Paul Williams: Pacquiao dismisses ‘The Punisher’ again; Paul tells us why he’d beat the pound-for-pound king

By Peter Wells: Paul Williams feels once again left in the dark, forgotten by his fellow fighters and left to wonder what would have happened if he were preparing to fighter one of the top fighters on the planet. Williams quiet demeanor has maybe left him out of the boxing spotlight, also his lone defeat to Carlos Quintana lost him a fair few fans. But still maybe it’s him fierce figure at 6ft 1in and fighting all the way at Middleweight that has put off the Welterweight division.

He’s mainly targeting Manny Pacquiao who once again dismissed Williams instead fighting one of Williams’ most famous victims Antonio Margarito. First of all this is as pointless as Pacquiao-Cotto 2, it’s a washed up Margarito who is still struggling to get his license back in Nevada after being found guilty of loading his gloves before his fight with Shane Mosley. We don’t know for sure how many times he’s been using this plaster in his gloves but it is a huge conspiracy. Margarito hasn’t got his lucky plaster with him now and don’t expect much of a contest there especially at 150 where Antonio will be weight drained and use that as his excuse after the fight.

So I fully understand why Paul is so angry about this, how can a guy you beat suddenly be fighting the best fighter on the planet after breaking boxing rules and losing his last major fight against Shane Mosley. While Williams is left looking around for a new opponent; and may have to settle with a rematch against Sergio Martinez whom he beat on a majority decision last year.

Williams believes that he would end Pacquiao early.

His trainer and manager George Peterson was disgraced by Pacquiao’s last challenger, Joshua Clottey.

The Peterson criticized Bob Arum, Manny’s promoter of protecting his fighters by only fighting those who he also promotes.

Williams’ feels putting Pacquiao in with fighters that real fans know are worthless those who aren’t hardcore fans won’t understand they are being robbed. Arum builds up his fights to make it look like a great matchup but in fact it’s just a waste of time.

So Williams has a fair point, fighters or promoters can’t fool the fans by putting them in with opponents that we all know are already beaten. Mentally Pacquiao has already beat Margarito and if it’s PPV, don’t buy it, I know I won’t this fight only deserves to be watched online. Until we get Pacquiao in with either Mayweather on another fighter that actually has a chance there’s no point in wasting money or time.

    From what I’m reading it sounds like no one wants to fight Paul Williams. Everyone says make him fight the Klitscho brothers or finish with Martinez all bs. If Pacquiao can challenge and talk sh*t to Mayweather then why can’t Paul. In fact I hope Paul beats the living daylights out of both fighters it would be very entertaining.

    If you don’t know who Paul Williams is then first of all your not a true boxing fan and secondly you are seriously missing out.

  • Ironman says:

    for those of you that don’t know pw is a legitimate welterweight he chose to campaign in 3 higher weight classes to stay active (cause no one would fight him). but, in his defense to be the best you gotta fight the best. he has the tools to beat what the boxing world considers the p4p best. a cotto vs pacman 2 is a disgrace and this fight shouldn’t be entertained nor mentioned. every boxer deserves a shot at greatness. real boxing fans will salivate a count down of pw vs pacman. at this point to say this is about money is becoming more and more an unacceptable excuse. pacman lost a couple of fights which included a ko in his career but, he was given an opportunity to be where he’s at today. why can’t pw get his shot at greatness? because he’s freakishly tall, lanky, has a rediculous reach and wing span, throws alot of punches?? i’ve followed this man’s career and he was dodged by margarito, after the loss. (which had a rematch clause) sergio martinez wanted no part of a rematch. now he does cause he’s in the same fear catagory as pw(no one wants to fight him). freddy roach once said and i quote a fight with pw isn’t in our best interest the man is too tall. mayweather won’t entertain it. but these are boxing’s p4p best. i said it before and i’ll say it again although it’ll never happen whether it’s mayweather or pacman they will loose if they ever grew the courage to fight pw. i really hope they man up and step to the plate and give this man the opportunity he so rightfully deserves.

    I think your comments reflect the Philipino society rather than Pacman. A great boxer yes, but great at about half of the other things you mentioned? I doubt it. Anyone who has heard manny sing can account for how delusioned the philipino people must be to worship someone, simply because they are the only talented sportsman in the country, for accomplishments that they are truely terrible at. To say that he will be a future president is just plain scary if true! I know people in England have a habit to big people up, but it’s like putting David Beckham as the next prime minister. Oh and I have to say Paul williams is physically far too much for pacman.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    GBP didn’t deny negotiations took place. They never came out to refute Ellerbe’s statement that nothing ever happened, however.

    Greenburg did not specify who he dealt with on Mayweather’s side. Ellerbe? Haymon? Just Schaefer? Arum said Mr. Greenburg was communicating between himself and Haymon, but Ellerbe denies anyone spoke with him, Haymon or Schaefer.

    Ooooops!

    …ryan

  • Frankly says:

    I’m trying to ponder on what the GBP will gain from denying that negotiation has ever taken place. There were comments of “GAG order” and Oscar off record comment of “deal was close to being done”.

    What complicated it further was Floyd Jr’s response after the deadline of “I am not thinking of boxing at this time”.

    Behind the curtains, there is something happening and Arum’s comment that all issues were resolved with no denial from the other side begs the question ” What has changed then if all issues were resolved??

    Is the stand of “No Negotiation” ever taking place was GBP fail safe approach as long as Ross complies with the “GAG” order and no damage done??

    What do Ross has to gain or lose with the coming out of the statement?

    Well, Schaefer has just released as statement ” I find it extremely unprofessional the President of HBO Sports would issue this statement before this weekend GBP card?

    WHO IS THE LIAR/S THEN

  • An Honest Pacman Fan says:

    Just an update to everyone, just released by Ring…

    Ross Greenburg Statement:

    “Fights like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao are significant because of these fighters’ ability to connect with sports fans around the world. It’s unfortunate that it won’t happen in 2010. I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2nd, carefully trying to put the fight together. Hopefully, someday this fight will happen. Sports fans deserve it.”

  • An Honest Pacman Fan says:

    I’m actually against the idea of Pac fighting Marg… just for the reason that I don’t think Marg deserves the payday.

    But a question to everyone,
    Who’s style would you prefer:
    - Arum’s who pits his fighters (including stars) together?
    - Al Haymon who won’t?

  • JAZZ The Truth says:

    If Al Haymon is really a good business man, a Floyd/Williams fight is a money making event. But the will on Floyd’s part is not there. He is taking a vacation. Floyd is not getting any younger either as he is 33 years old. I don’t know if Haymon has any Floyd cards to play as time drags on.

  • kray says:

    @olympic medalist – PW and Floyd have the same representation…Al Haymon. Incidentally, Berto does too.

    If this were Top Rank, and Williams was coming off a loss, and at a low point in his career, you might get that fight.

