Rahman stops Boldridge – Third Fight with Tua on the Horizon!

Former undisputed and two-time World Heavyweight Champion Hasim “The Rock” Rahman (46-7-2, 37 KOs) began his comeback in impressive fashion Friday night at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Fighting in a special-attraction bout on Danger Fire Promotions’ “March Mayhem” event, Rahman knocked out opponent Clinton Boldridge at 2:50 of the first round.

The heavy-punching former champion knocked Boldridge down with a good right hand and then finished him with a flurry culminating with a right hand/left hook to the head.

Boldridge was down for an extended period.

Rahman weighed in at 258 lbs, down from 300+ and is back in the gym today, getting ready for his anticipated third match-up with David Tua in June.

Both these guys are washed up just like the entire Heavyweight division, what a sad state of affairs. Maybe Tommy Morrison and Razor Ruddock will make come backs too.

    Typo sorry: Maskaev

  • cranky says:

    AP: He also beat Maskaez

  • AP says:

I always thought Tua is one best heavyweights not to win a real HW title. He beat 3 guys that became or were HW champions Rahman, Ruiz, Moorer, and also Oquendo that was robbed in the Chris Byrd fight and should have been IBF champion.

Man no one wants to see Rahman and Tua… AGAIN!!! These 2 are warriors but boxing is not going forward if these fighters dont fight the up and coming fighters. Not trying to disrespect Rahamn but Tua is on a whole different level now. Rahman has good battles against Tua, when Tua was a brawler and looked for the early KO but Tua is a better fighter now and the last 3 bouts Ive seen Rahman in, he is definitely not the same boxer I have loved to watch over the years. Damn I will never forgot when Rahman KO Lewis… one of the biggest upsets ever. Cheers
