Vitali says Wladimir is prepared to face David Haye

By Sean McDaniel WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is saying that his younger brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is ready to go after World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye next, according to both Sportinglife.co.uk, and Golzka paper. It’s nice to know that Wladimir is interested in facing Haye, but it doesn’t really have much meaning because the hold up for a fight has been Haye in the past year.

Wladimir has always been ready and willing to fight Haye, but he hasn’t been able to get the British fighter into the ring for some reason. The two Klitschkos have gone back and forth in deciding who should face Haye first. At one time it was Wladimir, then Vitali and now it’s Wladimir. It doesn’t much which Klitschko is interested in facing Haye if he’s not willing to fight either of them.

Supposedly, Haye is ready to fight the klitschko – or at least one of them – because his back is against the wall now that he plans on retiring in October next year when Haye turns 31. However, some people think Haye isn’t serious about retiring and is just talking about retirement to get interest up for him.

However, it would be great if Haye finally did decide to fight one of them, because this is really the only fight in the heavyweight division worth watching right now. There’s a little bit of interest in seeing one of the Klitschkos face top heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek, but not nearly as much as for the Haye-Klitschko fight. Haye has gotten a lot of attention facing older heavyweights that he’s been able to blast out without any problems.

Haye needs to fight Adamek, both evenly matched except the heart.

Haye once commented that Barrett’s jab felt like a cruiser’s right hand punch. Imagine what Wladimir’s punch would do to Haye? Haye doesnt have a large neck and his legs are not too muscular – this means that he would not be able to withstand the power shots from Wladimir, Vitali or punches from several of the contenders also.

If Haye ran from Valuev for 12 rds what would he do against Wladimir and/or Vitali? Haye would most likely try this strategy against the K brothers also. He knows that they hit way harder than the sloth Valuev.

this site is very biased once u write something they dont want people to see the delete your posts lol wats that all about

  • jackson says:

haye doesnt have a chance against either of them…they are too big and to strong. both brothers have fought guys who are just as fast. and they have fought guys who hit harder. haye hasnt fought anyone remotely at this skill level. not even close. he has fought one decent heavyweight and three decent cruiserweights, nothing good or great in the bunch. vladimirs jab will be the hardest punch he has ever faced—and vladimirs right hand, well, nothing can prepare you for that.

  • AshleyMac says:

Haye has more than a chance against wlad, its vitali thats the problem, as long as his legs hold up. W.Klitschko fans seem to forget that although hes improved his defence, he also hasnt faced anyone as quick as haye since…. well probably in his career, so to write haye off with a punchers chance is just naive. Haye doesnt help himself with the talk, but the reason he does it all is, to get u lot doin what ur doin now and thats talk about him.Whatever happens i take it you’ll all be buying this fight. As much as we love boxing these fighters are businessman

  • rick, the original 1 says:

Haye doesnt have the chin to withstand big punches from the K brothers and from several of the top contenders also.

I bet Adamek would also beat Haye. Haye might as well quit now. He fights maybe twice a year if that. He wants to retire next Oct 2011. He should just go ahead and quit now. Haye has carefully picked non threatening opponents. I would like to have seen him taking on some tougher opponents and seeing whether he could have beaten them.

    @PATPUMP

Wlad has faked an injury and wormed his way out of an already signed contract too, you cant prove anything about injurys in either camp so dont bring that up.
The verbally agreed contract was not the same as the contract that the klits put on paper thats why that fell through.
Haye will punch him out wait and see!

  • BIG G says:

chris i think ur the one in the dreamworld m8..ur right valuev has no boxing skills and for such a big man he hasnt much of a punch either or jab which is surprising i mean this guy had to be givin a decision when fightin holyfield for christ sake ruslan chagaev beat him easily aswell…now uve looked at it that way look at it another way..haye ran from valuev incase he got hit haye hardly landed on valuev during the fight small bursts even tho valuev has no defence…now if he was scared to get hit by valuev which led him to fight like that what way would he fight wlad..he is quicker smarter has a great jab arguably the hardest hands in the heavyweight div great defence and his anticepation is 2nd to none which is why he RARELY loses a round of boxing and is hardly ever hit..now in saying that i just dont see how haye can cope with all those things..i mean ino haye beat mormack but get it right mormack was out boxing haye and wlad is way better than mormack…dont get me wrong im a brit id love to see him win but im not daft he hasnt done anything or beat any1 to make me go hmmmm maybe this guy had a chance and i think thats the problem most people have with him hes took the easy route and to be honest i think thats going to be his down fall

  • Robroy says:

of course the fight will happen, they have been under contract which has to get sorted plus theres the build up so they can reel the fans in so they earn more cash.

It is strange how Booth forgets to mention th following:

Boente had a different view of the talks: “Adam Booth is talking complete nonsense. What he is not saying is that he has told me that if there is another German TV deal for the fight that is better than RTL then we should pay the difference. We have to honour our contract with RTL. Even if ARD [the rival German broadcaster] were to offer to pay more it would only be €300,000-€400,000, which is peanuts when compared with the worldwide pay-per-view [receipts].

Booth is trying to make it seem like Wladimir and Boente do not want to fight Haye. This is a sneaky move on Booth’s part. If the fight doesnt happen, it will make no difference to the K brothers. They will keep on fighting and beating tougher opponents than Haye.

  • Chris says:

    @BIG G

I think you are living in a dream world if you believe Haye only has a punchers chance against WK. He rocked Valuev in their last round, whilst I admit Valuev has no boxing skills he is a huge man and capable of taking a punch. If he can be rocked then so can WK.

I’m no Haye fan and certainly not appreciative of trash talking but I think both yours and others views on this forum are incredibly biased. IF this fight goes ahead it will be a very competitive affair and not the on sided battering you are predicting.

  • DM81 says:

Lets not forget this is boxing, I wouldn’t be suprised if this is all staged. The previous Wlad V Haye fight was probably binned as they kne they could make more money after building it up a while.

This fight WILL go ahead, Haye needed to down Audley first to get all of the UK box office payer sinterested.

Got to say, no matter what you think of Haye or Wlad, they’ve been genius in building this up.

  • Anonymous says:

Haye will make the decision on his future and that is that.Don,t expect this fight to come off.

  • Alpha says:

Nice article! Haye v Wlad will be amazing fight for boxing fans. This is a very dangerous fight for Wlad becuase he is facing a prime puncher/counter puncher with 90% + knockout ratio, fast hands and great footwork. If Haye lands one if his counter punch on Wlads chin, it could be an early night for Wlad. But if Wlad jabs effectively all night and Haye cant find any answer to that then Wlad will knock Haye out or TKO later rounds.

  • Anonymous says:

haye will not fight him he will pretend he is up for it then find an excuse.

  • john j says:

haye will go through all the motions but will not fight he knows he will loose, stick to the likes of audrey harrison and john ruiz .

  • Insider says:

Haye as give Wlad all the demands he wanted it will be 50:50 revenue split and Haye camp have agreed to everything Wlad wants and are now waiting for Wlad, This artical is tripe and is all made up by the writer. Read the news before writing it.

Haye as never ducked the K’s its other way round. Now we will see if this fight does not happen it is down to the K’s not Haye.

  • bloodfight says:

this fight will never happen. you cant blame either 1 individualy. they are both to blame. there is to much risk for both fighters personaly and they have a lot to lose in a loss. i cant see it happening because of the to egos involved, never hapen fact

  • Blahblahblah says:

Wladimir offered Haye this deal a year ago, and Haye was absolutely silent for months — until Wladimir signed to fight Peter. Then suddenly Haye reappeared and started mouthing off to the media about how he wanted to “negotiate” with Wladimir. The UK media ate it up uncritically, and the Haye fanboys started chanting about how Wladimir is “unfair” to Haye and how both Klitschkos are ducking the great champion David Haye.

David Haye has really been pushed into a corner this time. Both brothers are available to fight. Vitali immediately, and Wladimir probably for April/Maye. (Remember when Wladimir was available, Haye said he’d prefer to fight Vitali. Now Vitali is available, and Haye seems to have lost interest.) Haye has no option but to fight one of the Klitschkos in the first half of 2011. If he tries to fight another punching bag from outside the top 20 heavyweights, even his fanboys will stop supporting him.

