Humberto Soto vs. Fidel Monterrosa Munoz on March 5th
By Jason Kim: WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto (54-7-2, 32 KO’s)will be taking a dangerous rematch against Fidel Monterrosa Munoz (25-2, 19 KO’s)in a scheduled 10 round bout on March 5th in Tepic, Mayarit, Mexico, according to fightnews.
On the third card, Soto won by a lopsided 118-109. It’s hard to see what Soto can accomplish in fighting Munoz again because he’s a younger fighter at 22, and seemed to have no problems with keeping up with Soto’s fast-paced fighting style last year.
If anything, Soto may struggle again and could suffer a cut, which would mess things up for his scheduled high visibility rematch with Urbano Antillon on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley undercard on May 7th. A cut or even a loss for Soto would ruin his chances of fighting on the Pacquiao undercard.
