Yodsanan Nanthachai planning comeback

by Boxingboy: Former World Boxing Association super featherweight world titlist “the devil shadow” Yodsanan Sithyodthong (58-3-1, 47 KO’s), also known as Yodsanan Nanthachai, may have a chance to fight for the vacant WBC Asia super lightweight title in the next 2 months.

According to a report from daily boxing newspaper in Thailand, Yodsanan is planning to challenge for the vacant WBC Asia (former Asian boxing council; abco) super lightweight title in August 2010. Because this is a preliminary report from Yodsanan’s team, therefore the venue and his opponent will be defined as soon as possible.

Yodsanan captured the WBA world super featherweight title by a 12 round unanimous decision win over the Mongolian fighter Lakva Sim in 2002 at Nakorn Rachasrima province, in Thailand. Yodsanan successfully defended his title 3 times, which included a unanimous decision over the former IBF lightweight champion Steve Forbes in the United States in August 2004. Yodsanan lost his world title to the Panamanian fighter Vicente Mosquera by a 12 round unanimous decision in April in 2005, also in the U.S.

The 35-year Yodsanan has been inactive for more than a year after he captured the vacant IBF Australasian junior welterweight title by an impressive third round knockout over the Indonesian fighter Jonathan Simamora on February 12, 2009.