    As it stands, Haymon is not going to play this card, yet, or ever.

  • JAZZ The Truth says:

    I still don’t get it. Al Haymon, P Williams manager, was supposed to be close to Team Mayweather. The Floyd/Williams would have been easily made if Floyd really wants it. I really don’t know why Paul is calling PAC out instead of PINK FLOYD.

    So maybe a fight with PINK FLOYD would just never happen for reasons only known to Al Haymon.

  • olympic medalist says:

    In the first place, why call out Manny and not Floyd Jr? The whole Mayweather clan insists that Floyd is the true P4P king, the cash cow, the all time greatest, the best defensive, the face of boxing, the true fighter of the decade, a clean fighter free of PEDS, with an immaculate 41-0 …etc etc.

    Is PW is barking at the wrong tree? Or, is PW choosing the smallest man hence is the easier fight? Or, is he acknowledging that Pacman is the true P4P king, fighter of the year and of the decade? Or, a fight with Pacman will give comparable PPVs same as with a PW vs FMJ fight? You’re guess is as good as mine.

  • T-BONE says:

    The door is open for mayweather vs williams now.

  • kray says:

    A fight with PW and Pac could either look like PW vs Quintana II, or Manny vs ODLH. It would be an interesting matchup. And one Top Rank will NEVER pursue. Everyone knows how this works by now. Stay tuned for Pac v Cotto II next year.

    PW needs to just stop dwelling on this. If he picks a division and cleans it out, he will either get the big paydays at some point, or he will rule the division, and force the fighters to come through him.

  • preston says:

    Ryan I am just now able to read your respond to my post……..sorry its been a hectic day for me. But I have never said that Manny was a bad fighter……I think that he is one of the most exciting fighters in the sport today….I cant take that away from him….and concernign his fight with Cotto……Manny gets his due for blasting away him too. But what I do not like is the fact that he is now facing Antonio Margarito when he clearly can be facing a more worthy opponent. What has Margarito done to deseve this? As I said before hindsight is 20/20. but it is increasingly apparent that Pac is taking on guys who have very little left in the tank, or stylistically pose zero threat to him. When was the last guy that Pac fought that hand any good hand speed?? And talking about Floyd Mayweather does not make Manny’s record any worse or better…..I think that we sould evaluate those guys records based on their own merits. Manny just seems to be establishing a very shaky legacy now, when he should clearly by cementing it by taking on guys who are not trying to rebuild themselves.

  • seelisilus says:

    pacman did not dismiss williams.it’s just that arum thinks that fight won’t sell. btw, pacman let arum choose who he’ll fight next. arum chose margarito, believing that the public won’t buy pacman-cotto 2.

  • The Technical Fighter says:

    @MOO, the reason Berto has a chance is that yes he throws 2 or 3 at a time but VERY HARD! Pacquiao is VERY EASY to hit.

    3 or 4 from Berto, and I think Pacquiao would kiss the canvass. All in all, I would LOVE TO SEE THAT FIGHT!!!!

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @GHOST

    Clever wordplay with my name. What are you comparing Hearns and Williams for then? Hearns beat Middleweights and higher and made a name doing it. He was WW for the early part of his career but moved up. PW is going down to WW for two reasons: Manny and Floyd. Prove otherwise.

    @Cam

    I didn’t say I agreed with Manny letting his promoter control his voice. I actually said I wished he’d speak up more no? Arum is not a bad promoter though, however you might dislike him. Why did Manny leave GBP? Can you tell me that?

    And I’m not saying PW instills fear against guys like Manny, but he poses an awkward style match-up for to current top WW’s. Williams needs to fight Martinez or Cintron first, and win convincingly, before I call him an A-fighter. Sorry if tgat bugs you.

    …ryan

  • Blast Off says:

    If Floyd had stopped the madness and agreed to fight Pac, PW and AM wouldn’t be on the plate. Of course Pac is gonna take an easy, last minute fight. He should never fight PW because the guy is just too big. That’s also why Floyd never fought him. They know better.

  • Duran says:

    Paul Williams wants to fight Pacquiao because he wants get paid good,thats about it.Boxing is a business! And I wonder why he is not calling out Mayweather, the way he is calling out Pacquaio! Mayweather will school Williams. And also settle his business first with Martinez, because I think he actually lost that fight with Martinez.

  • Gee says:

    @BOXTOP123
    MY BAD IT WAS JUST TWO FIGHTS! BUT MY POINT WAS THAT THE BOXING GAME IS RUN BY POLITICS NOT STATS. WILLAIMS NEEDS TO ANSWER THE BOSSES QUESTION NOT THE FAN. MONEY MAY HAS NO LOSSES BUT THE ONLY TOP GUY IN 147 THAT HE FOUGHT WAS MOSLEY. HOW DID MOSLEY GET THAT FIGHT, I’LL TELL YOU HOW! CASH!! NOW A DAZ YOU IF YOU GOT THE CASH, YOU GOT THE FIGHT! THANKS ON THE OPEN EYE BOXTOP123.

  • Cam says:

    @JGHOST

    Honestly, I think Ryan Done just couldn’t come up with anything that can deal with the truth. The truth is that there is no legitimate reason to avoid any fighter if they can make the weight division, period. All this back and forth about Paul William’s height is foolish; if the mans height scares you just come out and be honest about it, but that is not a good enough reason not to fight him; A good reason not to fight someone would be, because they were caught using illegal handwraps in a fight before.

  • Cam says:

    @MOO

    I agree that Williams and Martinez would be too big for Pacquiao, but why don’t people just say that? Rather than making up excuses like height? And if these guys are too big for Pacquiao, that tells me that he shouldn’t be fighting anyone at 154. By him fighting Margarito, that tells me that they feel that Pacquiao is so much better than Margarito that even at 154 (a weight were they won’t fight real threats like Williams and Martinez), Margarito will be no problem.

  • JGHOST says:

    RYAN DONE

    Your putting words into my mouth and trying to be entirely blind to my point. In my posts i have said that FLOYD MAYWEATHER AND MANNY PACQUIAO AND ANY OTHER FIGHTER shouldnt be defended or scared to fight a fighter just because he is TALLER/LONGER…hope you can grasp that but I am a boxing fan first and this would be a very good fight to see as Paul can box and move for a big man with a high output of punches. Also I NEVVER sed Manny should go to MW and fight Paul AND I DIDNT say Paul is better than HEARNS I said that Duran is true tough fighter for going all the way uppto MW and taking on a tough opponent and that Paul poses tha same height/reach advantages over his opponents

  • Cam says:

    @Ryan Dunn

    “Manny might fight PW at a MW catchweight if he were Top Rank. Sad but true. I wish Manny would dictate who he wanted to fight a bit more, but he likely feels his promoter (who made him rich and made him congressman) knows best.

    PW doesn’t have that many fans though, sorry to say. Pound for pound, I would guess Margarito and Marquez would both outsell PW against Manny.

