Lopez to leave Gamboa with Caballero while he looks to fight Bernabe Concepcion – News
By Peter Wells: According to some reports there have been talks started with Celestino Caballero to move up to Featherweight to fight WBA champion Yuriorkis Gamboa. This is still a massive fight, but Juan Manuel Lopez who believes he is better than Caballero has opted for an easier opponent. I’m not keen on fighters that talk trash then run off and fight someone else, Lopez has displayed his boring side of fighting in his last fight with Steven Luevano, but it was Luevano who ruined the fight and dragged Juanma into a boring non-action fight.
Lopez could do with fighting Gamboa because Yuri is leaving Lopez behind at the moment, everything Lopez does, Gamboa does better. Juanma took all 12 rounds to beat Roger Mtagwa and looked extremely vulnerable near the end, while just 3 weeks ago Gamboa destroyed Mtagwa in just 2 rounds to steal the show and made the Lopez-Luevano fight look even worse. Now while Lopez is opting for the easy option, Gamboa is taking a risk in fighting a much more dangerous fighter.
What makes it worse for Lopez is that the two fights will be on the same show again, but this time Gamboa will be the main attraction and against Caballero it’s bound to be exciting. Lopez will need to find one of those super knockouts he’s been lacking just lately after all those early first round stoppages. Gamboa is really just protecting his territory but the real top dog in the division is Chris John, and the Gamboa-Lopez winner will get there shot straight away.

Edgar cintron i wish i can have your phone # so i can call u when gamboa kill juanma. SPEED KILLS MY FRIEND.
Roger Mtagwa was running most his fight till the 11 when he was finally slowed down due to body punches from a fustrated Juanma Lopez that broke down Roger the 11th and 12th. When Roger fought Gamboa he decided to use a new tactic and went toe to toe with Gamboa. That was why he lasted only two rounds. Why is it sooo difficult to understand that. Lopez is indeed fighting tougher opponents than he has ever before, that is why he hasn’t done the “first round knock outs!” He still has it in him. Ask his last opponents! Lopez is moving ahead of Gamboa that is why he is looking for bigger names. If Gamboa does beat Caballero then yeahp Lopez vs. Gamboa would be what’s up!!!!! But Lopez will definatley win. He’s way too calm and confident and will be going very far.
Gamboa will be exposed,Lopez may have problems.
Weird, i hear Caballero will fought Daud Yordan
I dont see anything special about JaunMa. Lopez…he is an ordinary fighte to me.I dont think that he is ready for Gamboa. Gamboa is a far more superior fighter then JuanMa and I dont understand why people would want to see them fight.A good fight for JuanMa will be against Rocky Juarez a challenge for Gamboa will be Chris John
If we are going to compare one fight with another then what about when LOPEZ finish PONCE DE LEON in 1round and it toke CELESTINO A 12RD DECISION.GAMBOA is a quick handed fighter but has no chin LOPEZ southpaw stand and great right hook will be to much for GAMBOA,CELESTINO has a better chance to beat LOPEZ but now.CONCEPTION is not by anymeans a easy fight much more of a pro than GAMBOA he has a more chin and more legs and he’s younger tough fight.GAMBOA will have problems reaching the taller CELESTINO and being that GAMBOA does not move his head and has a bad hadbit of leaping back I see CELESTINO landing the long right hand and KNOCKING GAMBOA out in 8.I SEE LOPEZ AND CELSTINO METTING SOME TIME BY THE END OF THIS YEAR OR BEGENING OF NEXT A REAL GOOD FIGHT CELESTINO LEARNING HOW TO DEAL WITH SPEED A LITTLE AND LOPEZ LEARNING TO WORK THE BODY A LITTLE MORE.
