2010 Boxing Predictions: Khan-Marquez, Pacquiao-Clottey, Klitschko-Chambers
By Dennis Broadhurst: Well there will hopefully be many great fights in 2010, I would like to offer my predictions to people now. Some fights may not happen and some definitely will, this article will cover some fights that are in talks and some that have already been announced.
1) The first fight I would like to mention is Pacquiao vs Clottey. I don’t think Clottey has big enough power to stop Pacquiao and doesn’t have the workrate to beat him by points, I see this fight being competitive for four or five rounds but then Pacquiao to take control and end things around round 11.
3) Mayweather vs Mosley is not certain but if it does come through then I think Mayweather will win. I really think it will be a competative fight but I do believe that Mosley is too old to beat Mayweather, he may still though trouble him. I see it as a close decision for Mayweather.
4) Haye vs Ruiz should be a good fight, I think that Haye will stop his opponent by wearing him down before landing one of his huge combinations to end things – KO in favour of Haye by round 9.
5) Khan vs Marquez, well I think Marquez is too old and will be fighting to heavy to beat Khan. I think a prime Marquez would have taken out Khan but he is now too old and is fighting at too heavy a weight. I think Khan will fight a safe fight, constantly on the move and will win a unanimous decision, this really will be a sad way for Marquez to go.
6) Froch vs Kessler, a fight that will be a war but I think Froch will win. Kessler does not seem to take punishment well and I think Froch will land his right hand on him all night long. I see this as a late stoppage for Froch, around round 11.
7) Dirrell vs Abraham. Well this is an interesting one, everyone thinks Dirrell has ants in his pants and that Abraham will knock him out but I disagree. I think Dirrell will use his height and reach and will be far too fast for the primitive Abraham, beating him by a decision.
8 ) Klitschko (Vitali) vs Valuev. If this fight does happen then I see a stoppage win for Vitali, he will not move against Valuev but will bulldoze him. I see a retirement of Valuev by round 9.

clottey is gonna beat pacquiao, clottey got robbed against cotto and lost a close war with margarito, watch some of his fights on youtube. people dont know about clottey b/c he might be an unpopular african fighter, but expect clottey to shock the boxing world on fight night ….(just my opinion)…its gonna be a tough and interesting fight!
if khan fights marquez at 135 then i see marquez winning by a wide margin but if marquez goes to 140 well i see khan actually winning either by ko in the middle rounds or by points.
pacquiao has a tough fight againts clottey, clottey is not a push over. i still see pac winning by ko on the 7th.
Khan is thinking he has a easy fight with Marquez.Khan is in for a big surprise fight nite. When he dropped title to fight Juan it shows he was a little worried about his manditory defense.
Marquez Over Khan TKO or KO
Kitschko Over Chambers KO
Manny Over Clotty KO Late Rounds
KHAN AINT THE TRUTH AND JMM WILL MESS UP GBP NEW CASH COW
khan vs marquez is guna be a thriller, an old experienced ring legend vs young blood. Marquez will need to do more than to drink his own urine for this fight! lol
but no disrespect, at 130-135 i would have definately favoured marquez at this stage of their careers. Shows what difference 4-5lbs make to a fighter!
LMAO I just read HBO and GBP are arranging it so maidana wont fight chicken khan for at least a year while they match him with old washed up lightweights.I will definitely be making other plans whenever he fights.I have no interest in this fraud and wont be giving this glass jawed chicken any ratings
Good article. I hope Abraham defeats durrell and froch defeats kessler, what a fight it would be web Abraham comes to Nottingham. Two of boxing undefeated tought guys going to war! Come on froch and Abraham!!
I agree with most of what you included in this story. I DO NOT SEE PACQUIAO STOPPING CLOTTEY!!! Clottey’s chin is just too strong. Clottey may not be a finisher, but I do not think his pride will allow him to go out on his back or be stopped.
It depends what happens in round 1 through 5. If Clottey catches Pacquiao a few times on the button, Pacquiao will slow down. After all, this is a TRUE welterweight and a very strong guy.
Abraham is just to strong. Boxing strength is everything in boxing. Strength and Speed rule in boxing!!!
What’s happening with khans belt? Are the WBA stripping him of it?
I’m very excited to see Pacman fight this March in Dallas.
Marquez is a late bloomer. He is still at his prime. The only reason why he got beat up by KFC was that, KFC cheated on the weight plus 144 something is just not his weight class. He fought a fight he can never win. Khan VS Marquez is a tough fight to predict. He showed his capability when he KO Diaz, a younger and just as aggressive as Khan. If they were to fight, I’ll go for Marquez for a KO/TKO. Marquez is an intellegent fighter at 140 below. Above 140, he’ll have issue on adjusting on bigger opponent. He is nothing like Manny.
INDEED THE BEST YEAR OF BOXING!!!!!
KHAN DOESNT BELONG IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS MARQUEZ. MARQUEZ IS THE SAME GUY THAT DESTROYED PAQUIAO. A TRUE WARRIOR THAT PAQ IS DUCKING CAUSE DIDNT WANT TO TAKE THE BLOOD TEST FOR ROIDS.
I just want to address the comment ‘Duke’ made about Manny not stopping someone since Morales.. 3 words my friend TKO, did you see the Paquaio vs Cotto fight? Do you know that Cotto beat Clottey? Cotto is an elite fighter and although Hatton isn’t anymore at the time he was considering elite before Manny destroyed him. Finally did you see him end Oscar De la Hoya’s career, fight stopped in the 8th? I’m not trying to be smart here but there are good reasons why people predict Manny will stop Clottey. Get your facts straight kid. Personally i see Manny win by TKO in in Round 10.
paqroids vs a easy b-class fighter like clotty is a GARBAGE FIGHT. we all know the outcome. Comon paq, stop fighting easy opponents. Ducker boy.
How about these for fights in 2010…
Marquez v Valero – Isn’t it about time Valero fought a big name? Lets see if he is all that.
Bradley v Hatton – This is who I want Hatton to fight, the supposed No.1 light-welterweight.
Chris John v Lopez v Gamboa – I don’t care who or in what order but I want to watch.
Pavlik v Williams – If Pavlik gets by Martinez then he has to face Williams, surely.
Haye v Klitchkos – Come on… it has got to happen.
Obviously there is the Mayweather/Mosley/Pacquiao situation and the Super Six. So could 2010 be the greatest year for boxing we have seen in a long time?
i don’t get why everyone thinks manny is gonna knock out clottey. the last elite fighter that manny knocked out for the first time in the fighter’s career was morales. and it took manny 20 rounds to do so. clottey has way better defense than any fighter manny has faced.
as long as all these fights happen we are in for another great year hopefully to add to these a fight between haye and a klitschko good predictions cant wait for it all to kick off
I predict khan will be exposed again this year to 18months the same way prescott exposed him.To have the public paying £15 to watch his fights that led up to and including his title win then the following 90second defence was a disgrace. Now rather than face the mandatory challenger, “a known banger” he drops the title and switches promoters to fight the big names stateside. “i want the big fights” said khan, then take that fight instead of relinquishing your belt. lose the belt like all great box office champions do. . . .in the ring !
Got to agree with you for most of that.
Except for fight ’7′, I predict an Abraham win, Dirrel wont have it in him to beat him…
And maybe Vitali in fight ’8′ if it occurs, will be abit more careful and win on points.