    Why isn’t Paul rematching Martinez or Cintron is probably a better question. He’s chasing paper from the wrong side of the promotional aisle right now, isn’t that obvious?”
    …ryan

    I know this is a response to Trust, but I have to say something. First of all, the main reason that Pacquiao is rich and famous is because of what he has been able to do in the ring. Up until the Dela Hoya fight, Pacquiao wasn’t even half as famous as he is now; Bob Arum is not that great of a promoter. As far as how famous Paul Williams is, we can sit up here and debate that all day, but If Pacquiao can do 700,00 ppvs with Clottey, I see no reason he can’t do 1 million with Williams.

  • MOO says:

    Tim bradley and Andre Berto have 0% chance of winning against Floyd of Pacuaio. Tim bradley has 0 ko power and Berto throws like 1 or 2 punches at a time. Martinez and williams in my view are simply to big for pacman but not for floyd.
    Only good options are
    Martinez for floyd
    Williams for floyd
    SSM for pac
    Angulo for pac
    JMM for pac

  • Trust says:

    PW doesn’t have that many fans though, sorry to say. Pound for pound, I would guess Margarito and Marquez would both outsell PW against Manny.

    That might be true, but I don’t believe for a second that Williams wouldn’t bring in better numbers than Clottey did. Do you?

    This is just my opinion, but if Bob Arum was willing to put Pacquiao in a fight against a no name like Clottey then that indicates to me that his fight selections are not based on just money alone, because Clottey was far from the best selection from a business stand point.

  • cam says:

    There are only a few fighter out their who can possibly give Mayweather and Pacquiao some trouble. Those people are:

    Paul Williams
    Shane Mosley (except for Mayweather)
    Timothy Bradley
    Andre Berto
    Sergio Martinez ( at 154)

    Unless Pacquiao and Mayweather are fighting each other, they should be fighting one of the guys I listed above; if not, the fight is a waste of time, because they will win easily.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

  • cam says:

    @trust

    I’m not Ryan Dunn, but the answer to both those questions are easy to answer. The answer to the first question is simple, Pacquiao will not fight Paul Williams at 147, and I can guarantee he won’t fight him at 154, because he would be too much for Pacquiao. The answer to the second question is, that P. Williams vs Pacquiao would make alot more money than Pacquiao vs Clottey, because Paul Williams is more known than Clottey.

  • Trust says:

    @Ryan Dunn

    Why shouldn’t Pacquiao fight Paul Williams at 154 or 147?
    Do you think Pacquiao vs Williams would gross more or less than Pacquiao vs Clottey?

  • Doc Holiday says:

    P-WILL is 100% right on this…I want FLOYD to fight him too but how PWILL broke it down in the article makes PAC and ARUM look bad. If CLOTTY was a big event then PWILL would be bigger and better. I don’t respect MARG at all for what he tried to do and he truly doesn’t deserve a big fight yet!!

  • vinny says:

    PW needs to grow some balls and rematch Martinez first before fighting Pacquiao. I watched the Martinez fight and PW was getting beat up in that fight.

  • roberto says:

    it looks many fighters wants Pacquiao – small, medium, large. Mayweather is available why not him, you are all crowding Manny Pacquaio he is already confused whom to fight while Floyd is just around having a vacation, call on him he needs to inject his drug juice soon, have been missing it for quite sometime now.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @LGHOST

    Yes and Duran got KTFO for his bravery. Are you just looking for a way to see Pacquiao get KTFO? If so, your plan has two fatal flaws:

    1. Manny would never fight Williams at full MW, that would be idiotic,and;

    2. Williams on his best day is nowhere near as good as Hearns on his worst day.

    …ryan

  • ploy says:

    @JGHOST

    I agree with your last post 100%. We have to remember the history of boxing, and understand how legendary fighters of the past never let obstacles like height stop them from fighting REAL contenders.

  • ploy says:

    I kind of feel bad for Paul Williams. When he was at welter weight, he couldn’t get Cotto, Mosley are Mayweather to fight him. Once he left and vacated his belt, Cotto fought someone else for it and won. These boxers we’re looking at today are nothing more than cowards; all of them. Imagine if Ray Leonard turned down a fight with Hearns, because of his height? What if Duran and Hagler did the same? From Clottey to Margarito, whether you want to admit it or not Pacquiao is being put in fights that Freddie Roach and Bob Arum feel will make him look best. I hope Pacquiao goes on to do what he is expected to do, and easily beat Margarito, but I hope people are smarter than they were for the Clottey fight and don’t buy this one.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @boxtop

    Yes, and Clottey was closer to 160 that night. Hatton was never great, but he was no more washed up when he fought Floyd than he was when he fought Manny. In fact, he was at LWW versus Manny. That’s his best weight.

    Regarding fighting Top Rank guys, Floyd is actually more guilty of this with GBP than Manny is. So it works on both sides.

    …ryan

  • JGHOST says:

    @RYAN DUNN

    I know what his best fights were at and I didnt even have to put what weight he was fighting at because thats not the point I’m making. I’m saying that even though there are disadvantages going against Paul Williams peolpe shouldnt dismiss him as a candidate to fight their top favorite fighters due to those disadvantages. A pound for pound fighter will fight a boxer thats pretty proven and poses a threat even if thats fighter is taller and lankier. Your point defiantely crumbles and reinforces mine when you list Roberto Duran fighting him at MW. Duran has relatively the same makeup as paquiao only a one inch height advantage and he took on Tommy despite giving up so much. He’s a true champ/fighter and is highly respected for courage like that. The height should never be a huge problem IMO only weight. Besides, HW’s give upp height/weight/reach advantages all the time when they fight especially when the Klitschkos are their oponents.

    DO YOUR HOMEWORK

  • ploy says:

    I said this before, when people start avoiding certain fighters because of their height, you know the sport has taken a turn for the worse. Margarito is not even close to being the best 154 pounder in the division, so why is Manny Pacquiao facing him? There are many other fighters that are more worthy of a fight with Pacquiao to than Margarito.

  • DCHOUSEBOXING says:

    Williams needs to fight Martinez, so Martinez can beat that ass again(Bad Judges first Fight). Pac is going to fight Margarito, so its two cheaters in the ring, both whom have beat Cotto by cheating. And this should be a good fight. They should let Margarito come in with Iron on his fist, and Pac should be pumped full of roids including the Hulk Roid, so the fight would be a fight to the death.

