Why doesn’t Haye want to fight Vitali Klitschko?

By William Mackay: If you haven’t already noticed, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) has been continually mentioning IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) as the Klitschko brother that he wants to fight next in 2011. And for some reason Haye doesn’t seem to be all that excited about facing the biggest and the toughest of the Klitschko brothers, World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s). Why is that? I’ve heard talk of Haye and Vitali getting into a wrestling match in a German restaurant after Haye threw a magazine into the lap of Vitali with a picture of Haye holding the severed head of Klitschko.
If Haye defeats Wladimir, I think he’s going to perhaps fight Wladimir one more time and then finish off his career at that point without ever facing Vitali. This is why I believe the Klitschko brothers need to make it clear that Haye has to fight Vitali first, because that way we’ll be certain that Haye ends up facing not one but both of the Klitschko brothers before retiring next year in October. Of course, if Haye loses to the first Klitschko brother he faces, be it Vitali or Wladimir, it won’t really matter. He’ll be finished with his Klitschko fights, but I still think he needs to fight Vitali first so that we can be sure that he doesn’t get skipped over by Haye.

Wlad needs this fight….If he beats Haye he has sealed his legacy… If he doesnt and I dont think he will ever get into a ring again! Yes Haye boxed Ruiz and Chagiev of what ever you call him beat valuev then Wlad beat chagiev… So what A=B doesnt always =C in boxing…. Valuev has never been rocked like that..ever… Ruiz boxed some of these pepole incuding chagiev… But none of the Knocked Ruiz out..none of them! He got stopped 18 years ago and none of these GOOD fighters in the H/W divsion that are so much better than Haye could KO him! But this means nothing to me! Tyson beat 4 fighters that beat Buster Douglas… but what did that mean on the night? nothing…Dougals won!= clash of styles! Wlad likes to clinch alot now! If you look at Hayes fights he knockes a few fighters out inside the clinch! Wlad is also one dimensional… Haye fights a different style each time!
Wlad cant take mental pressure outside the ring! His head is so easy to get inside… And Haye has done that! BIGTIME.. Hes got Wlads number..Wlads a weak person! Every interview Wlad gives now, he ends up brining Haye up..all the time, and this in interviews that have nothing to do with Haye!
The only Klistchko I respct in Vitali.. Hes done more than his brother….beaten or tried to beat better fighters

ByeByeWlad : why do you think Haye has a chance against Wlad. Haye got some talent, but i dont know how good he is because he has only fought old and harmless boxers. Instead of building himself up haye has wasted 2 years fighting awful boxers like Valuev(he lost to chagaev, who Wlad totaly outboxed) Barrett, Ruiz 10 years from his prime, and then one punch Harrison. This isnt excactly the best way to prepare yourself for the the toughest fight of your life.
Judged on Hayes behavior since he entered the HW division, i have no reasons to believe that Haye is suddenly going to face a dangerous opponent.

they make claim of a champion,and so did Sam peter.you see the result of the real champions,and until Haye fights them he will not be seriosly thought of as a champion.That is just boxing.Only the british fans consider him champ,and will support a meaningless fight of his.

Wladimir holds 3 of the heavyweight belts. Vitali only holds one. This means that after just one fight, assuming that he wins that fight, Haye can be in posession of 4 titles.
If Haye were to fight Vitali first and win, Wladimir would run a mile in any direction to avoid fighting Haye and handing over his 4 titles to him. Whereas by beating Wlad haye can be certain that Vitali will still want to face him.
It makes sense to fight the weaker of the bros first to ensure that he does eventually get to fight both of them.

Vitali is a born fighter and was a kickboxing champion first and you can just feel he would easily kill a man quickly – certainly not out of place if he had chosen to be in special
forces. He has never been knocked out in boxing – he did get a kick to the head in kickboxing long time ago that did knock him out but this was from a kick and at championship level. Also he has not really lost a fight – was easily ahead first one he had to pull out and against lewis was clearly knocking lewis around and many feel would have won. Haye knows he is a warrior!
Wlad is different, but Haye certainly will not beat but has more of a chance to get a lucky shot in that could stumbble wlad. Not likely! Wlad has become a great boxer buy training but is not the natural warrior as Vitali. Haye is scared of Vitali and will never fight him.
@…..Jackson…..Hello Dude, I have to say I disagree with you on your statement that Haye would make a go of it for 5-6 rounds, he may last up to 4 rounds but he would be a horrible looking mess and the contest would be one sided. Against Wlad he would be even worse off, I don’t think he would be able to even get close to Wlad.

haye beating vitali on the street is very funny..im sure it was meant to be that way. vitali was the world champion at kick boxing at heavyweight. he was a wrestling champion and trained in hand to hand champion combat by the soviet army. and is heavyweight champion, the only one never to be knocked off his feet. of course haye wouldnt have a chance on the street, i doubt if any man in the world would. but then there is prize fighting, not a street fight and even though i think that haye would lose in the ring, he would make it s good fight for 5-6 rounds….

As regards the reasoning behind Wlad first, it is simple : haye can Ko Wlad quickly and setup another megabucks fight with Vitali … who will be a far tougher test than his glass-jawed brother !
