Welterweight Gavin Tait signs with Mickey Helliet

Sheerness light-welterweight Gavin Tait came back with a convincing win, defeating London based South African Bheki Moyo at a dinner show hosted by the Mayfair Sporting Club at London’s plush Millennium Hotel . The win for Tait who resides in Sheppey could have opened some exciting opportunities for his career and there has already been talk of a title fight in 2011. Gavin said, “The priority is to get boxing regularly. My career has stagnated at times because I’ve never had the backing of a major promoter but I’ve now done a deal with Mickey Helliet who is well known on the boxing scene and will be able to get me the right fights to move forward”.

Helliet, who is based in London, currently manages over 40 boxers including flyweight sensation Ashley Sexton and Tyson conqueror Danny Williams told us, “I am really pleased at the prospect of working with Gavin, he has a real crowd pleasing, all-action style and has been in some great fights, this latest bout was certainly the best fight of the night and now I’m looking to give Gavin the platform and correct preparation so that he can fulfil his potential.”
