Angulo fined $15,000 for being late to weigh-in

Jan Sanders/Goossen Tutor Promotions – By Jim Dower: World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight champion Alfredo Angulo has been fined $15,000 by the California Boxing Commission for being late to his weigh-in earlier today for his fight against Joel Julio on Saturday night at the Citizen Business Bank Arena, in Ontario, California. Angulo, along with Julio, were supposed to weigh-In in the morning, but Angulo failed to show up for the weigh-in on time.

Angulo eventually arrived 1 hours and 45 minutes late. According to reports, Angulo was stuck in traffic. Before he got there, the undercard fighters were able to weigh-in ahead of him and Julio. Angulo eventually arrived and weighed in. However, the Commission finished him 15 grand for being late. The money for the fine with go to Julio, which should make him very happy.
