Image: It’s now time for Khan to silence doubtersBy Craig Macguinness: Amir Khan has undoubted talent. Blinding hand speed, great foot movement, and outstanding athleticism are all but a few of his strengths within the squared circle. Many have been asking for Khan to silence some of the doubters about his chin and punch resistance of which he still hasn’t answered. This has come from numerous knockdowns and being knocked out by Breidis Prescott within 55 seconds.

We have seen dramatic improvements, employed by Freddie roach on Khans defense since this defeat. Since the Prescott fight khan is yet to have been hit by a clean shot from a big puncher. He has fought an aging blown up Barrera and feather punchers in Andreas Kotelnik and Paulie Malignaggi amongst others. The criticisms made on Khans weak chin and picking of fights has been justified, Khan adding to the cause by making statements such as fighting Mayweather and Pacquiao within a year and a half.

I am British and proud of what Amir Khan has achieved so I am not a biased writer unlike some, just stating the opinions of the public. For Amir Khan to make statements as this he must fight big punchers such as Katsidis or Maidana in his next fight. If Khan can take on a big puncher and win convincingly and take some shots in the process he no doubt will become a superstar.

It is now time for Khan to stop the trash talk and the hype and seriously be put in with a genuine puncher or perhaps higher quality opposition in timothy Bradley. Khan has all the attributes for a top 5 pound for pound fighter and some of the reasons for his knockdowns were down to his lack of defense, youth and attacking nature all of which seem to be changed by Roach. Amir Khan it’s time to back up your worlds and show the world what you are made of, or pick another feather-fisted fighter.
