Margarito dominates Garcia

By Jim Dower: Making his first appearance in over a year since having his boxing license revoked, Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO’s) easily defeated a badly over-matched Roberto Garcia (28-3, 21 KOs) tonight by a 10 round unanimous decision at the La Feria de San Marcos , Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico. Margarito, 32, knocked Garcia down in the 1st round and dominated him the rest of the way with his customary high work rate. Garcia, although muscular looking, was no match for the more talented and hard hitting Margarito. The final judges’ scores were 99-89, 100-88 and 99-90.

I think he cheated against Miguel Cotto ruined his record Cotto could possibly be on another level now if it wasnt for this defeat. Margarito has alot to answer for. Cheating scumbag shouldnt be allowed to box again. I just couldnt understand how he did so much damage to Cotto’s face so quickly now i know why. No one will ever be interested in Margarito again he may as well retire.

It reminds me of Boxer Luis Resto Vs Billy Collins. Were Luis Resto, and Trainer Panama Luis were arrested for tampering with the gloves before the bout between L.Resto and B.Collins. Trainer Panama Luis removed padding in the glove causeing the blows to Billy Collins face to be horrorable! I mean by the end of the fight he looked just like Miguel Cotto did vs. Margarito, acept Billy Collons wasn’t bleeding as much as Miguel Cotto.Go check it out if you dont believe me! The Boxer(Luis Resto) and the Trainer(Panama Luis)went to Prison for removeing padding. Both of them can never step into a ring again,NEVER! And that was for removing padding. Margarito was caught, (According to Mosley’s Trainer)with a block near the Front knuckle part of the padding. Don’t believe me go check it out, having a problem finding it email me, I promise to help u find it. Anyways Margarito was simply suspended for a year, and what if Cotto or Mosley would have died, they would of rewarded Margarito with a Mayweather PPV Event probably!!! This is bad for Boxing! I was once a fan of Margarito, but as u can see in the Molsey bout, when they took his weapons away, he simply was not a contender, a made up Hype,by Bob Arum. You can have um Bob Arum cause we(Da People)dont want him!!!!!

Margarito is a walking mummy with no real boxing talent or athletic ability. Hes literally a lanky tall mexican who throws 100 slow a** punches a round with cement in his gloves. Eventually those punches will take its toll if you dont have the conditioning to continue to dodge them all night. He’s nothing without his loaded gloves, he ruined the entire welterweight division, we have no clue who he really would have beat; one things for sure tho, Cotto would have definitely spanked him if he wasnt cheating, those gloves did the trick after 9 rounds.
Margarito screwed everything up in boxing, he ruined the natural chain of events that were supposed to occur. That’s why they shouldn’t give him a second chance. Think about it..

Turns out Oscar can’t fight at 147, and Manny is instantly perceived as a god… Bob Arums like oooh I could capitalize on this, so they put him against an easy, already beaten Hatton… then against a “not the same anymore” Cotto at 145… and BOOM all of a sudden this guy who ducked marquez for a third fight and shane mosley is suddenly the “fighter of the decade”. You have the right to your opinion. Im not going to keep going back and forth.We have different opinions on this, and keep clashing like heads in Boxing. I agree everyone does deserve a 2nd chance, but when your a pro athlete, u should just know better, Jesus your getting paid good enough, why cheat.
I also want to say that i do know that every fighter can die in the ring, and any given second. But when you add small blocks in the front of the Padding. to destroy the Boxer your facing,is just a crime.

Luis Resto(Boxer) and Trainer(Panama Luis) were arrested for tampering with the gloves, b4 the L.Resto vs. B.Collins. bout. Collins killed himself after the fight, when he heard the announement on the radio that L.Resto and Trainer(Panama Luis) cheated by tampering with the gloves in there bout.(Go Look It Up Billy Collins Face Was Beat So Bad He Couldn’t Open his Eyes! Need help email me).He Got in his car in drove off a Brigde, very sad, RIP Billy Collins. Cheating in that matter does not just affect the Boxer himself, but the Boxer’s that the cheater faces are mentally beatn up,and will probably never be the same. So no as i said from the Begining i will not support him,EVER!

Everyone that commits a crime and does the time deserves a second chance but hey that´s just me. Mosley admitted to using illegal substances and he just got paid $7 million last weekend. Every boxer has the possibility of killing another boxer the minute they step in the ring, cheating or not, that´s just the nature of the sport. Is what happened to Margarito right, no, and thankfully the plaster was found out and he was suspended but I´m not going to crucify the guy for the rest of his life. I believe he deserves a fresh start but hey that´s just me and it has nothing to do with where he´s from.

Omar Chavez´s opponent last year died after the fight and there was no illegal activity involved, should he be punished? This is boxing where the goal is to punch your opponent more than he punches you which naturally is a very brutal sport where when you get in the ring you know what may or may not happen. Margarito was suspended, served his time and reinstated and has a right to continue fighting and just like a convicted murderer that serves his time in jail, if they are released upon serving their time they to deserve a second chance.

I understand what you mean, and i no i have the choice to watch him or not. But what if he killed someone then what would you say? He cheated and just like Luis Resto and Panama Luis, and they were arrested and put in prison, should have been the same for Margacheato. Luis Resto can never fight again. Margarito was suspended and paid his time and since has been reinstated. You can choose not to watch him, that´s your decision but like anyone that has been suspended and reinstated he has the right to continue his profession just like everyone else. You don´t have to like it but that´s the way the world works, just like those that have been convicted of criminal activity that have served their time and paid their dues, they deserve a second chance as well. It´s easy to sit on a perch and judge everyone.

margarito won convincingly but what I saw in the fight was completely biased. the referee was biased. The worst thing, the bell rangs even though there are still 8 sec left….

lol i have read most of the comments, i totally agree with some, but give him another chance.. I am 100% with Floyed mayweather when it comes to keeping the sport of Boxing clean by heavy and accurate testings and checking the gloves and had wraps carefully while putting the gloves on. i feel so sorry for Cotto cause he got damaged by the Gloves of stones in the hands of the Tornado man. it was so wrong and Cotto will never be the same again. Cotto should sue him for personal damages.

His inexcusable and life-threatening cheating should have brought with it a life-time ban and possibly jail. For his future fights his opponents should be given loaded gloves, this cheat deserves nothing but pain and abuse.
