimp can beat bigger guys than them. Manny is a damn good fighter, yes I believe that some of his opponents are whack but the fashion he beats them is pretty damn impressive for a midget. I mean look at mayweather versus Oscar, one of the most boringest fight I have ever seen. If Mayweather is sooo damn good why didn’t he massacre Oscar. Then look at Oscar versus manny, all I can say is Wow he put a hurting on that guy, like everyone else I predicted Oscar to win that bought.
Then you look at Cotto who everyone thought was going to win like myself. Cotto is a fighter that mayweather has been dodging all his career. I have to give it up to the little guy, he beats up his opponents like no other and is very humble about it. How can you hate on that?
