Mike Tyson looking slim and in fighting shape – News

By Eric Thomas: 43-year-old Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KO’s) looks to have taken off a massive amount of weight in a recent appearance in Italy’s “Dancing with the Stars” competition. Tyson, who hasn’t fought in over five years, appears to have taken off at least 40+ pounds in recent months. In the video, Tyson looks to be near his old fighting weight of the low 220s. In contrast, Tyson ballooned up in weight in the past year and looked nothing like his former self, almost George Foreman-esque. Could this mean that Tyson is contemplating a comeback to boxing? Let’s hope so.

Tyson could make good money in a third rubber match against Evander Holyfield. There’s a number of opponents that would be perfect for Tyson, such as Vitali Klitschko or British heavyweight David Haye. To be sure, the fights would have to be limited in terms of rounds because Tyson’s stamina would likely be a problem given the amount of years that he’s been out of the sport.

However, Tyson would be big problems for any fighter in a three to six round fight. Tyson last fought in 2005. He finished his career on a bad note, losing three out of his last four fights, but Tyson was matched fairly tough at the end of his career and you can’t really blame him for those losses.

Tyson vs. Haye would be an excellent fight. Tyson with his huge one-punch power, would be a real danger for Haye. It would be an interesting fight to see two massive power punchers with blazing speed going head to head.

Mike Tyson the best boxer in history. I pray he destroys Evander Holifield then beats Lennox Lewis & Finally beats up Wladimir Klitschko. Would love to see Mike Tyson us World Boxing Champion 3 more times. And regain his fierceness power speed incredible punching combinations he had when he dominated the ring. Mike Tyson deserves to win & regain his title. No boxer was ever close to Mike Tyson at his best.
    MIKE TYSON RULES FOREVER !

  • Pam says:

Tyson is amazing, and he looks in great shape again,
I wish him luck in whatever he does, a comeback in the ring would be the biggest draw in years… go mike we are all supporting you.

  • Tuavale says:

I’m well off the Tyson band wagon, actually probably later than most. But he is beyond shot and will never return. That said, he looks good physically and has obviously dropped a lot of excess poundage and looks great. Good for him.

  • KAM says:

Tyson was finished as a top fighter 10 years ago, are u really being serious the man has become a circus now meaning hes doing stupid things to make money. The writer’s knowledge is POOR.

  • Gile says:

Oh yea…KAL’EL you are and idiot !

  • Gile says:

You are crazy, he is not fighting again…Even if he comes back he would get murdered cause he doesnt have heart and desire to do that again, he would fight for wrong reasons… Dont get me wrong i would loooove to see him come back and destroy Holyfield(payback) and than take one of the titles maybe beat boring Klitschos or Haye who talks too much… Maybe fight David Tua that would be crazy…but he wont come back he, its too much for him…

  • Jason Alcairo says:

Mike developed a lung issue which didn’t help his stamina in his later career.I think he lost the weight from training for the dancing. It’s a great exercise, but no way in hell is he going to be fighting again. He lacks that rage that made him focused. That stint in prison ruined him,and he’s already said he lost the fire to fight. He has no reason. He’s just trying to live a calm life with his family. His documentary pointed out a lot of these facts.

  • Phoocquiao says:

Is no one taking a shot at his terrible dancing out of fear? I know that’s why I’m not. Great job Mike, great job.

  • Phoocquiao says:

As much as I wanna believe is a Tyson come-back, I don’t really think it’s a reality. He’s said himself he’s lost his will to fight. He wasn’t the same elusive fighter that he was while Cus was alive. He does look good though. Maybe he’s training for his health.

  • KAL 'EL says:

Iron Mike Tyson has been training again with his old trainer Kevin Rooney…

It’s on again.. He’s gonna comeback and do it for the fans one more time since there is no true contenders in the heavyweight division besides David “The Hayemaker” Haye!!!!!!

  • KAL 'EL says:

Tyson had that menacing look in his eyes again. Iron Mike Tyson is coming back and he’s going to clean up the division and get rid of all of them fat lazy suckas that call themselves fighters. Tyson will rule once again!!!!!

Iron Mike Tyson one of the G.O.A.T.!!!!

  • Muzza says:

For Gods sake the mans been washed up for years and has zero intreast in Boxing anymore. Hed get killed if he got in the ring again with a match fit opponent. Daft Article.

  • Ozzy says:

I personally dont believe Mike Tyson will ever step into the ring again, he’s a legend and he should enjoy life.. but then again lets face the truth.. those who love him and those who hate hime, those who want to see him fight and those who couldnt care less.. IF HE FIGHTS AGAIN… he will be a sell out for sure.. news itself would crash the websites.. every single newpaper around the would would have that news printed. people would deabte over it on live tv. now thats mike for you.

