By Jason Kim: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) is hoping that he and IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 39 KO’s) next year in possibly March or June. Haye hopes that the fight will take place at the Wembley Stadium in England, no doubt hoping that the huge crowd that would likely show up would give him a big enough boost to pull off an upset.

In the sun.co.uk, Haye said “I will move heaven and earth to get the bout with Klitschko in England. Wembley would be the ideal place for such a big fight, but of course, there is the weather to contend with. It’s looking likely for next March in Las Veas, though maybe we could push it back six weeks because of the weather. It’s so unpredictable. I want Wlad’s brother Vitali before I retire next November as well. When I beat Wladimir, and take his IBF and WBO titles, it will be a long step down the road to unifying the division. I can finish it off by taking Vitali’s WBC title.”

It doesn’t seem likely that Haye can beat both of the Klitschkos or even one of them. He stands a decent – but not good – chance at beating Wladimir if he can get close enough to land his shots while Wladimir is attempting to clinch. But on the outside, Haye’s reach is too limited and he moves too much to have much of a chance of beating the tall 6’6″ Wladimir. Haye would have to rush Wladimir because he won’t hurt him with single pot shots. It takes combinations to beat Wladimir.

The fights will never happen unless Haye is willing to give during the negotiations because the best he can hope for is a 50-50 deal. He needs to take it unless Haye wants to waste his time taking on heavyweights like Kali Meehan and Ruslan Chagaev.
