Franco defeats Landeros

After 11 months of inactivity Michael “Lil Warrior” Franco was back in the ring against the hard nosed veteran Adolfo “El Terror” Landeros at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in San Diego, Ca.

Franco who moved up in weight for this fight appeared hesitant the first few rounds and signs of ring rust after a long layoff were apparent. However what did come natural to him was to fight and that he did under a controlled aggression that he worked from behind a jab.

Landeros did have some good moments with body work and upper cuts but never was Franco in any kind of trouble, when Landeros seemed to get off a few good shots, most were slipped or blocked by good movement or a tight defense. Franco’s combination work was faster, more accurate and more powerful then his foe’s and seemed to be better at everything from the inside or from a distance. This was apparent as Franco seemed to hurt Landero’s with long right hands that were landing at will or his devastating body punching that was also doing it’s damage.

A mixture of body and head work would keep Landeros guessing were to protect himself as Franco would land left hook’s to the body then follow up with hooks to the head. With the win the Warrior improves to 17 & 0 with 11 K.O.’s.

“It felt great to be back in the ring, but I have to admit I was a little nervous and to cautious in their. I could have done much better and could have made this fight pretty easy for myself If I just would have boxed from the outside but the time off made it a little harder. Plus I don’t mind trading shots with someone. He didn’t have anything to hurt me with so I figured lets get some work in, I needed it. I think another fight soon would be great, I have to stay busy, I want to fight! I also want to thank everyone for there support, the entire crew at EFX, Ernie G. and my team, I will work harder and make everyone proud to be on my team.” This event was promoted by Don Chargin Productions in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Jorge Maron Productions.

A possible date in early December has been mentioned for the Warrior, Stay tuned!
