Juan Manuel Lopez: will he survive to fight Gamboa?
By Francisco Hernandez: Juan Manuel Lopez is a fighter beloved by most boxing fans because of his brawling style, his willingness to take chances so that he can punish his opponents. The fighter that Lopez most reminds me of is legend Wilfredo Gomez. Juanma Lopez has boxing skills but his temperament impels him to beat his opponents into oblivion rather than outpoint them comfortably. This is what has gained Lopez such a great following in the boxing world, but it can also be his downfall and end hopes for a fight with Gamboa.
If Lopez survives his fight with Salido he should then be facing Rafael Marquez in a rematch. The rematch will be no different than the first fight; both fighters will be trying to finish each other off furiously. The difference in the rematch is that Rafael Marquez will be fighting without injuries. Can Juan Manuel Lopez keep up the furious pace of take-no-prisoners fighting into the late rounds of a fight? Rafael Marquez is no stranger to warring intensely into the late rounds. Juan Manuel Lopez in his fight with Rogers Mtagwa showed some cracks in the late rounds of that fight and was almost knocked out. Rafael Marquez will only get more dangerous as the fight progresses into the late rounds, his focus increases, his determination intensifies. It is probable that in the rematch Marquez will knockout Lopez in the late rounds. Lopez will need to score a knockout early in the fight if he expects to win.
Juan Manuel Lopez used to bull doze through his opposition in the super bantamweights, but this is the featherweight division and many have the power to kayo Lopez and the chin to take his punch. His road to Gamboa is full of dangers, he may not get there.

TWO GREAT FIGHTERS WITH TWO DIFFERENT BOXING STYLES.
GAMBOA USE TO TRADE PUNCHES OUTSIDE WHILE LOPEZ SPECIALTY IN TRADING PUNCHES IS INSIDE. MAY THE BEST MAN WIN.
Gamboa is a good fighter but when he is trading punches he leaves himself open and his power is nowhere near juan ma it could go either way but I see a knockout by Juan !!
i believe so.gamboa may lose along with his other countryman in the heavyweight division.
Wow terrible report bro…salido knocked down gamboa..lopez wull stop salido in less than 10 rounds.
Gamboa,Lopez is the fight boxing fans want to see!!
Even though i think Gamboa will win,if the fight happens it could possibly be one of the best contests in boxing history!
Cuban fighters usually do good in 4 rounds,After that its a down fall.Gamboa is a great fighter ,But to count out lopez is absurd.Mexicans stop crying for marquez.A rematch,He took a beaten.Who lives life in reverse. Its about moving forward.Idiots……….
this will be an interesting bout since both boxers are talented, can throw bombs, and most of all—-both got suspect chins.
GAMBOA RAN LIKE B@TCH FROM SALIDO DIDNT EVEN OUTBOX HIM DID MORE RUNNING LIKE H@E
Salido weighed 138 for the Gamboa fight, and he still couldn’t put a hurt on Gamboa. Since ’08 Salido’s KO victims have a combined record of 56W 37L.
MARQUEZ QUIT AND IF HE DID PEOPLE WILL SAY IS BECAUSE HES OLD BUT THEN LOOK AGAIN WHAT ABOUT HIS OLDER BROTHER THE REAL REASON JUANMA RIGHT HOOK FROM THAT STAND IS FAST AND TO DANGEROUS GAMBOA BEING THE SHORTER MAN WILL BE IN REAL BAD TROUBLE IF HE STAYS INSIDE TO LONG AND BACKING UP WILL HAVE TO KEEP HANDS UP FOR LEFT IF NOT THATS ALSO TROUBLE NEEDS TO KEEP FOCUSE ALL FIGHT IF NOT JUANMA WILL KNOCK HIM OUT IN 10!!
@ Ash, I second that motion. Juanma vs. Gamboa is a must see fight, I’ll vote for it to happen.
Gamboa will ko him early ,too quick too strong for jma I like him but he won’t beat the Cuban
Gamboa will smack Lopez around like a Lil bit€h.
