@Kray: That may well be true, that Floyd…. could against any fighter LW to WW “take them to school”. However we will never know for sure, as Floyd has never submitted himself to the ultimate test in each successive weight class. Without ever being considered a dominant champ in any weight he has competed in, he managed to become #1pfp. This was due no doubt to Floyds silky smooth boxing skill coupled with his ability to succeed while moving through the weight divisions. This formula has become a prerequiset for the #1pfp. Pernell, jones,oscar and floyd all suceeded in at least 4 classes with floyd 5 and oscar 6 . My point is… with all of these “titles” at different weights, fighters are depriving themselves of the time required to become truely dominant in any division. With the exception of pernell at lightweight and jones at lt heavy no other division was dominated. Out of a combined 20 divisions these 4 men competed in… only 2 were ever dominated. History will remember them that way…. as one time #1pound for pounders and not as TRUELY dominant champions.

That is the most stupid think you could have said but its exactly why he is the highest PPV fighter righter now. Thats what people want to seee, they want to see the greatest get beat and they will do and pay anything just to say that they saw him get beat. So, come May 1st, Floyd will out sell manny fight because of all the haters who wants to seee his down fall. I predict about 1.5 milliion sells or more for Floyd/shane fight and maybe 1 million for PacMan/Clottey fight. Dont hate Floyd because he is great..

floyd going to lose,so it matter none. its all end on this fight,he going to wish he fought manny instead ,what is he going to get ? 10 millions.pac is proving to be the better draw,he get more than double that.so why didnt we have a floyd and mosley promotion in the super bowl? is the fight on? why did GBP say they were going to make a official announcement when they get the signed fax tomorrow we never got a GBP official announcement how much each fighter get etc.

I can’t give Mayweather a credit in beating Mosley. Mosley is pass his prime & too old at 38 years old. I don’t think Mosley could beat Mayweather. You could see Mosley’s tongue coming out when they fight because he’ll be chasing Mayweather all night long. Mosley shoudl wear a running shoes to chase Mayweather. lol

@kray – this is why you fight the fights… Mayweather has avoided top level fighters for years, yet some of these guys still rank him among the best. Is he? Of course he is, but how good is he?? We will find out. And for all the people that already have excuses for mosley because of age, just stop. Shane Mosley doesn’t have excuses, if he loses, he accepts it!

@aussieboxfan – Yet, he was regarded as the #1 PFP fighter in the sport, before he retired. So he must’ve been doing someting right. All this without having 50+ fights, and going through several wars. Now, he comes out of retirement, and slides right back in to the top 5 PFP rankings (#2 to be exact), with only 1 (tune-up) fight.
Either these boxing analyst are not too bright, he paid them off, or he’s just damn good. Based on what I’ve seen from his performances, he’s head and shoulders above any boxer in the sport today, in terms of boxing IQ. Despite some of his antics, it cannot be denied that you can match him up, against any opponent from LW to WW, and he will take them all to school. Win or lose, if he’s at his best, he will give anyone in those divisions a boxing lesson.

That analysis isn’t fair…did anyone see Shane destroy Margarito? He’s not washed up, if he loses it will be because he is not Floyd’s equal. They are both at fault for the fight not happening years ago, Shane didn’t want the fight at 140 and Floyd didn’t want to give Shane the fight after he became a PPV draw.

You say we gotta first prove that Manny’s on something…

well how can we prove anything if Manny refuses to take the tests?

But the bottom line is that the FAILapino refuses to prove he’s clean by taking more stringent testing.

Which Shane Mosley didn’t even hesitate to take. Which Arthur Abraham and numerous other boxers like Jermain Taylor had no problems doing.

It’s just Manny alone who’s refusing to take the tests. And in doing so, he’s walking away from $40 million on the table.

And Pactards don’t think that’s suspicious?

What if Bernard Hopkins walked away from a $40 million dollar payday to fight Roy Jones Jr. if Jones had demanded olympic style testing?

Bernard’s never tested positive either.

Mayweather claims that he tried to make a fight with Mosley over a decade ago, and Shane blew him off. Back then Mayweather was competing at super featherweight and Mosley was dominating the lightweight division. Mayweather has repeated this story countless times over the last ten years. Mosley told BoxingScene the story is false. He says Mayweather is distorting the facts. Additionally, he says it was Floyd who walked away ten years ago – and Shane claims there is an old videotaped interview that backs his version of the events.

“He does a lot of lying. These are facts. There is a videotape. In fact somebody at FX told me that they have the videotape of me calling him out at lightweight, before I moved up to welterweight because I couldn’t make lightweight no more. He knew that and he said in his words ‘I’m not going to go up to lightweight, I’m going to stay at 130 and try to break the record for the most title defenses.’ It was 26 defenses or something like that. He said that in his own words back then. What he forgets is that it’s caught on tape when he tells that lie. I just need to find the tape,” Mosley said.

The pactards want you to believe that if Mayweather beats Mosley, then Shane was a too old, past his prime fighter.

But if you ask Freddie Roach why Manny wouldn’t take the fight with Shane, it was because Mosley’s too big and dangerous, and the only way Manny would fight him was if he drained himself down to 142.

And the Pactards call Floyd a vampire?
