Kper, what’s that remark about Adamek being Polish? Half of the so called ‘American Fighters’ are either from Latin America or Italian. Take Rocky Marciano, Paulie Malignaggi, Arturo Gatti etc. At the moment there is only one decent guy from the States that has some potential in HW – Eddie Chambers. Really, apart from Jack Dempsey there never was a fully blooded white American fighter at the top of this game.

Anyway about Adamek’s defence – I agree, he might not be the typical european style fighter with a close shop type guard, but still he has brilliant head movement, good reflexes and great chin. Now he might not be able to take on the Klitschkos due to their size and power. But he can defintely take on Arreola. And let’s be honest guys, the Klitschkos made the division boring with their 10 meter jab range and left-right combination style.
Just to straighten this out – Holyfield weighed only 210 pounds in his first HW bout, so that’s 10 pds less than Adamek did against Estrada. And Holyfield is 6’2 not 6’4 people.
Last remark – why did Adamek leave the Cruiserweight division?
Easy answer: no real competition with Haye in HW, more money and popularity and obviously only the HW Division is the Real Deal in Boxing.

I think this was a good fight. Adamek outboxed Estrada and didn’t eat so many shots as some people are saying.
He ia much better than minto and faster too.
A fight with Arreola would be very entertaining. Arreola will underestimate Adamek.

Adamek should hire Freddie Roach and hang out with Pac as much as he can. After that, I’m sure he will naturally gain 30 lbs and be stronger, faster and have more stamina than ever.

If he has defence how come everytime he fights he gets hit so much?(Not just the last fight but most of his fights he gets tagged ALOT!)
His hand speed is nothing special by any means. You say his hand speed is the same as it was at cruiser?! Not even close and he was outspeeded at cruiser many times!(Cunnigham tagged him so many times I lost count!) He does have an excellent chin,heart,durability and is always in good shape.As long as he keeps fighting he is entertaining to watch I will give him that. (When it comes down to it that is the most important thing, to be entertaining!)
I just think that if he remained at cruiser he could stay champion and maby even unify. At heavy he will get his skull caved in sooner or later!

I go with the school of thought that this is the start of a possibly good show at heavyweight. Say what you like about Adamek’s performance he still beat Estrada, so what does that say about the big six. Now He is really going nowhere after a lot of talk, and nobody ever said he wasn’t a true heavyweight.
Don’t judge one performance, particularly after he just won.

That said he and many others are never going to beat either Klitschko, but may well beat Haye. Look out Haye, you are going to be a marked man with that plastic title, and may well lose it before getting anywhere near a Klitschko.

Adamek would get beaten by Arreola.He does NOT have the punching power or the size to compete with him.Guys like Mike Tyson were successful at heavy because of a wicked defence,great chin and awesome power!(Plus Mike is a natural heavy) Adamek is a good fighter but he is making a mistake fighting at heavy if he wants to win a title and become “the man” to beat at heavy!

Adamek is NOT big enough to become champion at heavy.He has NO defence and his hand speed was not that fast as a cruiserweight to begin with!He does have a good chin and good power,at cruiser.Adamek,if you want to follow in Evander Holyfields shoes you had better grow a couple of inches and get faster!(Its NOT going to happen!)

In my opinion Adamek deserved to win despite not having fought
like he did in his most recent fights. You cannot expect a guy always to go out and take a load of shots just to entertain us boxing fans. End of the day this sport is mainly about winning. Win in ugly fashion rather than lose in style.
Look what happened to Gatti in his last career fights.
So this was not the Adamek that we got used to – but how many good white heavyweights are ou there except for the Klitschkos. A few more fights and we will truly see what Adamek is capable of. Beating Arreola? Definitely! Chubby guy with the speed of a chess player. C’mon!

Adamek isnt ready for any of the top heavyweights he struggled against Estrada which isnt a bad thing as he isnt a push over but in my opinion he should go back to cruiserweight and rematch Steve Cunningham and try and unifi the division.

I think that Sean McDaniel underestimate Jason Estrada. He’s a really good fighter, uncomfortable for the oponents. Estrada looks much better (very good shape) against Adamek than against Povietkin.

I agree – Adamek is to small for Klitscho brothers, but to fast for Arreola.
