Kirkland to be released from prison on September 17th

By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao, Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto better beware, because unbeaten junior middleweight James Kirkland (25-0, 22 KO’s) is scheduled to be released from prison on September 17th, according to Fight News. Kirkland, 26, has been in prison since April 2009 because of an arrest for having a firearm in his vehicle. Kirkland had previously been in prison and wasn’t supposed to have a firearm due to him being a convicted felon.
It will be interesting to see if Margarito, Pacquiao or Cotto will agree to fight Kirkland in 2011. My guess is no. Kirkland is dangerous and soon be the best fighter in the junior middleweight division in a matter of months. If Cotto, Margarito and Pacquiao aren’t interested in fighting him, then Kirkland needs to go after fighters like Sergeii Dzinziruk, Alfredo Angulo and Cornelius Bundradge. Kirkland could also go after some of the middleweights like Sergio Martinez, Dmitriy Pirog, Sebastian Sylvester and Felix Sturm. Those would be all good fights for Kirkland and I think he beat all of them.

mayweather isnt looking to fight at light middle and seeems as pacman is gonna av a light middle belt his name has to b mentioned,de pacman mayweather argument is gettin boring now,can people not just 4 get bou it til its actually gonna happen.
Funny how Chris Williams dosent mention mayweather, Floyd also has a chance too gain 7 or 8 titles at diffrent weights but refuses too move from welterweight. Maybe Chris Williams thinks that Kirkland can beat his beloved mayweather.
why did not mention the name of mayweather jr.why always pacquiao who come from 112 lbs division all the way up to 147lbs…why is it pacquiao always moving up in weight to fight some middleweight fighter.why not pit mayweather against andre berto…why they want to pit pacquiao against andre berto…tsk tsk tsk.why they always mention the names of sergio martinez fighting pacquiao or the 6’5″ fighter.why not they pit mayweather instead…it’s always pacquiao… the fighter of the decade…the crown drawer…
i really do think angulo vs kirkland would be like jose luis lopez vs james page this are the kind of bout we want forget pac vs mayflower….

james kirkland seems to have a mike tyson mantality.
two things crushed this long time boxing fan this year. Valeros meltdown and Kirklands screw-up. If James can turn it around and regain his form he will get right back on track to stardom. Cintron would go within 6 and Angulo (an excellent fighter himself) would be made to order for him. Ive said all along that Williams and Martinez would be the only ones who could stand a chance. I cant wait to see.

I dont see Kirkland staying outside of jail, money gives these type of people big heads thinking they can do anything they want without paying the price. He’s bond to make a mistake and go back to jail, it sure is a waist of talent because Kirkland is a very good fighter and could be a future world champion it is just up to him to stay away from negative people and take the positive path. I sure hope he stays in the positive path because boxing sure needs great boxers like Kirkland.
Kirkland should worry that since he left there has been a PERRO Angulo on the loose.
Kirkland’s an exciting fighter with an interesting style. Unfortunatly, he has a screw loose. Hopefully, he can focus on boxing and stay away from guns long enough to compete for the title.
Angulo will send him back to the slums!!!

he could beat fighters like dzinziruk or sechew powell but if he fought williams,cotto,cintron,margarito or angulo he would get fouund out.

This article has f all to do with mayweather, so dont switch the topic to mayweather before the world bombardes this article with mayweather / pacqiuiao rants. Kirland is a very good fighter and i think he will be avoided for some time unless a big boxing promoter notices him .
