Bernard Hopkins vs. Roy Jones II is set for April 3

After 17 years the wait is over as sure-fire future Hall of Famers Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins and Roy “The Terminator” Jones Jr. collide in a long awaited rematch that will add the final chapter to their 17-year rivalry. The Rivals: Hopkins vs. Jones II is set for Saturday, April 3 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The bout will be broadcast live on pay-per-view beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT..

The fighters will participate in a press tour with stops in New York and Los Angeles next Tuesday and Wednesday, February 9 and 10, respectively.

Hopkins (50-5-1, 32 KOs) and Jones (54-6, 40 KOs), two of boxing’s most decorated and recognizable fighters who have given fans more than two decades worth of brilliant ring memories, will put it all on the line and leave no doubts as to who gets the bragging rights.

“A rematch with Roy has been in the back of my mind for a long time and it’s finally going to happen,” said Hopkins. “I have accomplished a lot in my career since that night in Washington, DC in 1993, and I am going to end this thing between me and Roy once and for all.”

“We’re giving the fans what they want to see. They deserve this fight and why not supply the fans with what they demand?” said Jones. “Now I can finally terminate the Executioner once and for all. My new nickname for this fight will be – The Terminator.”

I’m a HUGE Hopkins fan and am looking forward to this fight. Hopkins by KO anyone who thinks jones has a chance after getting murked by Danny Green in 1 round is an idiot and should never be allowed to watch boxing again.

  • Joey says:

Roy was the man back in the day and will always be considered at one time the best in the world but since being KO’d by Tarver he has never been the same so sad to say this fight is pointless. Hopkins is still a great fighter and there are alot of opponents out there and I think Hopkins vs Dawson would be better for the sport of boxing!

  • Sean P says:

Will this be more watched that Haye/Ruiz…same night?

  • King D says:

Oh wow, this is like wathching your grand parents fight. Who ever wins still gets no pride and glory. Just a loser card for attempting to do something so pathetic. This is what MONEY does to the sport.

  • Vlad says:

THIS FIGHTS A JOKE RIGHT?? JONES WAS ICED BY DANNY GREEN IN 1 ROUND.

  • Toney says:

    Hopkins By KO

  • FLSun says:

    Jones by KO

  • Duke says:

usually promoters justify having weak undercards due to a great main event. in this case, they should have bradley vs judah, khan vs marquez and soto vs valero to fill this card. but i have a feeling b-level fighters will be facing zombies just as always.

  • CEP says:

I use to love to watch Roy fight, but I wish he wouldn’t have taken this fight, just call it a day Roy, and enjoy life!

  • Mark says:

Are they serious? Who told Hopkins the fans are demanding this fight? Most fans could care less. I hope this isn’t on payperview.
