i liked ricky hatton,he was one of my all time favorite fighters.i just didnt think it would end is in this pathetic fashion. i thought he was making progress as a fighter and would pick himself up and win a feww more fights so i,m really disappointed.

I hope Ricky doesn’t go back on his decision to retire becouse whilst I have enjoyed every minute of his career I don’t see any reason to fight on (I only see a tragedy in the making with his balooning weight between fights) the only thing left to achieve is the pound for pound title and unfortunately he came up short but no shame in losing to the calibre of MAYWEATHER and PAQUIAO the two best fighters of his generation

Good luck Ricky in which ever avenue you go down whether it’s promoting or stand up comedy! I think you will do a good job either way!!

He has been a very good fighter- fair play, millions in the bank a child and a missus, that should be his lot as far as going into the ring, he should stick to promoting an enjoy his life, he lost the heart to train and when that happens its good night, God bless. In all reality if ricky lived the disciplined life of a boxer 12 months a year and not just 3 months before a fight at 31 would still be able to Box. Consider Hopkins at 43, Moseley 38, and other fighters in his age bracket such as mayweather and pacman who have all managed to stick to a strict regime and have reaped the rewards, hatton never did this and thats why he looks so bloated and unfit, in all honesty you would have thought that he retired already in some recent photos. He likes his drink and his fast, fatty foods and fair play to him he has put in a good shift boxing wise losing two from 40-odd isnt bad going.

Errrrrrr!!!! So Ricky`s retiring, well Rick it does not take a genius that the blame falls on your own shoulders if you wanted to carry on and you now realise you can not. Its down to your in between fight drinking and ballooning in weight (professional boxers and athletes don’t do that, you did so now you have to pay the price.

You was good but not great. SO RICK NOW THE CHICKEN HAS COME HOME TO ROOST AT JUST 31 (TUT TUT!!!)

Wise decision if it´s true. He has done so much in boxing and has been on the top for many years. He is rich now and in good health, has already accomplished almost everything and owns a promotion company and a gym. He has only 2 losses against the best two fighters in the world which in my opinion is actually an honor on his behalf. Better to loose against the best fighters rather than loosing to unknown boxer.

Ricky Hatton accomplished much during his career. In the ring and out, he’s a likable guy.
He was undefeated until his last 2 fights. And no one in the division could have beat Mayweather or Pacquiao. Give him credit for trying; not many would.
I’m happy Ricky is going to retire…it’s time.
Rather than risk further injury, he will do well as a promoter or in entertainment. (He’s funny as hell…a natural comedian.)
Whatever Rick does after boxing, I hope he will respect the millions he made in the ring, remember how hard he worked to earn it, and hold tight to every penny.

Just watched a clip of the Hatton vs Mayweather weigh in on you tube and im so gutted Ricky wont bring that atmosphere to he stage ever again. A sad day for British boxing. Ricky, you are a true british boxing legend!!