Still, I’ll believe this fight when I see it.

  • boombastic says:

You people that claim Haye will never fight Wladimir due to cowardice are idiots…I would fight the big nugget for the sort of payday Haye will get, Haye wants to retire soon, and that will take loads of cash, so the fight will happen.

  • rofl says:

so where are the idiot haye fans who used to say Vitali is protecting his lil brother ????????????? seee how stupid u are… any of two bros WILL DESTROY HAYE.

  • TrueBoxingFan says:

Booth and Haye have said they will give a 50 – 50 split of all money !

the ball is in Wladimir’s court …. however i expect an additional clause in any contract saying the fight will happen in LA or UK and Wladimir to back out

  • Breaking News says:

Haye’s trainer Adam Booth has just announced that they are willing to split the whole purse down 50-50 including the UK TV money, just like Wlad wanted. Story is on Sky Sports website. So we might not be far away from a deal……..well maybe!

  • site owner/manager says:

all you guys that are saying haye is scared to fight are crazy he a proffesional boxer he fought the mandatory challenger (ruiz) when he had to he fought audley for the pay day it was easy money the fight broke down last time due to the klitch rediculous rematch clause! it will go ahead this time april next year it will be a cracking build up but the fight wont be pretty haye will find his chin and its lights out! haye is the most devastating puncher since tyson not bad for a blown up cruiserwheight !!!!!!!!!!!

  • DeadScared says:

Knock it off Vitali. Nobody believes Haye except his own kind.

  • Phoney Baloney says:

Haye will come up with another excuse.

  • BIG STUFF says:

Maybe Haye could fight Audley Harrison again and fill up Wembley or Manchester, This time however they should wear Ballet costumes.

  • Haley says:

    Very well written article Sean.
The “Hayemaker” has no intention of getting into the ring with either of the Klitschko’s. He is stringing the Brits along and even though a lot of the British fans have caught on to the “Hayemaker”, there are still some who want to believe that he is for real. It is unfortunate. If the recent farce with Audley Harrison did not wake people up, nothing will. That whole fiasco was suspicious to say the least.

  • PATPUMP says:

….BIG G…..Your exactly correct!….Haye has run away, faked an injury and even wormed out of a signed contract. A fight between him and a Klitchko would only be a one sided slaughter, now the big boys really want to hurt him and he is terrified to say the least. His way out of a fight now is to create another English drama and complain about money and telivision……..The English just love drama and he is giving his English fans just what they want….A massive Soap Opera.

  • BIG G says:

listen if haye believes he can beat wlad as easy as u all think and he says he can he would have fought him by now in fact he wud have fought him the 1st time round he wud have took his belts then faced vitali took his then faced wlad and secured his legacy then took valuevs wba title to be undisputed heavyweight champion then he would be finished by now having made more money he could have ever thought…now y do u suppose he hasnt done that and wants a huge purse>???ill tell you why he wants the big purse because he knows it will more than likly be his last fight because when he loses no1 will want him and he will just be another guy who ran his mouth thinking he cud beat wlad or vitali..and even if and this is a big if he manages to win the fight i garentee there will be no rematch because he knows he only has a punchers chance and when a guy with a punchers chance wins its always a lucky shot that wins it..he will not fight both of them…and to be honest i actually hope he is better than wat i think he is so he dosnt get hurt badly

  • PATPUMP says:

Haye would take a nasty beating without landing one of his looping little girl punches.

  • Tony_Y says:

its not a hold up when the brothers say one thing in public and another behind closed doors

  • Anonymous says:

I bet $100 the Klitschko vs Who? will not happen ever…

  • Doctor says:

Wladmir is now in prime condition both physically and experience and good for a few more years, he is only 32 fights ahead of Haye and not talking about retirement.

I would prefer Haye to meet Vitali, more his age group.

Either way it doesn’t matter, he would lose against both.

But will he get in the ring???

  • Clint says:

When the fight happens it will be all over as soon as Haye finds Wladimir’s glass chin!! Haye by brutal knockout anywhere from round 1-3!!!

  • BIG G says:

    not holding my breath

  • English & Proud says:

    This will happen

  • j jackson says:

a balanced article….not much to object to…very professional