  • boxtop123 says:

    RYAN DUNN
    hatton was on decline after kostzya tzyu thus why mayweather k o ed hatton then the 2 fights before pacquiao was a further indication of decline

    as for clottey having size advantage if i am not mistakenmanny gained 4 pounds the day of the fight, and manny’s walk around weight is around 145 to 150 very misleading people think his walk around weight is 125 or 130 this is false

    but even pac fans cant argue the fact that there has to be a reason why he is put in with top rank fighters and he is the main source of income for top rank so why not protect him any way you can

  • Trouble says:

    pretty much I mean that if Paul were to fight Manny it would be at a weight that would make Paul even more fragile than he already is

  • Trouble says:

    Paul wouldn’t beat Manny because the power isn’t there for Paul…Paul will feel Manny’s shots more than Manny feeling Paul’s shots that would pay a toll for Manny making him able to stay inside…Manny is faster with hand speed and movement so it’s not impossible for Paul to get hit…Paul lacks chin we seen him fall with hits that Manny walks through like it was nothin…so think of it like this glass vs rock who will win…I think we all know

  • 2fly says:

    Williams Man up!!! U have no business fighting under 154, man up and do the rematch with Martinez thats the only fight we want to see u in… Hes really 6’2! he should be at 160 but 154 is acceptablem for him

  • JuiceVsBricks says:

    Paul Williams is simply calling out Manny. And this author (whatever his name is) decided to write something about it. These fighters call out each other all the time.

    It’s hilarious when it happens to people you hate like Floyd, coz then you can call them names like “ducker”, That’s why when it happens to Manny you guys look like clowns.

  • Gar 30 says:

    Paul Williams has a right to feel agrieved becouse Margarito doesn’t deserve this fight along with others like Berto and Mosley but back to Williams I don’t know why everyone is crying out he’s too tall so was Hearns but he fought at Welterweight……… and lost!!

    Manny Pacquiao would beat Williams in my opinion and this is why:

    First of all Williams doesn’t use his height and reach advantages and throws his punches usually crouched down so that takes that away from the off and he throws a high volume of punches but doesn’t do it as fast or as accurately as Manny does and isn’t a massive puncher either and has been hurt and knocked down more in recent fights than Pacquiao has so I have no reason to think Williams can knock him out.

    Basically with that being said I see Williams trying to out Pacquiao – Pacquiao if you get my meaning and just trying to out work him in a punch for punch style and that would be his down fall becouse both are hittable and Pacquiao would look like he’d been hit by a truck by the end of it but Williams would be hit more often becouse Manny is faster and can match his endurance and I do like Williams as a fighter and his fights are good veiwing as this one would be but if you trade with Manny there is only 1 result Pacquiao by a wide margin.

    I’m not saying for 1 minute that Pacquiao is unbeatable but Williams doesn’t have the style to do it, a pure boxer with good movement like Mayweather or Martinez are the ones to do it becouse you need to be out of the firing line and counter punch to keep Manny’s work rate down and get a decision.

  • WKANDA the Sioux MagicMan says:

    Pacquiao has the heart of a True Sioux Warrior.
    He never backs down. It’s his coach who refuses to let him fight with certain fighters.

    Transript of his interview regarding the proposed fight with Yuri Foreman from Super Balita, a local newspaper.

    (translated from the local Visayan dialect to the national language – Filipino):

    “Wla naman problema sa atin lumaban sa matngkad, basta’t abot ng suntok natin. Si Coach Freddie ang ayaw. Pero sa aten, lalapit lang tayo ,galaw galaw at dadaanin natin sa bilis, walang probelma sa atin kahit matangkad pa ang kalaban natin. Huwag lang ga-poste (laughter). Manalo matalo, mahalaga masaya ang mga kababayan at fans ko”

    Translation -
    “I see no problem fighting a taller guy. It’s Coach Freddie who doesn’t want to. As long as I can reach him with my shots. I’ll come in low and just use my speed. So I have no problem facing a big fighter. As long as he is not as tall as a lamp post (laughter). Win or lose, the important thing is make my countrymen and my fans happy.”

    To all Filipinos, I apologize if there are mistakes in the translation. The original interview was in the dialect, of which, as I understand, is spoken only in that region where Pacquiao grew up, then again translated to the national language. And then again translated to the English language.

    Another one is an interview regarding Mosley.
    He didn’t know Mosley went into the Wildcard Gym.
    When asked about it he said -

    “Mosley is a good fighter. He is big and strong. I don’t know what will happen if I fight him. But I have no problem in facing him. I know I will still be faster than him. But of course I will be smaller, and maybe that will play into my advantage, being a small target to hit. If I fight him? Only God can answer that, but I will do my best, if I face him. But coach Freddie said no to him already.” – roughly translated in English.

    And please know that not everyone in America hate Pacquiao.
    Maybe many just wish he was American.

    Peace
    The Sioux MagicMan

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @JGHOST

    Speaking of knowing boxing. What weight did Hearns fight at? His best fights were against whom? Come correct with the facts.

    TOMMY HEARNS, 6’1″, 78″ reach

    Here are a few of the bigger names he’s fought…

    SUGAR RAY LEONARD, 5’10″, 74″ reach.
    (lost at WW, drew at SMW)

    MARVIN HAGLER, 5’9″, 75″ reach
    (fought him at MW)

    IRAN BARKLEY, 6’1″, 74″ reach
    (fought him at MW + LHW… LOST 2x)

    ROBERTO DURAN, 5’7″, 66″ reach
    (fought him at MW, TKO’d him in 2)

    VIRGIL HILL, 6’0″, 77″ reach
    (beat him at LHW)

    Now, if Williams wants to pick on the smaller dudes, where his height poses a bigger problem, then good luck to him finding a lot of willing opponents. But he should fill out a bit and stay up at the LMW, MW, SMW, LHW area and prove he’s as good as Hagler or Hearns ever was.

    …ryan

  • JuiceVsBricks says:

    Don’t worry @coward, you are not alone. It happened to Ryan Dunn as well. You can see he’s still in denial. “…Pac and Margarito is simply an in-house holdover until Floyd is ready for Manny, that’s how I see it…”, ROFLMAO.

  • Trouble says:

    I’m tired of seeing Mosley’s name being brought against Manny,Manny will destroy Mosley…Mosley wouldn’t have a chance on beating Pacquiao…Cotto beat Mosley convincingly…Mosley is limited in his skills,c-mon you guys really believe that Mosley would beat Manny if they slug it out…uh uh no way and you know thats what it would turn to,a brawl it’s never really a boxing match with Mosley

  • JuiceVsBricks says:

    @coward,

    Hello my friend. Are you still sore?

  • JGHOST says:

    For those that keep stating Paul Williams vs Pacquiao or Floyd is a mismatch and shouldnt be made musst not know about boxing or fighting. Thomas Hearns was another tall competitor back in the 80′s and the top names fought him despite his reach and height advantages. If you can make welterweight then you should be technically considered a welterweight and if you dont, then your just scared. Out on the street, if someone is taller than you and are trying to fight ARE YOU GOING TO RUN AND SAY HE’S TO TALL OR ARE YOU GOING TO FIGHT AND NOT B CONSIDERED SCARED??

