Demarco defeats Sanchez
By Dan Ambrose: Lightweight contender Antonio Demarco defeated WBC Silver lightweight champion Reyes Sanchez (20-4-1, 11 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision at the Heartland Events Center, Grand Island, Nebraska. The final judges’ scores were 115-113, 116-112 and 117-111. Demarco, fighting for the second time since being stopped by Edwin Valero in February 2010, cut Sanchez early in the 1st round and then build up a considerable lead in the first part of the fight.
The bad thing about this fight is that Demarco reportedly is that he is cousins with WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto,. Given that Demarco is ranked number #1 by the WBC, you would think that he would be Soto’s next fight. However, Demarco won’t fight Soto.

i thiughe demarco lost what were those scores all about? smells like home cooken to me.
not an impressive win for DeMarco, seems like Valero took a lot out of DeMarco. Bottom line he needs work. Man I wish Edwin Valero was still alive, these other boxer’s suck.
I about fell asleep. I’ve seen better boxing in the ufc. Can’t believe these were the #1&2 boxers in the wbc,i saw better amateur fights from 10 year olds yesterday.
Demarco did not look that good in this fight…………..I saw him fight and get beat badly by Valero…………and I believe that it took a lot out of Demarco …as thoes beatings often do
a couple of club fighters going at it.
