Everyone is writing RJ off, i wouldn’t be surprise if RJ beat hopkins AGAIN. RJ is still the faster and stronger boxer between the two and throws better combinations. Don’t be surprise when RJ beats dat ass again…but what excuses for bhop is gonna come up?? That he was old past his prime and washed??

I’ll be watching this fight on PPV. I know that they are both old and Roy is WAY past his prime. I agree that this fight shouldn’t be happening after what happened to Roy in Austrailia but I’m a lifelong RJJ fan and I will support him to the end. Plus it is being shown by Golden Boy PPV so there won’t be a free replay on HBO the next weekend.

Not even sure if I am interested in watching this fight! I was before Jones got his glass jaw exsposed again.
The fact that Bhop is pursueing this fight shows how egotistical he truly is! The thing is most DO NOT care about this fight as it should have been fought 10 years ago or more. Since Bhop cannot revenge his other loss against Joe Cal,(yes,he lost!) he’s going after Jones in which if he looses will get no credit for it.This is all about ego,a paycheck and NOTHING else!
Who else is planning on watching this fight?

I think the biggest factor for Hopkins is not avenging the defeat from 17 years ago, but avenging prima donna Roy making him wait 17 years for a rematch. How this fight is still going ahead after the one-round blow out Jones had in Dec, is totally shocking. Jones was a great fighter, but now he is too old and needs saving from himself.

If people really think this fight is a good idea, maybe we can get Ali back in the ring to face David Haye, or something equally as stupid.

Come on, at what point does someone say to RJJ, “no more” and whilst about it, they need a similiar conversation with that other duluded former great, Evander Holyfiled.

When a young Roy was being groomed to be a world champion, a young B-Hop was doing time in Graterford Prison. I grew up near Philly, Graterford is no joke.

Great things were expected of Roy, a guy gets out of Graterford & spends the rest of his life working full time @ Home Depot & he’s considered a success.

The way Bernard transformed himself, his life, the dedication to training & fitness, it’s a remarkable story.

Roy had remarkable gifts, Bernard has remarkable will. But if B-Hop pulls Roy in to a street fight he’ll kill him.

Roy’still willing to get in the ring with B-Hop?

Thanks Stu for speaking the truth about B-Hop, all-time middle weight great. Jones is the only fighter to convincingly beat B-Hop since then, that’s why B-Hop wanted it and still wants it. His only loss without question. By the way, Jones is younger by @ least 4 yrs. I’ll buy it, I can afford it and I love the last Philly legend since Frazier. Die hard fans will buy. People still want to see it just like they still bought Tyson fights and watched Ali and still will watch Holyfield, way past their primes.

really some of u guys dont know anything at all about brenard. because he really did get better with age though he did lose to calzaghe once and jermain taylor twice his last 2 fights he dominated in the ring. and with him fighting roy jones and their past history dont any of u guys thing that roy will train his hardest for this fight witch will mostly be his last. roys the kida guy that wants to go out with something special. and brenard even though being the age of 45 he fights like he is 30 and have u guys even watch some of his fights becuase if u did i cant see u thinking that he is bad and old. if u only watched his fight against calzahe then i would understand because calzahe was just a monster. just watch some of his other fights and ull see what im talking about. but i can almost garente this will be a very good fight nomatter what the records r or the age of the fighters because i know these two warriors have one last great fight in them they will let out on this grudge match

i would think watching tarver, johnson and green bashing roy’s face in would be revenge enough? it’s just hopkins way of getting a second gimmie. he should be facing adamek, dawson or bute. but he went with big money low risk. i’ll wait for the replay on regular hbo.

you are on crack if you think jones beat a prime hopkins. the hopkins jones beat was knocked down twice at mw by mercado. hopkins was in his prime ten years after that fight. he was a very late starter…he had no amateur career…he wasn’t a great fighter when he fought jones. in fact, he’s a better fighter now. if you knew anything about boxing you’d know that.