  • True Boxing Fan says:

    Ummmmmmmmmm,

    EVERY fighter who isn’t fighting Pacquiao IS SAYING THAT!!! Clotey, Cotto, Hatton, once ALL SAID THAT.

    Silly…

  • Trouble says:

    Cotto has a chance to beat Pacquiao,sorry he left that out…I know many people don’t believe so but I know he has a chance to beat Pacquiao after all he did almost put Pacquiao down in the 5 round…and I believe Cotto was a challenge for Pacquiao

  • Yo Yoma says:

    Pa Williams reach 82 inches
    Pac Man 67 inches
    Mayweather 72 inches

    That is a disadvantage. Many people would not be able to over come that. Manny is not Christ. That is a mismatch. Pacquaio doesnt need to fight him to prove anything. Mayweather doesnt need to fight him either. Paul Williams would give both guys fits.

  • tom britt says:

    WILLIAMS VS FLOYD WOULD BE A GREAT FIGHT.WILLIAMS WILL SHOW UP.I DONT KNOW ABOUT QUACKMAN.

  • tom britt says:

    ANSWER****ARUM

  • tom britt says:

    WILLIAMS IS CALLING OUT THE WRONG GUY.PAC DOESNT CALL THE SHOTS.OK!THEN WHO SHOULD HE CALL OUT EXPOSE AND EMBARRASS?HINT**HES NOT A BOXER.

  • Hirsch says:

    If Sergio Martinez can frustrate Williams (and I think he won their fight) then Pacquiao can win. And no, I am not a Pac-hugger.

  • The Technical Fighter says:

    @Joker, you fall well into the PACTARD, PACNUT, Manny Booty Buddy Club!

    I like how you guys call the midget Pacman.

    HE’D GET CRUSHED!!! CRUSHED!!!! VS. WILLIAMS!!!

    ARE YOU AN IDIOT?

  • KNG_GAME says:

    6’1″ -VS- 5’7″ LMAO… YEAH, WHAT’S NEXT 190LBS -VS- 145LBS??

  • abdul says:

    williams is 6’1″, mike tyson s only 5’10″ but he’s fighting n heavyweigth, I think williams sould move up into weigths and not against this smaller guys!

  • abdul says:

    williams should call out mayweather!

  • airdukes says:

    Competitive individuals like Pacquiao always find ways to improve their game. Since Mayweather is not interested, Pacquiao seems to be looking at elevating his game to the next level. Fighting Margarito might not be the preferred fight due to his “PlasterGate,” it’s certainly a stepping stone for Pacquiao. If PWilliams is the best in this level, I would advise him to win his next fight and stay competitive and marketable for his future bout with Pacquiao.

  • mr.azn says:

    mayweather is ducking pacquiao and everyone knows it. he doesnt want to put a loss on his record and we all know that. mayweather has trouble fighting south paws and the fight with judah tells it all. it takes one good hit to knock his ass out and pacuqiao has that against him. paul williams on the other hand will have trouble fighting a smaller and faster opponent that of pacquiao. he lost to quintana and that dude is a nobody! so quit your trash talking and fear the pac man. PAC MAN ALL-DAY EVERYDAY!

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @Technical Fighter

    Berto is Haitian. So you mean, until Manny fights an African-American, or a Hatian-American?

    What does that make Floyd? And why isn’t he on your list?

    You really think Berto would beat Manny? Bradley? Honestly?

    Mosley’s style matches well with Manny, but the other guys would get Hatton’d out of there before 6.

    …ryan

  • The Technical Fighter says:

    Williams would CRUSH Pacquiao!!!

    In less than 3 rounds!

  • The Technical Fighter says:

    Until Manny Pacquiao fights 1 African American, I will call him a B- fighter.

    1) Mosely
    2) Berto
    3) Bradley

    Let’s see how he stacks up against ANY ONE OF THESE GUYS! Even OLD MAN MOSELY as Tards call him.

    I think Pacquiao would take a LOSS against each one of them!

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @preston

    Manny may fight Marquez and/or Mosley yet. I don’t think Manny vs. Cotto was a bad fight, because I don’t agree that Margarito permanently retired Cotto from being competitive. Remember, Cotto gave Mosley all he could handle, and ended up pulling out a victory. Why isn’t Cotto unworthy?

    Cotto may not have looked great against Clottey, but that is a bad style match up. It was even more severe when Manny fought Clottey, but that style matchup showed that speed can negate defense, as ugly as it may have looked.

    I’m giving Manny the benefit of the doubt because he is a good fighter. He hasn’t cherry picked any more than the #2 P4P Floyd, so I don’t see the point of the argument.

    And Williams is the one chasing the smaller guys, when he should be looking at LMW or MW guys. He’s overrated imo.

    …ryan

  • R J Hill says:

    arum pac.androach are avoiding this fight no doubt.

  • preston says:

    Ryan, I understand that you are giving Pac a benefit of a doubt, but do you think that history will look glowingly on Pac for not facing guys that were tailored made for him…..yes we all thought that ODH was too big for Pac, but it is apparent that Oscar was more done then anybody thought…..I think that had Pac left well enough alone after that fight, and actually fought someone with speed and defense like Shane Mosely or a third match with Marquez, then the Oscar win would look much better…….but continually fighting guys that have very little in the tank and pose very little threat does not look good……….yes, hindsight is 20 20, but when Pac flat out refuses to fight guys like Mosely or Marquez, it just makes his wins against the past his prime ODH’s of the world look mediocre.

  • boxtop123 says:

    GEE
    when was the third fight between pacquiao and marquez ? i missed that one did pac knock him out? yea go pac man

    sarcasim… FACTS ARE BETTER THAN FICTION

  • Sophocles says:

    Paul Williams needs to STFU and sign the contract to fight Sergio Martinez for his MW championships and stop chasing the 5’6″ Pacquiao. Dude wants to chase midgets and wants nothing to do w/ guys his own size (or near it). He should be fighting at MW, at least. Andre Ward, Martinez, etc are the guys he should be fighting so his awful boxing skills can be exposed and he can’t hide behind his spider-like frame against guys half his size.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @boxtop

    Those advantages are subjective…

    VS. CLOTTEY – Most felt Pacquiao would win but many felt the size difference and strength difference could become a factor if Clottey chose to fight. We couldn’t know before the fight that Clottey would only throw only 396 punches in the whole fight.

    VS. HATTON – Hatton just lost to one of the most skilled boxers in our era, but it was not a brutal loss, nor was it as lop-sided as many think. Why would Hatton be washed up after this fight? I know he got wobbled by Lazcano, but he also won that fight 12 rounds to 0, and he also TKO’d Malignaggi.

    VS. ODLH – Look up Google Archives here, and see what people thought before the fight. Nobody, not even Roach, quite knew what might happen with Manny against Oscar. Manny was fresher, but Oscar was much bigger. Past his prime? Sure, but the blow out we saw, the dehydration whatever, that is hind-sight. Not a premeditated advantage.

