Where do you people get off my not making up your own stories? For the record Manny refused Floyd's request. He did not refuse any demands from an organization or body.
The example people use about why would he not do it because so much $ is involved is not fair. My analogy is this: try to imagine if one of your coworkers made a demand for you to take a drug test because he felt you were on drugs. He has no right to make that demand and you do not have to oblige.
The issue about the $? Manny is a very rich man and does not desperately need that payday. Compare that to a coworker making a similar demand for your annual salary after he has made inflammatory and derogatory remarks about you. Would you kowtow to him or would you demand an apology? Or worse, would you allow him to make a huge paycheck off you, knowing he needs it much more than you?
Before you start throwing stones, try to think of yourself as being in a similar glass house at which you are throwing! I am sure you would not be as quick to throw a single rock!

It is not about the weight gain that makes people skeptical about Pacquiao. It is the fact that Manny's relative power is increasing as he moves up, and that he can walk through punches of bigger men. He punches harder among welterweights than he did among junior lightweights, and he can take punches better as well. And there is NOTHING WRONG with being skeptical in a sport in which there is a major steroid/PED problem. Manny is not being banned, fined, or jailed without proof - he is simply being asked by his opponent to take a test that is standard in every other major sport to ensure fairness. And his opponent will take the same test.

Boxing is so far behind other sports with respect to PED testing it is pathetic. This is one of the many ways in which the sport is stuck in the past. Most casual boxing fans viewed Manny's refusal to do WADA style testing as proof of guilt. In no other major sport could an athlete refuse this without serious repercussions, both from the commissions as well as the sport's media. Most of the boxing media is so obsessed with Manny that they will go to any length to defend him in this situation. However, they are out of touch with the mainstream fans. Mainstream media has done a better job with the coverage of this debate.

Is Floyd going to demand that Valero take tests for steroids? His name sounds a lot like Valeroids. I think Floydf Junior should ask his dad Floyd Sniffer to go check this guy out at the street (punk) level.

Let me start by saying I prefer a sweet scientist, an artist of boxing as opposed to the raw animalistic and devastating power of a powerful puncher. I however appreciate both. I will fawn all over the scientific boxer who makes his foe look so bad and finally ko's him. I will deify him if he takes on an equally talented foe, just as fast and skilled or better still, the powerful punching guy and has to dig deep, through sheer will and determination to win.
Floyd falls into the scientific, skill set. So have we seen him demonstrate this often? Once? Twice? Still no eh? How about Manny? He falls into the other categeory. I would say he keeps challenging himself by fighting bigger guys. Sure he started very, very thin so he had no way to go but up. It has been said he starved himself. To that I say that is a byproduct of boxing today because of the stupid overabundance of classes and titles.
Yes, Manny has thrilled us with fights where he was underdog or where it was a pic-em fight and in the actual fighte he had to dig really deep to win. Although I prefer the skill type, unless he is charismatic and also finishes off his foes the skill guy does not normally transcend to the general masses, unless he is Ali, Sugar or Oscar.
Compare a guy like Tyson. he was knocking heads and brusing bodies. Suddenly with no Olympic past and no fancy marketing, his name became legend. People wanted to see his brutal ko's even though they ended quickly. He was not exactly eloquent but his street talk made him popular and he crossed over.
I prefrred Holyfiled and was never a huge Tyson fan but gosh, I was glued to his fights. Initially I was glued to Floyd's fights too for his skills and ability to finish off guys. But since he left 135 he has become Money, Fruad, Chicken Boy, Poutry Boy Fraud, Kentucky Fraud etc. because he has failed to let his fists match his mouth.
Why did he insist on a blood test when all along he and his primitive tribe said Manny had no skills? Manny is a small guy but he punches with speed and power. When he is doen with you, you carry the physical scars. When Floyd beats you, you car the pschyological scars of a defeat. You ache too but not that petrified fear. Because of their allegations we have people saying how can Manny be scared of testing when he can lose blood in an actual fight.
How can an adult compare blood testing to losing blood in a fight from a punch or a headbutt? That is like a guy who is afraid of flying but uses elevators. What does one have to do with the other? And speaking about blood during a fight, I have never seen a boxer not get flustered to some extent if he starts to bleed. Some get more excited than others and some use it as motivation to fight harder. No matter what it can change the outcome of a fight because the boxer may have to change his original plan.
I will say it again. Floyd is a great defensive boxer with great other skills BUT I want to see it against the very best and I want to see it consistently. Not vs Mosley and then vs smaller older guys again. It is not just him I want to see face the best. I want to see the best face the best. Please tell me he would not have been made fighter of the decade if he had the scalps of the big name welters in the 00's?
I am a fan of boxing and want to be able to say I saw not one great fighter beat a bum but that I saw two great fighters put on a heck of a battle and fighter A won. If that is Cotto or Mosley, Williams, Floyd or Manny, I am happy and pleased.
Conversely, I get sick of hearing fans of the Poultry Boy call people haters because this is what they want. Can’t you guys just grow up and realize that boxing is not about one or two guys but rather about the high level and intensity of the top guys facing off in all divisions to thrill us?
Whoever wants to be rated No 1 does not have to jump from division to division. All he has to do is clean out his diviision and do it so well that we have no choice but to anoint him P4P king.

