".…you guys had lewis and never gave him respect, now you have a poser and fawn all over him…sad really."

Agree with you 100%. I just hope to see any kind of competition in the hw division, that is why i don´t badmouth anyone right now... but haye could turn out to be a interessting competitor. i think he wins over ruiz easily.

In my opinion Haye has a good chance of winning this coming fight with Ruiz if he can keep the safety distance and he stays constantly on the move.

barrett gets knocked down and out a lot in the last three years, bonin is not even a top 100 heavyweight, and valuev has been rocked often (barrett rocked him and hes not a puncher)...if you want to imagine how good a puncher david just imagine a real heavyweight against this cruisers that went 8-10 rounds with davey....fragy was an even fight until david finally knocked him out late....against vlad, fragy knocked out in 2 without ever landing a clean punch in his own defense. also remember that barrett hurt davey and a much younger, better barrett never dented vlad

haye didnt nearly ko anybody, valuev has been rocked before...hes never gone down. haye did worse than ruiz and holyfield did against a younger, better version of the giant, he just got the decision...i notice hayes fans keep building up valuev to make hayes timid, awkward performance look better..haye didnt both move and hit, he ran, stopped threw a jab, then ran again...it will go down in history as one of the most embarassing fights ever, hence the story about a broken hand which has since proven to be a lie....which puts his previous injury claims in perspective...you guys had lewis and never gave him respect, now you have a poser and fawn all over him...sad really

How can you say David Haye looks like he's getting fat? He is naturally bigger than most cruiserweights, he struggled to get to that weight. His extra weight is nearer to his natural weight. Also at the Valuev fight he was in great shape, he didnt have a trace of a gut! As for his hand speed, when he did throw punches at Valuev, as little as he did, Valuev couldnt see them coming. The John Ruiz may be a difficult fight for Haye, but he still has the speed and power to beat Ruiz. How can you say you think he's lost his power when he rocked Valuev and nearly knocked him out in the 12th round, how many big heavyweights have done that?

Even at his best Ruiz wasnt a great boxer. therefor i cant see him win against Haye. Keep in mind Valuev defeatet Ruiz.
Ruiz would need a lucky punch.

I think Haye will outpoint Ruiz in a boring stinker, however, I do think that Haye has just enough to score a points win over Ruiz. Haye is dedicated and trains hard and this may contribute to a hard fought decision win. Ruiz, however, does have a style that may bother Haye, and Ruiz has a style that can be suited for an aging heavyweigth, as it doesn't require speed, but rather strengt, craft and experience.
Still, I think Haye will get a work-man like decision by jabbing and running.

I live in Vegas & I've watched Ruiz spar with smaller, faster guys. Funny, in sparring he's really light on his feet & cuts off the ring beautifully. I know it's sparring, not a real fight but you would think more of this would come in to play rather than his standard '1 punch grab' thing.

I think the biggest challenge for Ruiz is his inactivity, that and @ 38 against a young guy who can move well it's going to test his endurance.

Pointing to the Jones fight (I was there, what a night) isn't an accurate assesment. That was a prime Roy on the best night of his life. Haye doesn't have any where near the reflexes Jones did in his day.

Looking @ Haye/Valuev I saw Haye in the ring with a guy a foot taller & 100 pounds bigger & he didn't look scared. It at least tells me Haye is serious about his assault on the HW division.

Maybe this fight is competitve for a few rounds then John wears out. Maybe Haye's chin will give him away.

Regardless of the outcome it ain't gonna be Ali / Fraizer.

If you watched the Barrett v Haye fight, Barrett knocked Hay on his kister(ass). But if you watched the beginning of the fight. When Barrett made his grand entrance, he tripped on the top rope and knocked himself on his kister. You brits are blind pencil necks crackers. You write good Scott.