    VS. MARGARITO – This match still has an undercurrent of danger for Manny because of the weight. Even at 150, Manny is pushing the limits of his frame to fight a guy who (with or without plaster) can knock you out. Speed goes to Manny, of course, but there’s a risk. The height advantage for Margarito is also undeniable. I don’t see Antonio winning, but I don’t see it as a terrible mismatch (other than Antonion shouldn’t be able to fight due to the severity of his cheating).

    …ryan

  • preston says:

    Pac and Mayweather are starting to remind me of the hamsters in the KIA car commercials….after their mockery of the sport, they are now shouting to all of their fans and the sports world………YOU CAN GO WITH THIS, OR YOU CAN GO WITH THAT…..YOU CAN GO WITH THIS, OR YOU CAN GO WITH THAT…..YOU CAN GO WITH THIS, OR YOU CAN GO WITH THAT…..YOU CAN GO WITH THIS, OR YOU CAN GO WITH THAT……………………..DO DA DIPPETY!!!!!

  • kevy kev says:

    @ryan dunn it’s too late in FMJ career to doubt him becuz no one was complaining about him and shane gettin it on and I dont wanna start disecting each guy career all over again. Pac is ruining himself by embarrassing his fans becuz what we have been saying about manny is the truth and his fans now is upset with him. he shouldnt get this fight going with cheato, as a matter of facts he shouldnt attempt a fight with that guy from the begininng how is manny fans is going to dispute that after calling FMjr a coward? lmao this is wayyy toooo funny for me and I know you are dying laughing right? right?, lol

  • boxtop123 says:

    RYAN DUNN
    you are absolutely right with your reach and height advantages regarding paul williams vs pacquiao. but pacquiao has been fighting with advantages over his opponents as well here are a few examples just to show that advantages come in many forms and we will go backwards… margarito too slow for anyone probably built his record up on plaster hands, joshua clottey, just wanted to stand there and made it clear that he was not in there to fight back (per freddie roach quote) ricky hatton washed up delahoya physically unable to perform
    and now we never know who he is going to fight next but we do know that they have to meet 3 requirments, old slow dehydrated
    so i ask you is that called an advantage? and the same goes for who he will not fight young fast proper fight weight

  • Gee says:

    147,154,160. If he picks a Class he will get the names! To much Politics but thats how it goes. Cotto beats Mosley, looses to cheato and Mosley gets a second chance at the same belt in less then a year and Mosley goes on to fight Mayweather. Marquiez looses two of three fights to Pac-man then jumps over Pac and gets the mayweather fight first. F’ed up but thats the Fight game for ya!

  • vdog says:

    Agree with Williams, he’d destroy Pac & Arum knows it. Precisely why he’s fighting a guy Williams already beat in his own backyard. If there’s any chance that Margacheato wins, at least it stays in Top Rank so it’s a win, win situation for Arum. Pac is only taking safe fights now that will solely benefit Top Rank, not boxing fans.

  • Todd says:

    I think that Paul Williams needs to do more of this. I think that he needs to call out Pac and Mayweather and even get some TV time on ESPN2 FNF to do it. He is talented but is lacking in personality a big time fight with Pac or PBF would make this guy a star as he would easily defeat both men.

  • AH says:

    I THINKS MANNT HANDS PICKS WHO IS WANTS TO FIGHT BUT IF HE FIGHTS WILLIAMS MANNY WILL LOSE BUT MANNY ONCE AGAIN DUCKED OTHER BIG FIGHTER LIKE YURI FORMAN THEY ALL SEND IS WAY TO BIG FOR MANNY AND COTTO WAXED THAT ASS MANNY FIGHT SOMEBODY GOOD OR GET OUT OF BOXING

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @kev

    Pacquiao and Mayweather also discussed a possible fight, yet here we are.

    Pac and Margarito is simply an in-house holdover until Floyd is ready for Manny, that’s how I see it. I only wish it were someone else. Marquez III would still be better than Pac vs. Williams though.

    I want to see Williams beat Cintron first. I’d also like to see him rematch Martinez and not run away from him to go down to WW. That’s BS to me.

    …ryan

  • kevy kev says:

    It’s a proven fact that williams doubt his chances of beating mayweather, williams said “I didnt say I can beat the man(floyd) but I’ll damn sure get mine(punches) in”, whosever said floyd wont fight williams is a lie becuz they already discussed a possible fight

  • catchweightb*tchmanny says:

    manny would probably need a diaper if he ever faced a guy like paul williams. arum doenst “want to give free rides” to paul or bradley, but guys like clottey deserve it? yes i know he works for arum but clottey was clearly a nobody n a punching bag cant even call him a sparing partner for manny. i guess when you are caught cheating, lose your last major fight, get suspended from boxing in the U.S, you deserve a shot at the p4p guy. whata joke
    if manny goes through with his fight against margicheato idk how real boxing fans can give manny credit for getting is his eight world title at a catchweight.manny didnt even win the ww belt at the legitimate weight. this is why we have divisions and belts at these specific weights. bottom line if you cant make the weight then you dont deserve a shot at the title period. its unfair that manny can get away with it, and it can open the door for other boxers doing the same. makes me want to throw up in my mouth people are blowing this guy for attaining belts at catchweights. manny should get an asterisk for winning his 7th title and soon to be 8th if he fights another flat footed statue margicheato.

  • kevy kev says:

    everybody knows that williams doesnt fight his size, if he did it would be trouble for any fighter. imagine hagler saying that bs to hearns or even if sugar ray leonard said that to hearns, bs.

  • Oli says:

    all you idiots whats your problem with williams??

    What is the man suppose to say when clowns like margacheato who williams already beat are getting fights with pacman…williams can still make all 3 weights 147, 154 and 160 and he only does that because nobody in any one division has balls big enough to get in the ring. So what is he suppose to say?? That he would never face pacquiao?? if margo can get a fight at 150 then why should williams not speak up too?? Because mayweather aint gunna fight him either.

    All paul williams wants to do is fight the big names and he deserves to do so. So you idiots can only respect that

  • Gee says:

    Yes Paul got the W against Margacheato but it wasn’t easy. Some people had him the looser in that fight! When he Walks threw guys it’s at 147 and Margacheato has also said he had Problems making 147. That shows What Williams dose with big guys!

  • kevy kev says:

    FMJr fought bigger guys and that’s why the copycayt trying to win a 154lbs belt and fighting at a catchweight. A 154lbs belt is right at those guys alley, if he is so scared to fight those guys then he needs not to fight at that division, excuses, excuses all day of manny’s career he’s the foty and tfotd all this and that but wont fight guys. FMJr was 150 and oscar weighed like 170lbs but every pack fan said manny beat him in a better fashion when he drainned oscar to 147 where oscar didnt fight at that weight in 10yrs, DISGRACE PERIOD

  • Geoff says:

    Paul is chasing smaller fighters, he’s 6’3” he could have found a fight at middleweight where he belongs. He’s running scared of Martinez, he’s not a very smart guy. You can tell this by the way he talks. It’s alot of money in a rematch with Martinez, why not take that fight and prove that the first fight was nothing. Floyd fought Castillo again after a bad night. PacMan fought Marquez but I don’t think he won the second nor the first. Williams needs to fight Martinez for the Middleweight championship and if he wins he’ll stand at the top and it will be perfect timing as the super 6 will be wrapping up soon, come on dog use your brain, have business sense.

