Tickets On Sale Now For L.A. Matadors Home-Opener At Nokia Theatre This Sunday

MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2010) – - The L.A. Matadors, Los Angeles’ team in the groundbreaking, global World Series of Boxing, will host their home-opener at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 28, against the Mexico City Guerreros. The fighters in the World Series of Boxing are competing for a spot in the 2012 Olympic Games in London as the World Series of Boxing is the first league of its kind allowing boxers to retain their Olympic eligibility.

Tickets, starting at $20, can be purchased by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000. Tickets can also be purchased at the Nokia Theatre box office beginning Sunday, Nov. 28.

Doors at Nokia Theatre open at 6:30 p.m. with the first bout schedule for 7:30 p.m.

Sunday’s card will feature two-time Olympian Rau-Shee Warren and Pico Rivera native and 2009 USA National Boxing Championships Silver Medalist Javier Torres. Warren is looking to become the first boxer to compete in three consecutive Olympic games.

The Matadors opened their season Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Miami, Fla. against the Miami Gallos and scored a 3-1 loss.

    “Tickets, starting at $20″ True but those tickets have 17.40 of charges added. 37.40 for the starting price seems expensive for this type of event.
