Paul Smith says he’s going to give James DeGale a boxing lesson

Paul Smith has fired back after James DeGale claimed he was the perfect opponent for him.

DeGale warned Smith that the British super-middleweight champion will make him look a million dollars on December 11 at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

And he described the fight as “a marriage made in heaven”.

But Smith says he’ll give DeGale such a boxing lesson he’ll want to call in the divorce lawyers!

“I couldn’t believe it when DeGale said I was an ideal opponent for him,” said Smith.

“I’ll be his worst nightmare!

“DeGale keeps talking about the royal wedding, but his decision to take this fight was a right royal balls up.

“Unlike his other opponents I’m not going to fold the first time he hits them on the chin.

“He’s a good fighter and I’ve got nothing but respect for everything he has achieved, but this is a massive step up for him, and I don’t think he realises it.

“If he really thinks I’m a match made in heaven for him he is going to be sadly mistaken when we fight, because I’ll give him hell.

“He’ll need a good divorce lawyer because after I’ve beaten him he’ll never want to see me again!”

Smith and DeGale will face each other at the Liverpool Echo Arena as part of Frank Warren’s Return of the Magnificent Seven card, live and exclusive on Sky Box Office.

Others in action include Nathan Cleverly, Kell Brook, Tony Bellew, Frankie Gavin and Matthew Macklin.

De Gale reminds me of David Haye. Very confident and somewhat precious.
