Hunky Dorys Fight Night: Weigh In

The weigh in for Saturday’s Hunky Dorys Fight Night at the Breaffy House Resort in Castlebar takes place tomorrow (Friday) at 1pm at the Breaffy House Resort.

All the fighters on Saturday’s card will weigh in including the protagonists in the main event, unbeaten Cavan star, Andy Murray and his opponent, world number 14 rated Brazilian, Claudinei Lacerda.

The chief supporting bout will also step on the scales as unbeaten Irish Featherweight, Patrick Hyland takes on Italian based Albanian Suat Laze in a bout that pits the European number 12 (Hyland) against the European number 14 (Laze).

The scales will also be put to the test by hard hitting heavyweights Martin “Iron Man” Rogan and Mike “The Rebel” Perez as they feature in separate bouts on Saturday.

There will be plenty of local interest in tomorrow’s weigh in as Mayo native John Waldron and Belfast’s Ciaran Healy tip the scales ahead of the first ever Irish title fight in Mayo with Waldron defending his Irish Light Heavyweight title and bidding to gain revenge over Healy. The Belfast man holds a points win over Waldron going back to 2008.

Waldron will be joined on the card by fellow Mayo men, Geesala’s Henry “The Western Warrior” Coyle, Westport’s Finbarr “The Rock” Eade while Roscommon man Darren Cruise will make the short trip from Castlerea for his second professional bout.

The weigh in starts at 1pm and is open to the public.

Saturday’s Hunky Dorys Fight Night kicks off at the Breaffy House Resort from 6pm with a total of 9 fights on the bill.

RTÉ TWO’s live coverage of the bout starts at 9:30pm with the Andy Murray and Patrick Hyland fights televised live. Live online coverage will also be available online at www.rte.ie with the event streamed live, worldwide for free from 9:30pm.
