@ T-Bone and Common Sense; Zab will have been the slickest Floyd has ever seen. Also, Mosley. Mosley is just as fast as Manny. he might not seem it, because Manny's style is to sworm in with a windmill of punches. Mosley is more calculated with his combinations.

And this talk about ODLH is elementary. Floyd fought oscar years before Manny did. Oscar had to come down to that fight. We'll see what happens when Manny comes up a bit. As to your comment about Marquez, if Manny was so great, why did marquez get off the canvas, and give him such a hard time. When Marquez got up from Floyd, Floyd controlled the rest of the fight. Can't say the same for Manny.

Bottom line, is that Manny is a technically flawed fighter. He does not belong in the same ranks as Mosley, Mayweather, Berto, Colazzo, Martinez, Williams. He has too many flaws. He's entertaining, but he has obviously been propped up by the powers that b, because he's a crowd pleaser. But having never faced the same type of opposition as a Shane Mosley, or Paul Williams, he's not of that calliper. He and Freddy pick flatfooted, come forward, shot, over the hill, damaged fighters that are taylor made for his style. I would say the same for Mayweather, but at least he fought other speed guys, like Zab Judah, who is less tough, but faster than Manny.

Common sense, I disagree with you 100 percent. Zab Judah was and still would be the fastest fighter he has ever fought. If you look at when Manny fought even Hatton, there were times within those first two rounds (hahaha) that he missed Hatton completely. Pacquiao wouldnt get clean shots on Mayweather...which would frustrate him. Plus, PAcquiao is use to opponents walking right in to him. Mayweather is not stupid, he wont do that. Plus, if you look at hatton, and Cotto...they try to trade with Pacquiao, this is something Mayweather will not do. PLUS, Mayweather is the much bigger fighter. Mayweather would just keep Pac away from him. It would take Mayweather a couple of rounds, then he would pick him apart. Pac is dangerous, no doubt about it...but Mayweather is too smart.

@Fighter,

This is true. Also, not only did Floyd beat them first, he fought each at their "natural" weight (OK, Hatton's natural weight isn't 140 because he walks around at 170 or so, but that's the weight he fought at his whole career - and Floyd stopped him first).

I think the bottom line is styles make fights, and nobody has found the style that beats Floyd. Even though it's still speculation (and I don't even want to talk about Manny vs Floyd anymore because Manny has a more dangerous fight this weekend), I say Floyd stinks out a win against Manny (he can jab/ pot shot him and tie him up all night long).

And what blueprint are you talking about? Did Pac immitate any of Floyd's moves? And Hatton and ODLH changed coaches, being one that's named Mayweather! such a lame excuse.

Lapu Lapu. I'm not a Floyd fan, but a boxing one. I'm also no nonsense, so I need to make an observation that you leave out in your last post. Manny may have done a better job against Hatton and ODLH, but it was after their embarrassing losses to Floyd YEARS prior. Floyd gave Manny the blueprint. That's right, The supposed superstar, Manny was eating Floyd's leftovers. In fact, Manny and Floyd both fought Marquez. Marquez gave Manny a hard time in both fights, and Floyd destroyed him 12 of 12 rounds.

Jaysmooth, I don't know where you got your info of Mayweather being the underdog on his fight with ODLH and Hatton. The odds on the fight were:
Mayweather 4/9 De la Hoya 7/4
Mayweather 4/7 Hatton 13/8

C'mon men, PACMAN did a better job on these two guys.

Lex why dont Mayweather fight Williams??
Dont accuse pacman for picking fights when your favourite does the same thing.

Who has Floyd Fought that wasnt' considered on the best at the time they fought. Who has Floyd fought that had just lost a fight. If you look at Floyds history he fought the best there was at that particular time. You can sit her and speculate and say what about Cotto and williams but they were making names for themselves when Floyd decided to hang it up..They weren't proven fighters. Go back and tell me who he dodged. He asked to fight the best there was and he beat those that took the challenge. The only fighter that wasn't the best was Oscar and he only fought Oscar because of the Pay out.

What happened to Cotto, is not an indication of how the fight with Clottey will go. Just because Cotto got a close decision on Clottey and then gets KO'd by Pac, does not mean Clottey get's KO'd or Pac dominates Clottey. I think a better indication, of how they handle high pressure fighters, is both of their respective bouts against Margarito.

Cotto could not handle that pressure as well as Clottey did. In fact, Clottey was up on the cards, and could have won, had he not broken his hand, and started favoring that injury. Cotto, on the other hand, said "no mas", after taking all that punishment--basically did the same against Pac. Clottey took Margarito's best shots too. But, his defense, as well as sharp offense (when he let his hands go), kept him in the fight. Cotto has subpar defense. Based on what I've seen from Clottey, he has the remedy to Pac's speed. And it's not when he covers up, either. When he starts landing some of his combos, then the tables will turn. Unfortunately, he will have damn near everything (outside the ring) working against him.

Big Lo, If you are indeed following PACMAN’s fight, you must remember that in his fights with ODLH, Hatton, Cotto, he was the underdog as most analysts are writing him off. Again, only when PACMAN won convincingly then these analyst were taking notice. But they were looking the other way, instead of giving credit to PACMAN, they are highlighting that his victims were damaged goods.

But to PACMAN personally, he doesn’t care as long as he gives the boxing fans the fight that they wanted.

Floyd was predicted to lose against Oscare Dela Hoya because he was fighting a bigger fighter. He was predicted to lose against Hatton because Hatton was more experienced and supposedly more powerful. so, just as Manny was suppose to loose so was Floyd.. So, whats your point..

Lets not write off Clottey as if hes not a challenge -
he is a challenge - hes a true welterweight and hes
bigger and stronger than Pacman - all he needs is
one good punch placed in the right place and
goodbye ! Pacman must be cautious and not be too
anxious ! Pacman will eventually catch him with
volume punches but not without stamina speed and
footwork!

GO PACMAN !

It doesnt matter how big Clottey gets Roach will find a way for Pacquiao to hurt him. With Roach in his corner Pacquiao cant lose. And he will beat Mayweather when that fight eventually comes up.

Don't get it wrong, Roach is a great trainer but he isn't in the ring. Everyone thought that about Ricky Hatton when he was undefeated an Roach was his trainer and Floyd beat him. so, to say he can't loose with Roach in his corner is a little to much. Roach has been a the losing end of several fights. If i am not mistaken I think Floyd beat 2 or 3 of Roaches fghters. Dont quote me on the last sentence.

Everyone thought that about Ricky Hatton when he was undefeated an Roach was his trainer and Floyd beat him. so, to say he can’t loose with Roach in his corner is a little to much. Roach has been a the losing end of several fights. If i am not mistaken I think Floyd beat 2 or 3 of Roaches fghters. Dont quote me on the last sentence.
