Thomas “Hitman” Hearns gives Bradley pointers before Alexander fight on Saturday

By Dan Ambrose: WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) got to get some pointers from former world champion Thomas “Hitman” Hearns at the final press conference before Bradley’s unification bout against WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO’s) on Saturday at the Pontiac Silverdome, in Michigan.

At USA Today, Bradley said “Tommy was there watching me train and someone suggested that he get in the ring and hold the mitts for me. He started teaching me (about his) signature right hand and how he knocked guys out. And I was like, ‘Wow, I actually got to shift all the weight through like that?’ He said, ‘Absolutely, that’s where the power comes from.’ And I said, ‘OK, I’m going to try to use that on Saturday.”

Bradley isn’t known for having great power, but if Hearns was able to help Bradley get a little more power on his shots, he could make things very unpleasant for Alexander on Saturday. Bradley already has the edge in speed, aggression and experience. But with more power on his right hand, he’s going to be a lot of trouble for Alexander to deal with.
