Al Bernstein Represented by Canadian Company

Jensen Strauss Boxing Limitee now has exclusive representation rights in Canada for legendary boxing broadcaster Al Bernstein. Michael Schmidt, on behalf of Jensen Strauss, made the announcement today, and added, “Al’s name and associated branding is astounding, and we look forward to representing him and collaborating with him on projects.”

Bernstein, the voice of boxing for the Showtime Networks, is celebrating his 30th year as a boxing broadcaster and sports personality. He was one of the key on-air personalities in launching ESPN and spent 24 years as the main voice of boxing at that network. He also announced the boxing for NBC at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. For the last six years he has been an analyst and play by play announcer at Showtime on the Showtime Championship Boxing and ShoBox series boxing broadcasts and several Mixed Martial Arts events as well. While doing many major events on television in the United States and internationally, Al has also become a sought after speaker, performer and spokesperson, under the banner of “Al Bernstein Live.”

“Jensen Strauss is anxious to bring all of Al’s entertaining live programs, his power as a spokesperson, and his now legendary broadcasting skills to Canada,” Schmidt said. He added, “Al and I had time to meet recently at the International Boxing Hall of Fame weekend and we realized that we share the same vision about the sport of boxing and the business of sports. At the I.B.H.O.F weekend it was amazing for me to see the crowds Al drew and how he effortlessly reached out and engaged those people. We want to give his many Canadian fans a chance to have that experience.”

Al Bernstein said this of his agreement with Jensen Strauss: “Over the years I have had a chance to work with some very talented companies and individuals in the boxing and broadcast worlds and now that list includes Mike Schmidt and Jensen Strauss. I am really excited to be working with them and I am also delighted to have an opportunity to be a part of the sporting landscape in Canada and work with talented individuals there. I look forward to some great experiences in the months and years to come.”
