Pacquiao to fight November 13th in United Arab of Emirates

By Shaun Campbell: According to boxing website Boxrec, it has been listed that WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will be fighting next on November 13th in the United Arab Emirates.
Due to the location of the proposed fight, it suggests that a fight with Antonio Margarito is all but a done deal. Should the fight come off, it will be for the WBC light-middleweight championship. And if Pacquiao can successfully over-come Margarito, he will claim a world title in an astonishing 8th different weight class. Trainer Freddie Roach is confident Manny could easily blow Margarito away.
Bob Arum says Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito could be completed within 72 hours.

very true, in the old golden days of Sugar Ray Robinson, a smaller fighter had to go up to challenge for the bigger man’s title. Tha’ts what our Gabriel “Flash” Elorde (jr LW) did but in vain against Carlos Ortiz (LW). Nevertheless, inspite of his KO defeat to Ortiz, Elorde is hailed as a Hall of Famer. However, i remember Elorde ko’d Percy Hales who was a WW in a non-title bout. Very few followed SRR so in this modern age, promoters, fighters and the boxing public as well resort to catchweights to have more fights of small vs big men. I repeat, it takes 2 to tango in catchweights. And normally, both fighters agreeing to it expects to win. Blaming the midget alone is not fair. It is very rare to see a David winning against a Goliath.

I am not aware of catchweights in the old days although I am now 62 yrs old and was a boxing fan since the 50′s. I didn’t say catchweight fights should involve a championship belt. As the boxing analysts say, catchweights is agreed between the 2 fighters to have at least a level field for both. De la Hoya was not defending a title but he agreed because he believed he can win inspite of the catchweight. Your one sided view may be due to your hate on the midget.

Pac critics always point out the catchweight issue when Pac goes up to fight the bigger guys? How about turning things around ..that is, why don’t Pac haters ask the bigger guys to come down and fight Manny at his natural weight of 140 lbs? 2) Will bomb on PPVs
3) Will make next Mayweather negotiation impossible because it will bomb on PPV