This article, at first glance, appears reasonable and logical.

But the author's analysis is flawed and disregarded one important point: Manny Pacquiao had a terrible experience with blood being drawn from him very close to a fight.

After winning his first fight with Pacquiao, Morales commented that he didn't feel any of Pacquiao's punches. Pacquiao, in an interview in the Philippines after the fight, said he felt dizzy and weak and suffered from headaches after being drawn blood from a day or two before the fight. He had to get a masseur to massage the back of his neck to relieve the discomfort.

Now, Pacquiao will be truly stupid if he will let such a bad experience happen to him agaio with his consent!!! But Pacquiao is NOT stupid, and will not allow himself to be tricked by the cunning and tricky Mayweather Jr.

This "article" is hilarious! Its full of contradiction's, some are on purpose [otherwise known as lies] and some are through the authors stupidity. .......Contradiction 1: The title.... In defense of Mayweather..... This article was nothing but a slander session on pacquiao! This does nothing to "defend" Mayweather against what the boxing fans criticize him for, i.e, excuses, safety first, money first approach, cherry picking, boring fights and lack of humility e.t.c. This article only attempts to defend Mayweather's proofless accusation by offering more proofless assumptions [accusations], and by using Manny's wonderfull career against him. [Like he is too good to be true]. There are plenty of incorrect "facts" or typo's or lies [take your pick], all conveniently popping up when it suits the author's case, which is to SLANDER Pacman. Some "fan" you are author. Your attempts to prove Manny guilty of taking PEDS are pathetic! If you were more honest with yourself you would have titled the article, "Pac is on PEDS"........... Contradiction 2: To quote the author, "I am a huge fan of Pac." Are you? Your incredible bias against Pac is obvious, and ironically denied by saying:" I am a huge fan of Manny Pacquiao, but I can not and will not let this cloud my judgement" lol.......Pity you don't show the same emotionless view when it comes to Mayweather........ Contradiction3: To quote the author a final time, "Morales is a man who has never boxed above junior lightweight".. was.. "Badly beaten in a lightweight bout" WHAT??.... then "faded". Morales was ruined in just one fight?? Losing only 115- 113 to Zahir Raheem I dont think Morales suffered quiet the career ending beating this author is suggesting.....

@frank-mayweather is taller and has a natural bigger frame than pacman so he should be able to move up to these weights easier than pac, not to mention the fact that he isnt blowing out bigger guys with increase strength and power, instead he has started fighting defensive(unlike pac)..so it completely different.
anyway good article

I posted this before but I'll post it again. This is an interview of Manny Pacquiao on a local Philippine TV show taken on March 2005 after the first Pacquiao-Morales fight. This is the reason why Manny is not amenable for blood testing done very near before the fight... And the real reason why the Mayweather camp insist on it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdY1xZ3fh20&feature=player_embedded

Also, blood volume or plasma is replaced within 24 hours. While Red cells need about 4 to 8 weeks for complete replacement. That's the crux isn't it. If you have less red cells in your blood it means you have less stamina (less oxygen).

Mayweather said he is amenable for a cut off period of 14 days for the blood test. But if he insists on USADA to do the test they do not allow any cutoff period. For them its fully random blood tests up to a day before the fight. If Manny already had a bad experience regarding blood taken from him a few days before the fight, he will not want to happen it again.

If Manny already had a bad experience regarding blood taken from him a few days before the fight, he will not want to happen it again.

I simply believe it is not an issue of whether one is a Pac fan, lover, or hater, and equally that of Mayweather. It is a matter of safety and progression of a sport that involves physical combat. If one aims to refute the fact that Mayweather should not be the one to change the rules of boxing, I aggree, but the seed has been planted, who else but the "humble, god fearing, and adored" Pacman to take that seed and nurture it?? I was shocked when Pac's team refused to take the test, and was progressively shocked each time their excuse changed. I hope for the sake of the sport something will happen.

@ PIC

The only reason Pac has said he 'would' take the tests required by the commision because he knows they will not implement the olompic style tests. This was also his 3rd excuse after saying he was afraid of needles then he says having blood drawn ''weakens'' him, its all complete nonsense that the gullable flippas seem to be beleving. face FACTS he cheats on his wife and he cheats in the ring, the man is a CHEAT

Pacquiao has stated that if the random blood tests will be required by the proper authority, he will comply. The reason he doesn't want to comply is it is Mayweather who is requiring it. We all mknow that earlier,Mayweather Sr. has accused Pacquiao of taking PEDs and later on Jr. followed suit by saying that the Philippines is the top producer of PEDs. This has infuriated every Filipino and even neutral fans like me. The words that came from the Mayweathers' big mouths should not and cannot be justified. Up to now no one among the Mayweathersw is showing any remorse or regrets at what they have prviously said about Pacquiao and the Philippines. Pity that this writer has the gall to defend Mayweather who I think comes from the most ill-mannered family in the history of boxing.
