Pacquiao bout against Mosley pushed back until May – News

By Dallan o’ Donnell: Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao will not be back in the ring again until May of next year. Pacquiao was scheduled to fight at the MGM grand arena in April against Shane Mosley, Andre Berto or Juan Manuel Marquez, but congressional obligations have made an April date impossible to fulfill. Pacquiao likes to train for 8 weeks prior to a fight. The venue has not changed however and the fight has been confirmed for May 7th.
May 7th coincides with Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican holiday commemorating a famous and unlikely Mexican victory over the French army. When asked about the Mayweather fight Arum said he has heard “Zero” from the Mayweather camp. “If Floyd was promotional minded he would come to Mannys birthday party on Friday and come out of the cake saying he’s ready to fight,” Arum stated in an article at the Los Angeles Times. I can’t see that happening however and it does look as if Mosley will be given the fight even though he looked very poor last time out against Sergio Mora, only managing a draw.

Team PACQUIAO just want to age SHANE MOSLEY a little more that’s all. Because this fight was to happen 3 years ago. When SHANE wanted to fight PACQUIAO at that time MOSLEY gave PACQUIAO everything the weight and take lower cut of the money. Still TEAM PACQUIAO passed the fight. So PACQUIAO fought the just beaten COTTO. TEAM PACQUIAO was affraid at that time because SHANE MOSLEY just knocked out MARGARITO at that time. Now that SHANE got beat by MAYWEATHER JR and had another poor fight after. Now here comes the P4P champion PACQUIAO ready to fight the 40 year old SHANE MOSLEY. BOB ARUM set up this CIRCUS SHOW from the time of OSCAR DE LA HOYA. I MUST LIKE THE CIRCUS I PAID FOR ALL THESE FIGHTS…….
and you can check my posts here you will find that I have called most of the fights almost to a tee. no one can be 100% accurate even in specutal a fight but I think I have been right on the money. respect
also why should marquez go back down and fight john there is no money in that fight. it would be like asking Martinez to fight cintron again you get the picture. there are plenty of people here who are saying you don’t know what you’re talking about because they know john lost. also the object in boxing is to progress not digress. marquez has already beat casamayor a fighter who would’ve owned john easy. yes I do understand that part of marquez plan to get fight with manny is because of the money you can’t deny that. as for me I’ve been a fan since that same time period. @I spit on Texas. again I don’t know what fight you are watching Chris john vs Marquez. 1st rd marquez won that 2nd rd marquez rocks john twice in rd counters are very good only meaningful punches johnlands jab and overhand right. 3rd marquez rocks chris again counters effective john not pressing attack because of counters 4rd is the only rd I can honestly give john. 5rd more marquez working effectively john going back. 6rd is pretty even but marquez punches are heavier. 7rd marquez wins easy. The announcer is more exciting than anything john has done. After this point I think you get the picture. Ok now Schooled is a strong term. that did not happen in marquez vs John. floyd schooled marquez, froch schooled abraham, floyd schooled mosley. this should suffice

I just can’t see this fight Having Good ppv sales. Boxing is what some do to elevate themselves from the ghetto so I ain’t mad at’cha. Pac fights for the biggest fight purses so all this talk about only fighting weak opponents are false.
Floyd is afraid of fighting Pac because Pac damages his opponents. Since Floyd and his father claim that Pac is a one-dimensional midget and would only get exposed/humiliated then this fight would’ve happened already. Floyd claims he wants to “clean up the sport” so after one fight he’s on an infinite vacation????

I would aways favor the boxer over the brawler. I am a purist and that’s all there is to it.

JMM is very possible. Berto least possible, not because of Manny being afraid though. It’s a numbers game and who will draw enough money and make for an entertaining enough fight.
I am a HUGE proponent of Berto, I think he is very underrated. I still don’t see him as ready for Pacquiao yet, he has to pass a few tests first I think. Let’s see him in with Mosley, see if he can hold his own. Manny will be ready for him when Andre’s got enough notoriety.

Would be a perfect promotional set up for Marquez. Remember PBF claimed he had a rib injury and pushed the fight back months for the Marquez fight. Most believed it was because it was due to very low projections on PPV numbers. I to believe that. VERY SMART MOVE.
With the right amount of time to promote that fight between Pacman and Marquez (5 months) with that projected date, they could due very great numbers.
For us fight fans who want to see the third fight to put a period on the two first great fights, it would be awesome.
I understand that the Pacman critics like the UN professional bloggers that call themselves writers on this site (LAHR,WILLIAMS,MACKY) will contradict themselves yet again when and if this fight is made by saying that he is taking PBF’s leftovers even though they write all the time how he should fight Marquez.
However, Pacman should not make a true legend of the sport in Marquez come up to a ridicules weight, then not make weight. Then not let hbo weigh him in fight night like PBF did. They should fight at catch weight that is fair for both. 140-142.
Remember PBF fans that all of this is happening because PBF will not fight him. Its obvious I do not like PBF. But he is a great boxer. And should have already fought Pacman twice by now. There are no logical reasons for him to not be taking this fight. So until he steps up, pacman should fight in my opinion these fighters in this order:
1.Marquez
2.Berto
3.Martinez (@ a Catch Weight) that is fair for both.
I guarentee they won’t fight mosley, it’s to dangerous. Mosleys still fast and has the power to knock pacman out. Even if mosley didn’t win this fight will definitly be a hard bout. The last thing pacman wants to do is look bad against the old man, espcially considering how easily floyd beat him. I just don’t see this happening, I know people think mosley is so over the hill cuz how he’s looked in recent fights, which is stupid considering the styles of both fighters. I definitly think if this fight is made even at this age I think mosley will be the biggest and most dangerous fight pacquaio ever took.
