Pavlik could fight on Pacquiao-Mosley undercard on 5/7
By Dan Ambrose: Promoter Bob Arum says that former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KO’s) could be fighting on the undercard of the May 7th bout between Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pavlik, 28, hasn’t fought since losing his titles to Sergio Martinez last year in April.
Martinez is no longer the WBC champion after having been put into the emeritus position by the WBC. This should make things easier for Pavlik when he starts looking to take on one of the champions. But first things first. Pavlik needs one, perhaps two, tune-up fights to get back his timing and get ready to take on some of the better fighters. He was previously going to fight Bryan Vera on the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito. You can bet that Pavlik will be taking on someone along the same lines in terms of quality if he winds up on the Pacquiao-Mosley undercard.
Pavlik has the better to give anyone in the division problems. The issue for Pavlik is to get his weight down to where he’s not having to take off massive amounts of weight before the weigh-in through the loss of water weight.

i said before in a older post. kelly wanted to unify the belts, and be out of boxing by age 30. I do not see him retiring until 33-35 years old now. he has alot to prove. a focused pavlik will beat martinez. im sure he will get one belt back, defend it, the bump up for 3-5 fights and retire
not true boo, he wants the belts back… then bump up to catchweight 164 to 168
Hey Bruce — How about a simple Google search. The information is all publicly available. Writers should at least try to present accurate information.
Pavlik starts too slow.If he had warmed up and was ready from round one to be aggressive he may have won against the argentinian.
chavez would not be able to hang. kelly would wear him out in a 4th to 5th rd KO. Really he should consider bringing in someone to teach him better movement, and foot work! tho! EVERYONE should love a fighter who will stand there and trade punches! thats what i love about him, win or lose, he keeps coming forward and he can take a punch!
I agree with Evil Scotsman. Pavlik vs Chavez Jr would be an awesome test for each and exciting!
Who will he fight? I would like to see him fight Chavez jr. so we can see just how good Chavez is and also see if Kelly still has what it takes!
The blueprint to beat him is out there. Pavlik only fights one way. Unless they cherrypick harder than boxing’s reigning cherrypicker, Phagiao, Pavlik’s career is done.
Kelly lost 2 fights to great fighters, not the end of a career. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. At least he went the distance more than Paul Williams can say…
Go kelly. stay sober and hammer the body more.
LETS GO!!! Take the Offer! Im ready for The ghost to come back and show what he’s got after having a training camp without drinking!!! for all you haters out there, stop bashing him and give the man credit for what he has done in boxing, and understand we are all human beings who all have problems of some sort!
