Does Pacquiao ever intend on defending his WBO title against Kell Brook?

By Chris Williams: Since capturing the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title last year against Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) has defended the title once against Joshua Clottey in March of this year. On May 7th, Pacquiao will defend the title for a second time against 39-year-old Shane Mosley, who isn’t currently ranked in the top 15 by the WBO.
I think Pacquiao needs to defend the title against Brook because is ranked #1 and he’s been waiting awhile now for his shot. While some boxing fans will argue that Book hasn’t fought anyone, he’s beaten former #1 contender Michael Jennings by a recent stoppage. That’s enough for me for Brook to be worthy of getting a title shot. I think the WBO needs to strip Pacquiao of his WBO belt. If he’s not going to defend the title against Brook, then they need to take away from him and let Brook fight for it against number #3 ranked WBO challenger Mike Jones.
Brook has worked too hard to get to the position where he is today just to get ignored and passed over while Pacquiao beats old or washed up guys that don’t compare to him. Brook would probably give Pacquiao a much better fight than Mosley will at this point in Mosley’s career.

Anyone who thinks promoters of top ranked ,world class fighters will go by the rules of the belt organisations is clearly naive to put it politley.It is all about, and only about money.I would love to watch Pacquiao knock out slow and boring kell brook in 2 rounds but i doubt the organisers are going to let Pacquiao fight Brook as he would not generate half the amount of notable fighters who have proven world class talent.
Kell Brook is a decent fighter who will get his chance.
He is virtually unknown outside the UK and it’s a shame he hasn’t faught any ‘famous’ fighters yet.
To become a well known fighter you have to beat other well knowns, but no well knowns fight you because your unknown. Horrible cycle, but brooks day will come.

Kelly Brook’s fights were all held in the UK against so so opponents. Kelly should fight a named welterweight first such as Joshua Clottey if he wants to be given a ticket to be in a lottery for a PAC fight.
Being no 1 in a division doesn’t mean anything unless it has a win record against an established opponent.
Real BOxing fans know there is a ranking system other than the Pound for Pound top 10 list! All of these different Titles have there rankings and Kell Brooks is in first in line to fight Manny Pacquiao and Manny Knows this! They tell him who he has to fight and he comes up with a bigger fixed money fight to avoid his number one challeng. To sum it all, Floyd was too terified he had no more excuses to duck Pacqaiao and decided to play dumb and say he was not aware of any negotiation.
