Do you see the problem here? The false accusations by Team Mayweather don't mean that Pacquiao has to prove his innocence. The truth is, by proving his innocence, Mayweather and his low-life cronies get their way. You see what they did? They screwed up a man's image, and never even had to produce a single ounce of evidence to support their claim. Smoke and mirrors, and they haven't been required to prove any guilt. Why has nobody asked Team Mayweather to offer some proof of their claims? If you really think that basing it off of Floyd Sr.'s personal opinion that Manny is too strong for his current weight, you're a bigger idiot than they are.@lex_fugitive

Try this logic for a minute...

Manny agreeing to testing for this fight does not clear whatever rumors there may be surrounding his past abuses. Does it?

If he was worried strictly about proving the fans who believe this Mayweather garbage wrong (btw, this is limited almost entirely to Mayweather fans, or Anti-Pacquiao fans), then he would willingly agree to the testing and maybe win maybe lose.

However, he is not refusing because he intends to continue using steroids (going off your presumption that denying the testing makes him guilty). He is refusing to take the tests because he believes bloodwork too close to the fight will weaken him as he fasts and dehydrates in preparation for the fight.

Couple that fact with the fact that this sort of request has not been made by Mayweather in any of his other fights with bigger men, nor has it been asked of any boxer for any fight so far.

Couple THAT with the fact that the way which Team Mayweather went about this was to start false rumors without facts, to stir up the public opinion until people like you and a million others start to assume the guilt lies with Pacquiao somehow.

You only see a man refusing a test and using that as evidence of guilt.

Try this scenario...

---

A police officer approaches a man on the street. The officer has four giant knives tucked into his waist. "You're coming with me," he says to the man, as he grabs him by the elbow.

The man pulls away. "Where are we going?" he asks.

"Don't play smart with me, sir," the cop says. "We're taking a trip downtown."

"What? For what?"

"For juggling with knives."

"Juggling with-- Are you serious? I don't juggle with any knives. What makes you think I --"

Just then, the cop lets the man go, and pulls the knives out from his waist.

"If you don't juggle with knives, then prove it. Here." The cop offers the knives to the man.

---

At this point, how do you finish the story? Here's the Mayweather way:

---

SCENARIO 01:

The man takes the knives in his hands. "Now what?"

"Start juggling. If you can't handle the knives, I'll know you are innocent."

"But what if I get injured?"

"Not my problem. If you don't juggle, though, you're coming with me."

The man begins to juggle, and after the third machete hits the air, the first two land blade down against his arm and shoulder. The man begins to bleed, and lets out a yell of pain while falling to his knees clutching his injuries.

The cop, satisfied, walks away with a smile.

People around look with confusion at both men.

---

SCENARIO 2:

The man refuses to take the knives. "No, I'm not going to juggle for you just because you say I was juggling."

The cop puts the knives away then grabs the man by the elbow. "Then you're coming with me. Simple as that!"

The man pulls away, angry. "What proof do you have that I juggled with knives?"

The cop gestures to the man's arm. "You have a scar on your forearm. Right there. And you remind me of a guy who used to juggle with knives."

"And that makes me guilty?"

"It's good enough for me. Now shut up and let's go."

The cop escorts the man down the sidewalk forcefully toward his cop car. A crowd of people are now pointing and staring at the man as they pass, certain he is some sort of criminal.

---

ryan your link shows why Pacmnan is against random testing. It takes a whole 24 hours to get HGH out of the system. And what about EPO? And other PEDs? Manny is unwilling to take these tests that would show the PEDs a boxer would get the most from. Yet Manny is still afraid of these tests. Just like he is afraid of any counter-puncher.

That quote you pulled is in direct conflict with the article on the Bleacher Report website. I think the URL is too long to be posted here but do the search recommended below, or view it through my article on my blog: http://www.liftingfaces.com

Dr. Catlin has said that nobody has been caught using HGH in 30 years, using urine or blood, and that only just recently have they developed a form of URINE testing which will catch it. It test uses what Ceres Nanosciences calls "NanotrapTM ESP Particles".

The point is, the blood tests were just a ruse to get out of the fight, that much is becoming clear. Let's hope that the defamation suit goes forward, and he is forced to pay for his smear campaign before the two finally fight in the Fall.

Travis Tygart, the CEO of USADA, told Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports that:
"There is no urine-based tested for human-growth hormone," Tygart said. "It doesn’t show up in the urine. It’s only a blood-based test. That’s true of a number of prohibited substances, particularly those that would enhance and aid a boxer.”

Tygert also added the schedule Arum is proposing won't work, because a fighter would have the advantage of knowing when he'd be tested.

“That kind of window is totally unacceptable,” Tygart said. “It would provide a huge loophole for a cheater to step through and get away with cheating.”

Dr. Gary Wadler, an internal medicine physician and chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List and Methods sub-committee, supported Tygar's position.

@ryan
About those urine tests:
Now i don't want to sound pompous here but um, i read (and no it wasn't a PacFan column or website) an interview with one of the guys that work in drug testing field that urine analysis used to catch all traces of doping but that was before this new age of "smart" drugs. They reckon that now there are so many ways to cover up these trace elements that blood testing becomes necessary. I will try to find the link maybe its nonsense but i am inclined to believe otherwise.

That's a sad, though unsurprising article you just posted. Let's see the finger pointing begin, and hope that this fight can happen some other time when cooler heads can prevail.

@Honest Pac Fan

That's just another Op Ed on the same topic. That nobody has been caught in 30 years using HGH with blood tests.

The problem is, all of the people who think Manny is showing guilt by not doing blood tests don't realize that urine tests actually find MORE substances than blood. Look it up on your own if you don't want to take my word for it. Manny has agreed to unlimited urine samples up to and on the night of the fight.

The problem is, all of the people who think Manny is showing guilt by not doing blood tests don’t realize that urine tests actually find MORE substances than blood. Look it up on your own if you don’t want to take my word for it. Manny has agreed to unlimited urine samples up to and on the night of the fight.

Aw, so close. You made it two posts but couldn't eke out the third FTW. Sorry, Mr. Jerome McFinnigan, but you lose.

I like it better when we talk like adults though, just between you and me.

There you go, that's better. It wasn't so hard was it? I think that's two posts in a row now without an insult at a fellow poster.

I'm glad to see you acknowledge Manny going up to fight Foreman is a gamble. You're right. Personally I don't think he needs the 8th belt. That's like running up the score in a Colts game. He's already got the record, fyi, he would just be setting more distance between himself and De La Hoya.

And I agree, Lil' Hatton vs. Mayweather would be snooze fest 2010. They should fight it in the Wizard's locker room for irony's sake.

To be honest, if the Mayweather Pacquiao fight doesn't happen in March, two interim fights (tune up fights), one for each of them, will just be a way to get to this fall when they both end up making $50M a piece instead.
