By Chris Williams: WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-1, 32 KO’s) lost a lot of his stature in the middleweight division after being badly beaten by then 44-year-old Bernard Hopkins in 2008. Is Maidana the most popular fighter in the light welterweight division?
By Chris Williams: It’s strange how things change so quickly in boxing. It was only a matter of a few months ago when World Boxing Association light welterweight interim champion Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27 KO’s) was seen as not well known enough to be a good match for WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan. How, [...]

By Sean McDaniel: In looking at Audley Harrison’s sensational 12th round knockout victory over Michael Sprott on Friday night, you can’t help wonder whether Harrison would be able to accomplish the same feat against World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye if he had been in the ring with Harrison instead of the lighter hitting [...]

By Dave Lahr: When I look at this Saturday’s bout between World Boxing Council welterweight champion Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KO’s) and Carlos Quintana (27-2, 21 KO’s), it’s scary to think that the 26-year-old Berto could eventually be the best welterweight in the division after Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and [...]