  • Mixalis Kouvatsos says:

i am so happy to seemike looking genuinly happy on the tv. also it was really nice to see the italians treating him so good, with more warmth and affection then ive seen any othr country treat mike

  • Proper fan says:

Whoever wrote this article obviously hasnt a clue about boxing. Number 1, a 3rd fight with Holyfield would not be a rubber match. A ‘Rubber match’ is the 3rd and deciding fight of a trilogy whereby both fighters have previously won a contest (ie stands at 1 all). In case you didnt know, Holyfield beat Tyson twice!!

Secondly, just because a guy has lost a few pounds does not mean he is coming back to the ring. Tyson is 43 and hasnt fought in 5 years. He hasnt looked like a proper fighter in 15 years. Would be a tragedy to see him back and Tyson v Haye would not be an excellent fight. It wouuld be a massacre. Lads, seriously get over Tyson, particularly at this age.

  • Boxer1993 says:

I don’t thin Tyson will come back he’s had his time in the sport of boxing and hes enjoying his live its good to see him in shape and looking healthy… better than he was last year!!!

  • boxb says:

lets hope tyson does come back. the youngest heavy weight champion of the world. and that will never ever be beaten.tyson is a legend who depends on his knockouts. just like danny green. tyson vs green in australia would be a great promotion.

  • Dale says:

I don’t think Tyson Will come back, but if he does i will be rooting him any1 with power has a chance he needs to get himself down to 225lbs to be affective and fast i dnt think he would beat the klitschkos but i do think he would ko Haye.

  • Atos says:

It is funny article. Do you really think that Tison may be a threat for any fighter?

  • Si says:

Might it be he has lost weight for the dancing competition?! Afterall, who wants to look fat on tv ? He won’t return to the ring.

  • KAL 'EL says:

Tyson is coming back to knockout both of the Klitchkos and become heavyweight champ again!!!!!!!!!

Iron Mike Tyson one of the Greatest of all time!!!!!!!!!

  • chinquanto says:

When he was called Iron Mike he was just a Paper Tiger when ever Mike fought some one who could Fight he got his ass kicked, and I mean everytime

  • David Gonzales says:

Mike Tyson is an always will be a soldier.SAY WHAT YOU WANT,YOU CANT WHOOP HIM!

  • Patrick says:

That’s the last thing the heavies need right now: a returning former, washed-up, champ (or contender). What the division needs is a flood of young, talented big guys. Surely there has to be a big, athletic (high-school age) kid thinking with a little coaching and some dedication I could knockout a list of bums and be THE heavy weight champ of the world.

  • Bob says:

That’s a hot Babe, I know Mike has to control himself

  • jason says:

mike tyson was the reason i started watching boxing all those years ago…he gave me some great memories..nothing to prove now so enjoy life outside the ring mike

  • Sean P says:

Your going to get slated for this one ! haha

  • Manong Tagacebu says:

    I wish Tyson stays retired.

He already made his legacy inside the ring. Let him enjoy life. I don’t want Tyson to be like Ali in his waning years. :D

  • Ricki says:

Losing 40 pounds does not reverse the damage of drinking and snorting cocaine for the last 10 years!

Mike is a legend and has no need to come back.

  • skidmark1975 says:

in his prime those names wouldnt of made decent sparring partners for iron mike let alone competition. different breed !

  • Nick Winner says:

Well I have to go against everyone.

    I hope he comes back.

Telling a fighter not to fight is like telling water not to be wet.

    Take em down Mikey!

  • wowzabean says:

Saw the Tyson documentary. Good film, worth watching if you’re a boxing fan. Tyson’s the sh!t.

Man jus cos tyson has lost weight does not mean anything???? unles this info is from the man himself i mite even consider believeing him! But on the other hand i think Tyson should become a coach, i think he would be a wikid coach n would bring some fun excitement bak into boxing!

  • Southpawchew says:

I’d be scared to dance with Tyson!

  • Gero says:

Why should him losing weight automaticly signal a comeback???maybe he just got tired of hauling his fat as around all day.
He wont be back, and that IS a good thing. He has nothing left to prove, let him enjoy his retirement.

  • Daniel Ciminera says:

i hope he doesn’t come back, it was horrible to see him against danny williams and the like. it was not mike tyson, end of.

there is no way he still has enough to compete with any of the names mentioned.

  • Callum says:

I sincerley hope a comeback is not on the cards, as i would hate to see the once unstoppable great champ who is 20 + years past his prime get hurt or humilated. He is wealthy healthy and is stable now and i wish him all the best

  • KO says:

Tyson should never step into the ring as a pro again. It would be too damaging for him…

  • Boricua Bomber says:

I wish Tyson health, wealth and no comeback.

  • Kim says:

    Let’s hope not, he’s finished

  • jw says:
