I think Cotto should fight someone that he is sure to win, instead of going against all of these superstars and losing to them… I think Cotto should fight against Foreman and then Berto and maybe then (if he wins)… the awaited Margharito rematch… and if he beats Margharito…a superstar that would make him regain his belt.

Lex..You make a good point about Top Rank wanting Cotto to beat Foreman. If Cotto wins a belt at 154 then Bob Arum could setup a rematch perhaps at Yankee stadium if a Mayweather vs Pac does not pan out. But Cotto would first have to redeem himself getting a new trainer. Cotto obviously lost a step since loosing to Margarito then fought Pacman with a rookie trainer, under weight and still managed to go 12 rounds with Pac. With a more experience trainer and if they can fight at true welterweight 147 then it will be a closer fight. Cotto’s fan will pay to see a rematch with Pac at Yankee staduim and Pacman always draws.

I think Cotto needs more time to recoop phisicly and mentaly,he might have suferd a severe concusion,with margarito then got hurt more with pacman.If he were to come back he needs emanuel stuart or his uncle.GET RID OF SANTIAGO HES A ROOKIE. Emanuel Stuart can teach cotto new skills that can perfect cotto and keep him away from bad habits.

Berto vs Cotto would be an interesting fight. It would allow Berto to actually fight some legitimate competition. It would give Cotto a chance to grab a title again before potentially retiring this fall. (He has said he wants to retire by the age 30). If Berto were able to beat Cotto (which I don’t think he can) it would allow Berto to set himself up for bigger paydays down the road.

Yuri Foreman is not a powerful puncher as some would like to believe. He is a light puncher that lunges and leads with his head a lot. He [Foreman] is a boxer all around and would definitely try to box rather than mix it up with Cotto.

However, this fight could be of some risk to Cotto as well. He could easily lose this fight as well as win it. Cotto needs to carefully consider his options. Under his current trainer, Cotto would struggle in this fight. With his Uncle Evangelista ( or better trainer) he would do much better than most expect.

Cotto vs. Berto would great to see after that fight between Berto and Paulie. Nobody wants to see a cherry picking fight. Boxing fans wants to see action and a fight between Berto vs. Cotto would be something to see. Cotto shouldn’t fight Foreman and fight someone like JMM or Hatton would be graet to see.

Cotto was never that good we can see how much you know about boxing, ass. And cotto vs Forman to me is a good idea the only reason every body want to fight Forman is cuz he’s looked at as an easy lunch hence manny’s intrest not to long ago I think this can be a great confidence building and tune up fight for cotto to then set up a berto fight since cotto previously stated he wanted to get an additional trainer I think this is great. If cotto doesn’t take advantage of an such high prize yet not to risky fight someone else will

Love to see Cotto defending a 154 title against mayweather. Definately has the ability to beat foreman although it would be hard work with the size difference and foremans head.

As Cotto’s opponents fear him so much they have resorted to cheating to beat him. New procedures should be employed to check hand wraps prior to fights and olympc style drug testing should be mandatory.
