Is Pacquiao’s win over Hatton tainted because of Ricky’s recent drug problems?

Image: Is Pacquiao’s win over Hatton tainted because of Ricky’s recent drug problems?By Chris Williams: I don’t know about you but I’m now looking at Manny Pacquiao’s win over Ricky Hatton as somehow tainted after seeing Hatton snorting line after line of what appeared to be cocaine in the New of the World sting this week. The way that Hatton expertly snorted up those lines and with all the alcohol he put away that night, I can’t really give Pacquiao full credit for the win.

I don’t know how long Hatton has been dabbling with drugs, but he seemed to be pretty handy with them and the alcohol alone is enough for me to not give Pacquiao much credit for the win. I’m just guessing here but I don’t really feel that Pacquiao’s win means much anymore now that this cocaine thing has come up.

I know that Hatton had ballooned up shortly before his fight with Pacquiao and had to take off all that lard in a real hurry to get in shape for the fight. I suspect that a lot of the weight that Hatton put on was from over indulging with the booze.

That’s bad, because you got a guy that’s putting all kinds of alcohol in his system and gaining a ton of weight right before he fought Pacquiao. In with the big hurry that Hatton had to take off all the weight in a matter or three months, I’m not surprised that Hatton got knocked out in the 2nd round that night.

I’m surprised he didn’t get knocked out in the 1st round. I think a lot of fighters would have been able to knock him out in the state he was at that point in his career. He just wasn’t treating his body right in between fights. I can’t give Pacquiao credit for this win with Hatton all fat in between fights and probably from booze. Why didn’t someone a little healthier chosen for Pacquiao instead of Hatton, eh?
