HBO: Road To Dallas – Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey

Friday, Feb. 19 – HBO Sports® will present “Road to Dallas: Pacquiao vs. Clottey,” a thirty-minute special analyzing the upcoming welterweight title showdown between pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and challenger Joshua Clottey that will mark the first-ever pro boxing event at the landmark $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Tex. The intriguing fight will take place on Saturday, March 13 and be televised on HBO Pay-Per-View ®.
The “Road to Dallas: Pacquiao vs. Clottey” special, which will feature fighter profiles, expert analysis and forecasts for the matchup, will premiere on HBO on Saturday, March 6 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT immediately following the live presentation of HBO Boxing After Dark®.
Making his first ring appearance of 2010, Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs) looks to continue the enormous momentum he built up in 2009 when he scored convincing KO wins over Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas. Considered the sport’s pound-for-pound king, Pacquiao is boxing’s first seven division champ. A native of Ghana, Clottey (35-3, 21 KOs) is a formidable opponent who is determined to spring the first huge upset of 2010.
The special will also be available to HBO ON DEMAND® subscribers 24 hours a day, beginning Wednesday, March 10 through Monday, April 12.

Clottey is the underdog in this fight. Clottey easy win for you yo. Grand Master is going to punish Manny like Manny punish Cotto and another thing Cotto don’t beat Clottey in that fight they gave Cotto the Victory and he knew he loss. Bad judging in 2009.

Dean I can’t wait to see this mega fight. Clottey is the bigger guy and If Shawn Porter rock the Pacman i think clottey would have no problem knockin Manny around the ring. Clottey it’s ur time to shine if you want it, but you have get it really dig dip to stop Manny.
No 24/7 for Pacquiao vs. Clottey??? But Mayweather vs. Mosley will probably get one, right…That sucks!!! Mayweather and Mosley are household names, they dont need a 24/7. People are gonna watch that fight for sure. But who outside of boxing circles is that familiar with Clottey? A top guy who can potentially give Pacquiao trouble. Casual boxing fans and the general public are gonna miss a great fight in Pacquiao vs. Clottey due to poor marketing. Floyd Mayweather is more entertaining for 24/7 because the trash he talks about his opponents it helps hype up the fight. A 24/7 with Pacquiao and Clottey would be boring

I think this says a lot about Pacquiao’s lack of charisma. If this was Mayweather v Clottey I guarantee it would have got the HBO 24/7 treatment. Humble is boring.
manny always delivers ,cottley sound like he has something up his sleeve,he put up a good fight ,or people will say it fixed ,but pac has too much fire power,and he on a roll.nothing stopping pac he in his prime now.

In less than a month, we will see another great boxing spectacular in Pacquiao-Clottey encounter. This is one fight that will surely happen. Manny Pacquiao might have the edge in this fight, but Clottey is no push over kind of fighter. He fought the best there is and survived. This will be interesting and this will really happen.
Hurray for Manny! If Filipinos feel strongly about Pacquiao, it is because it’s not often that we have fighters of his caliber. In fact, the last time a Filipino reigned as Welterweight champion was in 1959, when Rocky Kalingo beat then-undefeated WBC Welterweight champ Florentino Fernandez of Cuba. Rocky Kalingo was a last-minute replacement to fight the Cuban champ in Caracas, but he knocked out Fernandez in the 1st round. Kalingo lost the title in their rematch in Havana.
Given how long it’s taken the Philippines to have another welterweight champ, we sure hope Manny will stay on top for a while. So, good luck, Manny – you make us proud!