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @kev

    Williams has an 82″ reach, sorry. Which means…

    Pac v. Williams = 15″ reach disadvantage

    Pac v. Margarito = 6″ reach disadvantage

    So in which way are Margarito and Williams the same size? I just may have missed your logic??

    …ryan

  • kevy kev says:

    forget about predictions ok. it’s up to the trainner if the trainner has the ability to train pack to successfullt beat williams and I dont think freddie can just like he [freddie] cant beat mayweather. boxing is not about predictions unless you are manny. to say paul wouldnt beat manny is a lie just like we’ll say cheato wont beat manny but they is going to fight eachother right? you get my point here?

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    @kevy kev

    HEIGHT:

    Margarito – 5’11″
    Williams – 6’1″
    Pacquiao – 5’6″

    REACH:

    Margarito – 73″
    Williams – 81″
    Pacquiao – 67″

    Do you notice the difference here? Also, Margarito will bring more money, because people want to see the cheater get destroyed. How big is Paul’s fanbase?

    …ryan

  • Ryan Dunn says:

    P-Wills would have to start fast, something he does not do well. He would also have to increase his speed, something I don’t think he CAN do.

    Can he frustrate Manny? Yes, for a little while. Can he beat him? I really don’t think so.

    But this is another example of poor Paul, all 6’2″ of him, complaining he can’t find a match. I’ve said it before, boxing is never going to be kind to such a freak of nature, so unless he gets used to it, he’s going to have a long, disappointing career.

    …ryan

    P.S. Williams is overrated, and so is Bradley. :)

  • Gee says:

    This Guy had to fight Quintana twice just to get a win. Quintana is good but remember Cotto destroyed him when Quintana was in his prime. Williams couldn’t get thru Martinez and I had him losing that fight. He ducked Hopkins, fought Cintron and even tho Cintron ran from that fight(jumped out the ring)I had Cintron winning the fight two rounds to one cause the fourth shouldn’t have been counted. Thats why Williams is challenging small guys when he has not legitamitaly beat a guy his own size.

  • PBF#1Fan says:

    Floyd would outbox the hell out of P Williams… Floyd has to many major advantages… P Will has no boxing IQ and absolutely no defense Floyd would dominate this guy of yeah and we all kno P Will fades in faces as well so his stamina is in question… And he’s been outboxed by Quitana so there’s a blueprint and he arguably got beat by Sergio Martinez too who is also an exlusive fighter and counter puncher but Floyds the absolute best boxer and most well rounded fighter we’ve seen in quite some time and yes maybe ever!!!

LOL! berto? he should fight an elite first and he’s not an attraction.williams? he should be fighting at middleweight or lightheavy not in welter.mayweather? that coward? you know and the world knows pacman try to fight him and everytime pacman calls his name but you know what he respond to that..isint he told us that his not in boxing world right now and before he said he’s going 1 to 2 years away from boxing?

  • anon says:

    @bible of boxing-baldomir beat judah and had the wbc belt,marg was a nobody at that time he only had beat cintron who also wasnt knwon and wouldnt have made mayweather anymore money than baldomir.plus mayweather had jus split with arum after judah fight u expect him to do business with arum right after the break up and especially when arum still owes him money?!
    evryfighter that mayweather has been accused of ducking has been a bob arum fighter he protects his fighters and makes as much money as possible in stable before fighting other top fighters.
    but if mayweather doesnt fight an arum fighter who wasnt well known hes ducking,but if manny doesnt take fighters like bradley and williams and berto on then the excuse oh who r they,ther not popular blah blah blah…at least dont have a double standard.
    they cud make alot of money selling a williams vs pac fight due to williams non stop punching and freaky body so dont BS!

  • big boi says:

    coward are there any black in junior welter weight yes? but chose to fight hatton instead of any of the black fighters like bradley, alexander, then at welter weight mosley, mayweather, williams, berto instead he picks plaster man or cotto

  • coward says:

    @ mike

    if we analyze it deeply, williams is more a coward coz he even cant move up to middleweight were he has he’s own size there.why still staying in welter were his opponents is way too small than him..at 6’3 he should fighting at supersix right now if he’s not a coward or fight hopkins.

  • Mike says:

    The only reason williams might beat them is because he isn’t a welterweight he is more like a middleweight. Rematch sergio martinez after you got a boxing lesson!

  • Bible of Boxing says:

    I am a huge boxing fan but if I were Pacman I would not fight Williams either. It is a match-up nightmare. Here is a guy who has toasted on the fact that apparently he has been the most avoided man in boxing. Then he has two very tough fights with Martinez and Cintron. I have watched the Martinez fight several times and still can’t decide who won. And the other fight ended freakishly but looked interesting.
    My question is why not fight those guys especially Martinez? The answer is obvious. High risk and low reward. I do not feel Manny is scared to fight anyone but truly he is a small man and maybe that is why he tries for catchweights. I do not like the catchweights for titles but it is probably the only fair way for two guys form different divisions to fight.
    It is not fair to ask one man to make the total sacrifice but unless it is a fight that the public demands, why have it? I do not see a demand for Manny to fight Williams. In fact I do not see it as interesting. One man is fighting above his true weight and one guy is fighting below his and they still IMO, are one division apart.
    When Williams was a welter Manny was still a featherweight so what’s the issues? He was a welter when Floyd was and no one clamoured for that fight. Margaritio was a welter same time as Floyd and despite many calls for it, he faced people like Baldomir, Judah, Oscar and Hatton. Sometimes some fights do not make sense but Baldomir over Margarito? That was plain ducking! Williams himself now seems to be ducking those guys!

  • coward says:

    @ lace em up

    if he fights williams or martinez, i’ll put my respect to floyd..win or lose i’ll will not call him a coward anymore

  • lacem up. says:

    I guarantee you in about 60 days Mayweather will anounce a REAL fight against a REAL opponent like williams! Once again the excuses to discredit Floyd will be aplenty.. Not tested, too big, too small…WHATEVER!!

  • coward says:

    @big boi

    i’ll ask you? is there any black fighters before when pacman is in feather,lightweight that an elite one? now at welter only mayweather is the one but he’s a coward!! bradley,berto, and williams? fight that has a name first..for bradley, he wants an instant money thats why he wants pacquiao, by the way he cant even fight alexander..

