Bradley vs. Abregu in June; Alexander vs. Judah later this year

By Peter Wells: After Devon Alexander defeated Juan Urango last Saturday to heat up the already boiling Light Welterweight division. Now a fight between Alexander and Tim Bradley has become a likely Super Fight.

Bradley is in a great division but with all fighters set for fights, he’s having to settle for an undefeated but unknown challenger, Luis Carlos Abregu. The fight will take place on June 26th on HBO. This is a chance for Bradley to put his power into some punches and show he’s still got the KO. I like most over boxing fans haven’t seen Abregu before, but is unbeaten and is still a challenge that must be taken seriously.

On the other hand newly crowned unified IBF and WBC 140lb champion Devon Alexander is going after a much more known fighters, Zab Judah. Zab isn’t his best anymore and shouldn’t pose Devon a great threat, but another knockout for Alexander will be a bonus. Plus a name like Zab Judah on your record is always good, and keeping active with top fighters is the best idea.

As long as Devon and Tim don’t mess it up in their next fights then later this year, about November we should get an ultimate clash and one that will really spark life to the great weight class

    Abregu has no defense – a decent jab will keep him at bay and any sort of decent contact on his chin and he’ll go down.
    Bradley will hurt this kid.
    This fight will be at 140 imo.

  • James says:

    Abregu is not going to give Bradley any sort of challenge. It;s going to be an easy nights work for Timothy via a mid rounds TKO victory.

  • J says:

    Zab Judah is not a shot fighter, he still poses a big threat to a lot of guys like Alexander. Don’t count out a guy like Zab whos got incredible speed and tons of power.

    @Anonymous

    Here we go again… Bradley tried to get Judah to fight… Judah said no? Bradley has tried to get everyone @140 to fight and they all have said no. Alexander wants Judah and then Bradley. Bradley had to fight someone, and no one @ 140 was available… He was forced to move up to 147 and make the move to HBO!!! Pay attention, he is doing everything he can to get a mega fight with Alexander, Khan, or anyone else! It’s not like Khan has ever fight anyone we know??? Atleast Bradley has fought top ten guys… Khan has fought English men from who knows where…. Shut up about Khan, he nor Paulie wanted to face Bradley… The guy Bradley is fighting presents much more risk then Paulie… Then again my 10 yearold could knock Khan out!!!

    Abregu is tough. If you like fighters who takes a few to give a few and never gives up, that’s him. He is getting better in each fight. Bradley is going to need his A-game.

    Abregu is an excellent fighter. I wouldn’t count on it being an easy fight for Tim.
