Rising star Kris Carslaw has been handed his first pro title shot next month.
The Paisley light-middleweight will challenge for the British Masters title at Scotstoun Sports Campus on Saturday, November 27.
Carslaw faces Leith born, Birmingham based Terry Carruthers as he bids to stretch his unbeaten run to a dozen and move himself closer to full British title contention in 2011.
“Carruthers is a really tough opponent and Kris will need to produce a career best performance if he is to walk away with the belt. It will be his first ten rounder and will give him an indication of what’s expected if he is to move up into major title contention.
“But I have no doubt that he will win because he is one of our most talented and excited up-and-coming prospects, and everyone is expecting great things from him.”
Scottish light-middleweight champion Ciaran Duffy provides the main support ahead of an outstanding all-Scottish undercard.
Glenboigs undefeated prospect Eddie Doyle moves up in class to box his first 8 rounder. Eddie has been making excellent progress and gets this chance to show his large fan base what to look forward to in the coming season.
Newlands’ Paul McElhinney aims to build on his experience as a finalist in the Prizefighter super-bantamweight series when he takes on Ryan McNicol of Govanhill in a battle of Glasgow.