  • Marius says:

    Ariza,what do you say?Who gives steroids to Pacquiao?Ariza the dealer.

  • Gerard M says:

    @ jamnor
    Williams could beat Mayweather???
    That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.
    They could fight until the end of time and Williams wouldn’t win a round never mind a fight! I’m no fan of Mayweather but I know class when I see it. Mayweather is the best fighter of his generation by miles,unbeatable. Williams has fought nobodies and has been beaten twice. Paul Williams is not the future of boxing.

  • big boi says:

    people need to understand pac-man is not going to fight any black fighter never have never will keep beating and slow mexican fighters

  • coward says:

    @ matthew

    then why williams calling out pacquiao who is way too small than him? why not calling martinez, margarito, cotto and mayweather. ooooopss! by the way mayweather will ducked him anyway…after how many years why he didnt went up in middle weight and fight he’s own size?!

  • delpilar says:

    williams is just like all the big bullies in town, he wants a piece of the small pacman.

    unfortunately nobody watches him, not even his own hood.

  • jamnor says:

    The truth is, Williams will beat any Welter in any division, and that includes Mayweather. Thats the reason why Pacquiao nor Mayweather will fight him. It’s funny how Pacquiao fans try to downplay Williams if he is some sort of scrub, when the truth is they know who he is, and they know he would destroy Pacquiao, and Pacquiao knows this too. But the writer does make a great point about Pacquiao’s current opponent, Margarito, getting the opportunity to fight for a big payday, when there are at least 10-15 guys who are much more deserving. Pacquiao, aRIM and Roach are all jokes.

  • Gerard M says:

    Williams is over-hyped and very beatable, everybody knows Martinez beat him fair and square last December. His management price him out of any big fights. This guy is not the future of boxing and this article is biased nonsense.

  • Matthew says:

    coward – Because Williams’ camps recent comments are about Pacquiao and not Mayweather perhaps?

  • coward says:

    pacquiao dismisses williams again? why you didnt mentioned mayweather’s name here WRITER? why dont you post MAYWEATHER SHOULD FIGHT WILLIAMS

  • Danny says:

    Williams is massively over rated… he is a bad fighter… why does he deserve a fight with Pacman? Pacman wanted Mayweather, but he was too scared… Margacheato is just a replacement fight… Williams lost to Martinez and got a gift decision… he is painfully over rated and just a wild swinger.

  • coward says:

    @ lee

    is your brain working? can you see the height advantage? 5’6 against 6’3? are you thinking my idiot friend?

  • MBA says:

    I thought Paul is good, but when I saw his last 2 fights…I think, I was wrong.

  • Lee says:

    That’s right, Pac fans. Keep asking who Williams is because that’s the exact same excuse coming from Team Pac’s camp. If you are scared to death then pretend the guy calling you out doesn’t exist. That’s the plan, right?

    “I hab secret, I know Paul Williams. I hab nightmares about him, but I must not tell people because uncle Bob get mad. I lub balut. I only pight damaged pighters.”

    -Manny Pacquiao

  • coward says:

    to all pachater

    williams? why he didnt fight martinez then for a rematch?
    mayweather? why he dont mentioned williams and martinez?
    bradley? why he didnt fight alexander?
    marquez? lets see if he has left against diaz.
    berto? fight an elite fighters first.
    floydiots? ask a doctor to look at your brains…

  • MG says:

    @red
    ya 154lb jr.middle weight title the belt that pacman wants.

  • Floyd Who??? says:

    Hey Paul, you have to fall in line to have a crack at PAC. Why not have a tune up fight with PINK FLOYD who is the self proclaimed best fighter of the era.

    Pink Floyd is free for the rest of the year and the next, and the next, and the next……..

  • MBA says:

    Well, almost all fighters are ganging up on Pacquiao. That goes to show who’s who in boxing..he is where he is now by hard work..So…Paul,Bradley, make a statement fight first with the other fighters…it goes without saying that all fighters maybe avoiding other fighters as well for various reasons…Paul, Martinez is seeking a rematch…why not give it ti him if you think you are that good..Bradley, Alexander is waiting in one corner..why aren’t you fighting him?

  • Eddie says:

    Williams punches are to wide and he’s not accurate at all.

  • Eddie says:

    PAC would kill Paul. He punches wild. Pacs speed will hit Paul 4 times before Paul hits him once. Paul is good ya but he’s not pacquaio good. No one is really. He has the so called best fighter on he planet scared of him. PAC fighting anyone but mayweather is meaningless.

  • RED says:

    MG, all I know there’s a super welterweight that runs from 148 to 154 lbs but never a 154 only title….

  • Anonymous says:

    Williams wants to fight Pacquiao, it will be a David and Goliath battle. Better fight a guy on your own size.

    Why not fight Mayweather? Mayweather isn’t afraid to fight you? Or is he?

  • Eddie says:

    Mg, u forget this man is very small and everyone he fights is way bigger than him. And u say tell him to fight a real fighter please tell me one boxer on the planet that has fought a better caliber of fighters than pacquaio. Name just 1.

  • MG says:

    Oh ya Paul already beat Margarito at 147lb and took his belt so WTF pacman.

  • RED says:

    @MG

    I didn’t know there’s a 154 title out there.. it must be a new thing :)

  • Anonymous says:

    if you don’t know who paul williams is your really missing out, he is fantastic fighter who always comes forward and throws loads of punches with power. He would definatly give pacman a run for his money.

  • jan says:

    Paul should start making his legacy and go up in weight and clear various division, instead of going down and pursuing small fighters. He had his time in Welterweight, he should imitate Hearns and be a champion in other divisions. For one, he should pursue Floyd first at 154lbs and then if he wins go with BHop for his PR, then clean-out there.

  • Eddie says:

    Of course Paul would say that. He’s looking for a payday. How bout he start calling out mayweather if he wants to see a true duck.

  • LMAO!!! says:

    Williams would absolutely destroy Pacquiao. His size and volume of punches along with his skill would be the factor. First off it’s Clottey who was coming off a loss to Cotto and now it’s Margarito who has no license and was brutally KO’d by Mosley.

    When are people going to realise that Arum, Pacquiao and Roach are the biggest cowards out there. Top Rank fighter after Top Rank fighter to give Pacquiao an easy win at an advantage for a world title that isn’t even at the official weight. Cotto at 145 for a 147 title and Margarito at 150 for a 154 title. Williams and Mayweather would expose this fool and make him look like an amatuer.

  • ciel says:

    if this paul williams want to fight pacman, he should fall in line…

  • RED says:

    Paul should be bloating himself and start fighting the middleweights & up! But if he insists just let him wait coz pacman will come after him next year!

  • DeadScared says:

    its paul williams, right? well if he’s not singing, he can wait and pray at the end of the tunnel. sorry, it’s first come first served. and don’t forget your number..

  • martin says:

    paul who?????

  • ciel says:

    williams who?
